Roka Akor’s menu changes seasonally, including a rotating selection of prime-cut steaks, seafood, and vegetables with Japanese-inspired marinades and sauces, along with sushi and sashimi. We are also know for being one of the only restaurants in the United States to serve authentic Japanese Wagyu and Kobe Beef.
The restaurant’s design features a centrally located robata grill that provides the heart of the visual experience, surrounded by contemporary décor and sleek lighting. Guests are encouraged to speak with the chefs about the food to create an interactive and engaging dining experience.

Simply put it was amazing. We had the Valentine’s Day special and it was a true dining experience. Fresh ingredients and talented chefs really make a difference. My wife and I really enjoyed our meal.
The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. And before this vist I I didn't really consider myself to be a sushi person but I was able to try a few different options and enjoyed them all. The shrimp tempura is also a must try
Came for Valentine’s Day and had a great time. Food and atmosphere were great! Service was a bit slow and we had to wait to be seated even though we were early for our reservation time. Overall would recommend.
Great environment. Food was spectacular, especially the prime rib eye! It was cooked to perfection. Anthony our server took care of us like we were his only guests!

We have visited Roka Akor many times before. I was excited to bring 2 friends for Restaurant Week. The food was great as always. Too loud for our liking as it made it hard to talk. The server did not mention the RW menu which was right in front of us. I didn’t feel we got the usual RA welcome and explanation of the menu nor were we asked if we had dined before. With deals you always worry you will be treated differently and I do feel so in this case. There was a mix up with the entrees which was our fault but the server promptly corrected it thank you so that was great! We had a 11.30 reservation so restaurant was only just getting busy...
Food was great, service was not good, had to ask for silverware, drinks constantly not refilled, overall for a place of that caliber a big let down.
Went for Restaurant Week and we enjoyed the meal. The ambiance is excellent and service was first rate. We will definitely be back.
For me the signs of a very good restaurant begin with the fact that no matter what you order everything on the menu is going to be excellent. I happen to be a very very good cook when I go out to eat I want dishes better than I can make and I've never ever been disappointed buy anything at Roka. Further, the service is always been very good and while the few minutes of interaction with the weight person it's not exactly a deep and meaningful relationship, but many restaurants, the service is a bit perfunctory what do you want here's your check but the service at Roka has always been a little better than most.
We were there for the restaurant Week dinner which was a real bargain and it happened that we went there on the night of Super Bowl which meant it was was very quiet and so many restaurants pack tables together so close that is impossible to carry on a conversation.
So on every score, they do a great job and should get five stars
This is one of the best restaurants in Chicago. Both the food & service are always spectacular. Our waiter, Seung, was fantastic this evening and went above & beyond. I can’t wait to visit again soon!
We were seated in the front “lounge” area, and did not find the table and chairs to be comfortable for a normal seated dinner. We would have much preferred to be seated in the normal dining area.
Great all around. Had the restaurant week lunch menu. Might have been the best dumplings and teriyaki chicken I’ve ever had.
The experience as a whole was amazing. We choose the restaurant week menu and the portions were great. I wish that the Brussels weren’t drenched in whatever sauce it came with but over than that everything was good. The service however, was almost non existent. My friend arrived before me and placed her drink order, then I placed mine. After waiting for our drinks our server dropped them off and gave us a thumbs up and walked away. We were ready to order but couldn’t. After waiting she finally came back and asked if we were ready. We ordered and then never saw her again until after the dessert.
Gorgeous venue, excellent customer service and absolutely delicious menu options. The best value I've seen for restaurant week so far. I'll be back soon!

It's our first time here, and it didn't disappoint. We wanted to try something new during the Restaurant Week and Roka Akor offers a very enticing menu compares to lots of other restaurants. I made the reservation and was able to get a table and sit down before my husband arrived, that's a good start already as I hate restaurants that refuse to sit you unless the whole party arrive. The waiter was very friendly, attentive, and recommended many tasty dishes to us. We like every single dish we order, including appetizer, main course and dessert, which is rare for us as we're a bit of picky eaters. Needless to say, we'll be back soon to taste their Chef's Taste Menu.
We went here for a mini-celebration and the experience exceeded my expectations. It was restaurant week, so we all went in on the deal and were blown away by the quality of food. Most of us had the wagyu beef, which is incredible and deliciously prepared. The sushi was also impeccable, and the vegetarian dishes had a good deal of variety (not just mushrooms, which is common for the veggie option). Our server was lively and attentive, and brought us a complimentary taste of champagne for our dessert (the Ube cream was amazing) that perfectly capped off the evening. The only complaint I have is that the music was a little loud, so conversation was difficult at time. Otherwise, 10/10 recommend, especially during restaurant week!
First time ever , and will most definitely be back . Our server Casey delivered outstanding service , with attention to detail and complete knowledge of the menu . We enjoyed all of our delicious food plated beautifully . The Snake River Wagyu melted in my mouth and my husband’s Black Cod , tasty and fresh . The appetizers . Maki Roll and Tataki were fresh , so full of flavor .. I can’t say enough . - Beautiful ambiance , outstanding service and spectacular food . A MUST in Chicago .

Dope corner spot where you can see life in downtown chicago happen. Good steak, great sushi, and my better half enjoyed her Wagyu. Pricing is a bit steep based on quality, but it was a really modernized steak house with plenty of choices.
I went for restaurant week with my husband and parents. The food was amazing and for an amazing price. Iv been one other time and it was excellent in both food quality and service. They are super nice and real pros.
