This is the only place we can agree to visit repeatedly! The service is always fantastic. The food is amazing. For the first time, we went for a birthday dinner & they made it extra special for my husband’s birthday
Mark did a fantastic job. 10/10 service
Best bone in ny strip I’ve ever had
Our waiter, Abraham, was awesome. Perfect level of attention and very helpful with the menu. Take his suggestions - spot on. The food was great. Loved the space. Romantic, chic, fun, & foodie!
Everything was delicious. Table of 5, we shared all the dishes. Ambiance was very comfortable and the music wasn’t too loud. A nice spot for any type of gathering. Service and food was quick! Will definitely be coming back.
The Decadent Omakase Chef's Tasting Menu was truly amazing. Each course was a delight. The sushi and sashimi were the freshest I have had and outstanding. The wasabi was real and ground at the table. There was gold leaf and other touches that impressed and enhanced the experience. Each dish was pleasing visually, and to the pallet. The service was impeccable - I wait staff knew the dishes and gave interesting histories and descriptions. Truffles were amazing. The deserts were incredible. What a night of decadent eating A +++
Always great food and service. We love the rolls and the glazed ribs are delicious. Great wine selection too.
This is a terrific place, octopus was perfectly grilled, sashimi were excellent, the vegetables were delicious and the sorbet was nice
My favorite place downtown
Always delicious & beautifully presented selections !
Best dining experience I have had in some time. From the hostess to the waiter to the chefs - I would give 10 stars of possible. Someone is doing something right there! Food was delicious, service was impeccable - could not have had a better dinner.
Exceptional food, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough.
Great food, stylish
The scallop makis were amazing, fresh product, lots of varieties of wagyu
Portions were very small, not enough. The ambient and service was great
Great food and service. Loved everything.
My second visit to this great place. I was able to share this experience with my family and it lived up to my expectations, and memory. We had truly extraordinary service, and exceptional entries.
Excellent moment dans ce restaurant ! Très bons plats , service parfait ; un peu bruyant , comme souvent aux États Unis...
Great place. For food lovers... Only. Phantastic. If you do Not like This or that....
Coming from Germany and never missing the opportunity to enjoy Roka. Great Team. Great Chef.
Had a wonderful experience, service was geeat
First time I had chicken teriyaki and it was just ok. All other bento boxes I’ve tried at lunch have been better.
The Roka Akor is just outstanding!
We took the signature menu which was just excellent! The quality of the food and the presentation were really at a top-level.
Service was perfect. There is simply no negative point.
Staff is incredibly polite and professional. A great venue for business or personal.
Love Roka Akor, great food, great service. We eat there twice a month if not more. I highly recommend it.
Roka Akor is my top choice of restaurant in Chicago. Dine here as many times as I can.
Just excellent all the way around. Food quality and service are 5 stars. Seated instantly for our 7:45 PM Saturday reservation, waiter was table side with in 2 minutes, service was fast but not hurried, food was great. The octopus grilled and the Lobster/shrimp dumplings were 5 stars. Great value too.
Got the deluxe omakase and the food was a 6/5 - phenomenal.
But for the price, was unimpressed by the takeout-quality disposable chopsticks, and the whiskey glasses provided for our sake (we were told the “little sake cups” were all being washed).
Overall, if you’re going for the food, you won’t be disappointed. But don’t expect a true Japanese-style steakhouse experience.
The food is absolutely amazing, but we couldn't understand how we could be getting a $400 meal (and worth it, for the food) in a restaurant which is essentially a glorified sports bar. I'm super puzzled. Also the waitress kept stopping by the table to slap us on the back, figuratively, and encourage us with comments like, "you're almost there!" Definitely weird.
Best place for bdays! They give you free champagne toast, app, and desert with a candle!
Refined service, wonderful food and presentation. The omakase needs a directory as it was tough to remember all the items. The only negative is the expediting of the orders to the staff is overwhelming if sitting nearby. Headsets maybe?
Great food, but very loud.
Excellent experience. Very good service and food. Would highly recommend
overall a good experience, a little noise but the ambience and food were very good. I recommend it!
Ta lo conocíamos y nos gusta mucho y esta ves no fue la excepción
It's easy to get a seat for a business lunch. Quality of food is superb, and we really enjoyed the outdoor seating on a nice summer day.
Our server, Anthony, recommended specific dishes and drinks, which we appreciated. We ordered a number of items he recommended. Food and drinks were delicious!
Treated wonderfully. Best dining experience my colleagues and I had this week while working in Chicago.
We had sashimi, tempura, desert of the day, these were excellent! We dined twice at the restaurant in a few days time. We'll be back during our next visit to Chicago!
The service was super! Thanks !
Hot in restaurant. Food and drinks were meh.
We went to Roka Akor for a friend’s birthday. Everything was fabulous from the time we sat down until we were finished. We tried a wide variety from the menu and enjoyed everything. We will definitely return as we had an excellent evening!
The food was incredible. Kudos to our waitress Katherine who diligently walked us through the menu. Try the pork belly appetizer and fried octopus. Both delicious. The Toro tartare was the only disappointment of the night. It seemed a bit flat and likely needed salt. Second course we shared scallop and big fin tuna sashimi along with Unami nigiri and two maki. All excellent and served at the perfect temperature. The talk of the night however were the main entrees. Our table of four shared the sirloin with bone marrow, the black cod, the mushroom rice in a pot, and our favorites of the favs, the sweet potato and lamb chops. Due to a slight and almost unnoticed delay in the timing of our second course, chef sent over a delectable assortment of dessert and fruit gratis. The “purple” dessert was not to be missed. Just ask for it by color. They’ll know what you mean even if it’s not on the menu. I know it’s hard to distinguish between all the fantastic restaurants in Chicago but put this one at the top of your list.
Food was delicious, as was expected. We typically do the decadent omakase. One odd thing that we noticed was that the amount of food for a 3 person omakase was almost the same as the 2 person omakase that we’ve done in the recent past. Not sure how that works. Wine selection is pretty good and the sommelier come over to help us choose a good bottle of red to go with the second half of our meal. Water glasses were always full and waitstaff were constantly circling to clear dirty utensils and plates. Service was good. Noise level is loud enough that we found ourselves shouting at times to hold a conversation on a Friday night.
