We had a reservation and still had to wait 20 minutes. We watched many couples walk in after us and get seated without having to wait. When it was finally our time to be seated the host began leading us then stopped to help the man coming in to pick up an online order for grub hub or Uber eats so we had to wait again. Then she led us to our table & it was the smallest make shift table in the worst part of the restaurant, basically an add on to a larger booth in back where we would’ve been on top of another groups table. Also right next to the bathrooms & the kitchen door. I asked for the open booth & she wasn’t sure if we could be seated there so we had to follow her all the way to the front again.

She then coordinated with the other host because she wasn’t able to figure out the situation after I explained to her we had reservations and we were waiting 20 minutes. Mind you this host felt completely uncomfortable sitting us at that table because she knew very well it was the worst spot in the restaurant.

We were finally given the open booth I asked for that was available. Then had to wait almost ten minutes for our water & even longer to get a drink.Throughout the entire evening it was very clear who the manager was as he walked around the place and checked in at all other tables. Not once did he stop by our table to check on us.

I honestly felt like no one cared about giving us the best service since we were a younger couple & I had to say something about the wait time & to get a better table. It’s as if we were being discriminated against for our age - The older couples and groups had much more interaction from the staff from what I saw and could hear around us, and were being treated as if they have 1st priority.

The food was good, brussel sprouts very soggy and saturated but that was the least of our issues that night. I’d like to come back here but I felt I unwelcome for the first half of our night making our date start off the wrong way.

Great service every time we come in! Our server Shaun was very attentive, he listed the specials for the evening and we chose to go with the grilled lobster and sirloin with our choice of veggies (Brussels SO JUICY & Broccolini FLAVORFUL) It was all delicious! Definitely worth it. My favorite cocktail is the Blood Orange Margarita it has the perfect light taste and goes perfectly with any dish. Managers Shane and Robin stopped by to welcome us. Comfortable atmosphere all around. Thank you :)

My family and I come here specifically for the black cod and mushroom rice pot dish. They are outstanding and consistently delicious (only at this Old Orchard location). Every side dish we have tried has been just as delicious. For my mother’s bday, they gave complimentary ice cream w a candle. Service is flawless too.

Have been here 3x so far: twice for lunch and this time for dinner. My go-to is the escolar tataki and the Korean lamb bento lunch box. Yummy!
This time went for my birthday dinner: went for the waygu sirloin with the roasted bone marrow- the steak was cooked medium and was so tender and the bone marrow was great with the ginger soy sauce and rice. WE had 2 side dishes: the corn and the mushrooms- they cooked those on the robata grill and served with garlic/ginger soy butter. Yum! My son had the salmon- he ate it all and the pork ribs were tender, fall off bone, but nice char from the robata grill. Dessert: chocolate cake with sesame banana ice cream- cake was good. My son did not share the ice cream. Ube pot de crème is unique dessert- purple sweet potato- had vanilla like taste- a bit thicker than pudding-delicious. The jackfruit/strawberry ice cream- was good- needed more jackfruit to me though. Would go again.

Food and waitstaff were excellent. However, I felt that I wasn’t welcomed by the hostess. Don’t know if she was having a bad day, but her faced said it all. She looked like she didn’t want to be there and didn’t want to deal with anybody. My husband also felt that vibe coming from the hostess. We were 15 min early for our reservation. She said we are too early because our table wasn’t even ready yet. I didn’t expect our table to be ready nor the attitude we received. I like being 15 min early. She did tell us to have a good night but from the tone of her voice, it didn’t sound like she meant it. Otherwise everything else was great.

It's a nice place, good service, good food. but make sure you do not sit at the table with the couch that has a shared back with the adjoining table. If the other patrons sit or lean against the back with some energy, you get an uncomfortable bump. If they keep moving, it's very annoying - which happened to me.

Great service and food. There was an attentive manager on the floor and our server was very personable. We went to celebrate a birthday and they provided a complimentary dessert.
The restaurant is on the smaller side. I would recommend to couples and smaller parties.

The place was crowded and load but not too ridiculous. Strangely, the crab legs were REALLY fishy and not really edible. For better or worse, they were nice enough to take them off the bill without incident...

The food was amazing. We were there for Valentine’s Day and it was elegant. The only down side is they had a limited menu for the evening. Given food allergies and my husbands cold we did not want to order from the fixed VDay menu. I’d recommend this place.

Food was delicious. They have a coal burning grill which gave the ribeye a tasty crispy char. Wife had a deliciously flavorful black cod dish.

Brian, our server, knew his menu options and did an excellent job of explaining the different 'Bento Box' options. The miso soup was served piping hot and ingredients in were plentiful. The salad that came with our lunch would have easily been an entree salad at other restaurants. The dressing was excellent! Our dishes came out beautifully prepared and presented.

They have a robust saki selection as well as several artisan teas

It was a very comfortable and unrushed lunch.

An all time fave for excellent ramen, sushi and bento boxes from low priced lunch specials ($10 mushroom ramen to fantastic bento boxes with all the fixings). I start with the freshly brewed green tea. My personal faves are the spicy fried tofu (not so spicy but ask for some togarashi on the side), the chili edamame (very spicy), mushroom ramen, toss up btwn the green with ginger wasabi dressing or the beet salad w miso and almonds, and hamachi any style from the crudo to the hamachi maki with serrano. Fun place with outstanding service (thanks Brian!)
for 2 or for larger groups. Lunch or dinner. Love it!
