Excellent service from start to finish. The GM Mel(Extremely good what what he does!), the server, the hostess and everyone we came into contact with greeted us warmly and made us feel like were VIPs. The service and attention they showered on us was excellent and we felt like they are on top of things. The A5 sampler was divine, melt in your mouth, you''l be thinking about it all week good. The octopus was wonderful and the king alaskan salmon was particularly good, I really enjoyed the New York Strip with mushrooms. All of the rolls we got were fresh and well balanced. The presentation was beautiful! The desserts were all great, we had one of each and the mango rice pudding and the cheesecake were excellent, We will be back!

The food is great and it has a cool vibe. Came for my birthday with my husband and we shared 4 dishes, mostly sushi and all were really good. Our server made some great recommendations and gave me a free dessert. My only suggestion is to come for dinner by 7-7:15pm. The busboy was a little too eager to clear our plates as we approached 9pm when the kitchen closes. The staff is serious about wanting to leave work on time.

They put us at a communal table with a bench for a chair, I asked if we could move to a table because i wanted to sit back on a chair. but they said no. Even though there were four tables that sat empty throughout our whole meal and even when we left. Just didn’t make sense that they wouldn’t let us move. The hostess said that you have to make a note on the reservation to sit at the regular tables. which is absolute lies. However, our server was good, he tried to get us moved but the hostess wasn’t allowing it. The food wasn’t great and that’s not a biased comment. my steak was raw, and i mean actual raw meat. it was cold in the middle. I asked for a medium. This standard of restaurant and the prices they charge it’s just the service you should receive. I most certainly will never dine at that restaurant again.

The food is always outstanding. There is a little higher noise level upstairs but not to the point where you can’t converse. The room has a great vibe. Eating down stairs in the bar can be a little more intimate for a small group. The sushi is top shelf. For a real treat (a little pricey) try Omakase. The chef decides for you so it is a little bit of an adventure. The mix can include some user input so you can tailor the meal to your desire if you want to add some additional wagyu. Cocktails will not disappoint.

Sophisticated, modern and stylish restaurant. Omakase was a special treat and good value for the amount and quality. Service was friendly and professional. The tables are well spaced, so you can have easy private conversations, yet also is fun for larger groups. Highly recommend this for full Japanese cuisine experience!

Food was great, we loved the Omakase. The let down was the experience at the Sushi counter. Unlike what you would experience at any other japanese restaurant, here there is no experience. We were just left in the corner, partially forgotten by the service at the beginning (20mn), no interaction whatsoever with chefs and big ceramic bowls obstructing the view. I understand that it’s busy and they have lot to take care of, but In this case, don’t have a sushi counter. It’s pointless.

Picked the Omakase Menu. This was an outstanding choice, great value the money. Compliments to the Chefs, every dish tasted exquisite. But what elevated the experience were: 1) the way the wait staff interacted, like you were the most special guest for the night and 2) the way the dishes were presented, seemed like a well choreographed dance and each dish an aria.

The kitchen closes at 9 pm, so be sure to get there at least 75 minutes beforehand. We got there at 8:15 pm Service was almost superb, from the minute we walked in to leaving. I loved the fact that when I told the maitre d' that I would like a table in a warm and quiet spot, he escorted us directly to the "private" room. Perfect. The only glitch was the waiter asking us to pay our check before we could do so. The staff likes to leave on time. Strongly recommend the Wagyu steak tartare. Yum!

After going to Roka several times with great experiences, we have decided to try the Omakase. The food quality was good, no doubt about that. However, it is not worthy $350.00 (after taxes, per couple) for sure. At the end of the dinner, I was asked by the manager how was it. After I said that I was disappointed, I received more apologies from different staff members than I received food from the kitchen. Nobody tried to do anything, only apologies after apologies. Roka is a good Japanese restaurant, but the Omakase is a disappointment.

First time, but walked into the bathroom that was not checked, and that was before my appetizer. But this is just rude customers having no courtesy or sense of hygiene. The food was good especially the Omakaze set dinner. Service although acceptable required several requests and our water was not checked. I expect a $400 for 2 to be perfect. It was almost there. I will still go back though.
