Roka Akor - Old Orchard Ratings and Reviews
My friend and I came here for the first time. We enjoyed a number of small plates along with drinks. What a treat! Everything was delicious and meticulously prepared. We also enjoyed a crab sushi roll with the freshest of ingredients. We also enjoyed a bowl of edamame and crispy octopus. Both delicious, especially the octopus. We had no room for more, so we will be back soon!
Peter along with the rest of the staff provided intuitive and top notch service. The dressing on the beet salad had an addicting zing and the salmon was perfectly cooked. Roka Akor continues to be a place you can reply on for top quality service and food!
We’ve been here multiple times and we’ve never been disappointed with the food. Our server was nice, attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu.
The only disappointment was with the hostess (an Asian lady). We requested to be moved to a booth (there were several empty booths) but was told no by the hostess - with this condescending attitude. After talking to our first server, who worked it out with someone else, they were able to accommodate us.
This was probably one of the best meals I've ever had. It started with a very nice, energetic, and attentive waiter. I ordered the filet, brussel sprouts, and toro sushi and a moscow mule. Everything was "melt in your mouth" good! Bus staff were attentive with water, etc. Fantastic experience overall.
Our family of 7 went to this restaurant to celebrate a family member's birthday. It was one of the few open on New Year's Day. We enjoyed our dinner. The waiter was enthusiastic and the food was good. The only disae appointment was that they offered a limited menu that day which was not noted in OpenTable. It wouldn't have been a problem other than the fact that I'm vegetarian. Chef was cooperative and he made me a special meal but, as often the case, no protein.
Our dining experience at Roka was truly outstanding. Service by Lee could not be any better. We started with Edamame and two Maki Rolls. Delicious. The Miso soup was very good and the salad was incredible. Very light and refreshing. The dressing was delicious. I had the Chicken Teriyaki with corn on the cob and my husband had the Tiger Prawns. We shared, so the combination was perfect. Just a outstanding meal. We will definitely be back soon.
Recently took a group of business colleagues to Roko at Old Orchard. Excellent food and service. Underwhelming decor. RA is a two pronged dining experience. Half sushi restaurant. Half Japanese steakhouse.
Collective feedback from our group was the “hot” side of the menu was awesome. The lamb and beef dishes were wonderful. Sushi was pretty mundane fro. A presentation perspective though very fresh. Rolls we’re mediocre.
Great service from our Serbian waiter. Yeah, that’s right.
We had a reservation for 8:15pm, but were not seated until 8:45pm. While a little frustrated, the restaurant were graciously apologetic. We were offered champagne and free appetizers to make up for the wait, which was appreciated. I had steamed mussels with mushroom and onions, and I loved the broth. The servings are a bit small for the price, though. The food was delicious but not memorable. Overall, I don't think I would go back, but it wasn't bad.
Always a great meal and impeccable service here. We had the Omakase tasting menu and it was terrific. Though it is definitely a lot of food. While the food is always great, the service is really great as well. The servers are very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.
Great Food,Great Service, Great selections. This is my go to place when I'm in the area.
As a bonus they have home made ice cream to die for and sorbets just as creative as the food. It has a comfortable and friendly atmosphere where friends can visit while eating a variety of Japanese food.
Staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good. Nice atmosphere. Staff was very genuine and knowledgeable about the dishes. Desserts were original and tasty. Our family was there for a birthday and the staff brought out a candle and some ice cream. Very Nice done. Would recommend. The place was small and quaint but large enough to accommodate all your needs
Fantastic. The one in the City is fancier, this has less choices on the menu, but we picked very good food. The waiter was kind, very knowledgeable and the service was very fast. We had a great experience. The beef with truffle and the treat the cook sent were awesome. Tempura was so delicate and their Toro was melting in our mouth.
