We were a table of 5 and seated in a semi-private room yet able to enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant. We all enjoyed the amazing spread of the Roka Akor Omakase, a Chef's selection. A great way to enjoy the variety of food selection.
We had the most fabulous meal on Saturday night.
Everything was perfect. The food was so delicious!
The service was suburb ..... I love Roka Akor!
Server is nice and very responsive.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Breathtakingly expensive.
Great food, great service overall nice experience. Only downpoints for me was the noise, I couldn't hear what the people across of me where saing.
Great food, good ambience. Try the pork belly. Overall, great experience!
We went for a birthday, and while it was very expensive, the food was delicious and it was a nice special occasion spot. I had the steak with grilled bone marrow and would recommend.
They had a nice life sorbet dessert they brought out for the birthday boy and the birthday note on the table was a nice touch too.
Our crew ended up spending about $60-70pp.
One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve been in years. Great food and service. Really worth to pay the amount I’ve paid and I’ll definitely come back.
Delicious food and great service.
Amazing food and service as always! I've been coming here for a few years and they're always top notch!
The food here is the best I've had so far. It is high quality and you can taste the quality in every bite. I recommend people visiting San Francisco with money to spend to make a stop here. This kind of setting is very Bruce Wayne esque.
Great food, excellent service. Can’t wait to go back!
I’m allergic to chiles and requested to omit chiles in the fried squid. It was served with sliced jalapeños all over, unfortunately!
Terrific place for a foodie. We tried several of the dishes marked as Roka Ahor signature dishes and we were very pleased. We’ll be back with more friends.
Perfect service, perfect food but it Was to loud for having a perfect dinner
I was joined with two friends for dinner. We ordered the Omakase. It was a recommendation from our server. Since my party wanted to share and try a variety of things. I was impressed with everything, Food was fantastic: the A4 waygu was tender and perfectly paired with 3 dipping sauces; the sweet grilled corn that was enhanced by the creamy house aioli sauce; the extremely prepared King crab legs (already cracked) made it so easy to consume and the fact that the serving size was very generous portions ( I took 3 large pieces home) The sashimi platter (salmon, skipjack, amberjack, hamachi, others I can't remember) Presentation of all plates was superior than many upscale restaurants that I have been. Service: Exceptional, they were extremely attentive and precise, I did not see them refill my water glass, nearly the entire 3 hours I was there. Ambiance: I love the decor of the restaurant, plenty of space between guests, open kitchen, beautiful and immaculate bathrooms, love the wood furnishings and lights. I am looking forward to returning again. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is seeking to treat themselves to a special evening, the staff at Roka Akor, in my opinion will meet or exceed your expectations.
Great food and service
Rice was really sticky so when you picked up a roll it was stuck to another, then when you separated them, they fell
Amazing food and you get a good amount for each price! Always order the corn!
We were very happy with the service and quality of food!
Best sushi, steak, and experience, I have had in a long time
Special Japanese food with taste and a zest of creativity
We had a rez upstairs, but, as our party gathered, we decided to extend our time in the bar and have dinner there. The wait staff was slammed with a table of 20(it seemed) as well as all other tops taken. I want to compliment all of them for their efficiency and politeness. We had a 7pm curtain 3 blocks away and their attention made it possible for us to get to the theater right on time!
By the way--the food is always superb!
We went on the last night of our holiday, as we had been earlier in our stay. The food is excellent, our only complaint was that it was sometimes difficult to hear each other talk.
Food and Service were outstanding!! it was a bit louder than usual :(
My favorite SF spot for sushi! Great food! Great atmosphere! Great service!
Beautiful! Always the best food and service. Roka Akor is our special occasion restaurant!! The food is impeccable. Omakase is worth the price and is a spectacular surprise.
We went to dinner here to give their omakase experience a shot. We must say that it was more like a "menu sampler" than an omakase. It was definitely not the same omakase feel that we get when we go to other omakase restaurants.
The food we got was just okay. The sashimi course didn't really wow us. What really wowed us were some of their other dishes that came from their appetizer and vegetable part of the menu. The red meat course was pretty good.
The service was great! There were 2 servers that served us throughout the night and another server that came by to make sure our water glasses were always filled.
We liked the atmosphere cause it was a larger sized restaurant, but it did lack the intimacy of conversing and getting to know more about the dishes the chef decided to serve.
Overall, the 4-star rating is an average of the great service they provided compared to the food being served. Would we come here for omakase again? Not likely. Would we come here to try their wagyu dishes instead? Probably. It was definitely a different and interesting omakase experience.
Food was average but very expensive, Omakase was not great.
Megan was amazing. Expensive restaurant
Enjoyed the omakase selections and the robata grilled A5 wagyu was great.
Food was quite good but the place is very noisy and we couldn’t hear the waiter when he spoke. Service was slow and ambiance was lacking.
Unfortunately we were allowed to make a 1:15 reservation. I guess it was too close to closing time as we were rushed through our firm's lunch. We arrived on time and only one other table of 2 was in the restaurant. They even opened all the blinds in the restaurant to let us know it's time to go. We were not even offer coffee to accompany our desserts. We've been here on several occasions. This was by far our worst lunch experience ever. Our displeasure was voiced to the server. Thank you Roka Akor!
Great Japanese-California fusion food, elegantly presented and impeccably served.
