food is awful extremely expensive food and quantity is very small steak served without any sides i wish i can put charge back to them.. i feel like crying i paid $400 for nothing..
Great service and the food was all perfectly prepared and presented. It is good to see all our favorite servers back . Nice to be going out again. Thank you for a wonderful experience tonight.
Brian our server was the best! Food was amazing!
Unreal taste from the charcoal grill
Service is excellent
Price is expensive but very good food
Always a great experience. The manager sent us an interesting dish to get us started. For this we thank him.
Food just wasn't seasoned! If we didn't get soy sauce sushi that we used with our our meal the meal would have been terrible. The pork belly as was super dry which again the soy sauce helped. the hot pot rice was advertised with fresh black truffle but there was no truffle flavor at all and there was no visible truffles in the pot at all
Truly amazing. One of the best restaurants in Chicago!!!! The ambiance does not match the phenomenal food!!!
Our server was Brian, who we’ve known for years and he is always always attentive and always pleasant and extremely nice. And the food was great. We always have an awesome dining experience there and that’s why we always bring our out of town family and friends there!
The new manager sucks
After this dinner we talked about how many times we have dined in the restaurant and have NEVER had anything but a great experience! Make sure to try their ice creams and sorbets for dessert. Great finish to a wonderful meal!
Went after dance recital to celebrate wedding anniversary. Sat outside which was nice but you are looking at mall parking lot. Food was amazing and ordered enough to have plenty of leftovers which were amazing day 2 as well. Pork belly and beef dumplings apps were insane. Got some rolls and steak with aïoli truffle which was so good. Would go again.
Awful fishy smelling and tasting spicy tuna roll. When I told the waiter, he wasn’t surprised and immediately brought me a freshly made roll. The first one was clearly made with old, left over tuna that was minced and mixed with spicy sauce. Nothing could mask its putrid stench. WILL NEVER GO BACK!! This isn’t acceptable anywhere, but at an expensive fine dining restaurant it’s inexcusable!!
Overall the food was good. The staff was trying to seat us at the corner in between the bathroom and kitchen, so we decided to sit outside the patio. Although, the view still ain't worth it for the price we paid for the bill.
Always good food
Staff is great and food is always consistently good
Four of us had a wonderful lunch yesterday to celebrate one friend's birthday. As usual, it was an elegant, delicious meal. We had a terrific waiter, several wonderful kinds of sushi including a 4 tuna dish, and three terrific desserts. What a wonderful treat! Two of us drove 90 miles to go there.
The service was amazing! Food was amazing! I would come there agin! Jovo was amazing!
Outstanding. Didn’t know what to expect from a sushi place in a mall but turned out to be great. Super fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend this place over some of the overpriced mediocre spots throughout the city.
It’s always a pleasure to dine here! The food is beautifully presented. The Waite staff friendly and on task. Great suggestions always and just a great evening out. We have sampled almost everything on the menu and it’s all delicious. Bravo!
I’ve been to the Roka in oakbrook and Chicago , both felt like fine dining experiences. This one here in Skokie was by far my least favorite. Service was subpar and the waiter was rude in trying to get us to leave. I’d much rather have a waiter respectfully say it’s close to closing time, rather than give passive aggressive subtle hints with rude tones. We finished dessert, I paid, left a 30 percent tip , and every few minutes the waiter or bus boy would do something at our table to hint for us to leave. Until finally at the end he rudely took my drink wiped something and said have a nice night in such a horrible tone. I took the final hint and left right then and there. I’d much rather the staff politely tell us to leave. It wasn’t even closing time yet. I will never come back to this location. I received better service at an Apple Bee’s.
We went with our two young children for a meal outside of rush hours - at 2.45pm. We were nervous bc we have not dined out during the pandemic at all, since March 2019 & our children are unvaccinated. We picked outdoor seating - which was lovely, under a white tent with open sides beside each table. The tables and chairs weren’t very clean but the place was otherwise spaced out and fine. The servers were not wearing gloves but everyone was masked. I explained to the server our state of mind and also requested a bin or bowl to deposit used alchohol wipes in bc I would be wiping a few things down. I didn’t know if he would treat me well, but he went above and beyond in being careful about placing food, understanding that I wouldn’t want him touching things I had wiped down, and providing me with several small paper boxes for garbage, which he’d keep switching out to keep our space clean. The food was delicious and we all relaxed and had a lovely time. So very grateful for his extremely courteous and kind service. Highly recommend!
Food and service were both good but I specifically requested inside seating for the ambience of the kitchen and the decor of the main dining room. We were seated in the separate glass annex, and while it is technically inside, the long featureless room feels completely separate from the dining room and more part of Old Orchard car park. Not what we had expected and will be more specific when booking if we go back.
Complimentary champagne was a lovely touch.
As always, delicious food served attentively. Fabulous place for lunch or dinner!
When we first walked into the restaurant we were concerned we made a bad choice. The inside is very small and seating looked uncomfortable. The outside seating was in a tent and some of the chairs were just wood with no seat cushions. However, the food was outstanding and more then made up for the ambiance.
There were 3 of us and we split the salad with mixed greens and avocado, Sea Scallops, Tempura Shrimp, Spice Tuna Rolls, Pot Stickers and Black Cod. All fantastic with the Black Cod being our favorite.
Delicious, we will go again!
Great outdoor space
Excellent meal and excellent service!! We love Roka Akor!
It was our 50th wedding anniversary and we were greeted warmly from the minute we entered. Our waiter, Brian was terrific! Made us feel very special!
i was not happy for last lunch time on May 12th.
My name is Shinai Lee
the hosting person seemed to insist us to sit at terrace.
i unusually sit at inside table.
the waiter service was good.
but at the end...
he cleaned table while i was eating.
I felt like he kicked me out of the restaurant.
Roke Akor is one of my favorite restaurant .
I feel like " I am not welcomed "
Had a fantastic Mother’s Day lunch at Roka Akor!!
Service was great - took exceptional care of us and were so kind to my Mom.
Beautiful fresh fish, great sauces - everything we ordered was delicious. The scallops are 2 pieces per order and our server offered the option to add a 3rd (we were a group of 3). Loved that!
Thank you, Roka Akor!! Looking forward to our next time!
Great food and service. Will definitely return in the future.
No vibe…. View to a parking lot on the backside of a mall.
FYI- the Vibe of this Roka Akor is not the same as downtown chicago location. Food is still excellent though! Just a smaller location that doesn’t have much of a vibe nor great ambiance. Much smaller too.
Lovely atmosphere, excellent food and service. Ate “outside” but not underneath direct sunlight, lots of air circulating. Can’t wait to go back.
$70 for lunch is a bit much when you get sub par food. It wasn’t disgusting - just the noodles in the ramen were rubbery and the tempura was bland.
We were pleasantly surprised with the taste and presentation. It was our 1st time going here and we absolutely love it. Our server was Dan and he was amazing. He made many recommendations and we tried some. His recommendations were spot on. We look forward to going back as soon as we are back in that area.
Great service great food. Thanks Lee!
Everything was perfect. The best food and service we have had at any restaurant since the beginning of the pandemic. The spicy tuna crispy rice was heaven. Our waiter was phenomenal. We enjoyed it so much.
Roka Akor is amazing! We are there every month or two and have never left disappointed. Meals/sushi are aways prepared beautifully and the food is to die for! The service is above and beyond with the best hosts and servers who are very friendly and who always remember who you are and are aways welcoming you back. So much praise to everyone there. Manager has truly done a great job!
