We had no idea what to expect but it sure turned out to be a wonderful Mother's Day! Not being overly familiar with the fondue concept, we had to be educated. Then came the Rok - a super hot griddle that's placed before each of you so you can cook your meat/seafood, etc., to your personal desire. The Pesto Orzo as a side item was Divine! This was great for entertaining and to share different items on the menu. Thumbs up to our server, Amy! Very engaging and witty, and we will be back!

Server left out to hang. Drinks wrong. By the time they fixed that, the appetizer was gone. Then we waited for our entrees. First delay was for the baked potatoe. They had none. Ok will take the orzo and pesto. Then more delay as they did not have a rock hot enough. Finally had enough. Manager comped us our entrees. The steak was great, but not worth the aggravation.

We haven't been back to this restaurant for several years, so decided to try it again for Mother's Day for an early (4pm) dinner. The prices have increased (but that is true across the board.) The servers were rushed (Mother's Day) but truly friendly and helpful. I always love the Ahi Tuna with the Rok preparation.

My son took me for Mother’s Day. The server was very nice and helped us out with selections. The manager stopped by and gave me a rose for the celebration. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it to be worth the price. Great place!

If you like fondue, savory or sweet, this is a must try experience. It’s not cheap, but so very good. For us, it’s a toss up between this restaurant and Roy’s. They aren’t similar, but both just as good.

Let’s start with this: the food was great. If you’re looking for a cool fondue spot (there aren’t many left in SoCal), Rok n Fondue is legit. That said, despite the food, they kinda miss the little things. I had a visibly, texturally dirty knife in my napkin roll. Told my server, who said she’d bring a new one — then never did. We ordered a Caesar salad to split as an appetizer. The server asked if we wanted a second plate. We said yes. It never came. We ordered an appetizer cheese fondue. It sat at the table for so long that the water fully evaporated and the remaining cheese started to burn. Had to turn off the burner. Don’t get me wrong, everyone working there was incredibly nice. And they had terrific live music playing. I understand nearly all restaurants are chronically understaffed, and despite all the empty tables, I don’t know how much workload Escher server can handle. Perhaps my bar is set too high. Will leave it to future Rok n Fondue patrons to decide how far off the mark this review is.

The food was good it always is! The service from the host and manager assisting the host not so good. The host and manager were at the entrance together and they made us feel unwelcome, this started the whole experience off feeling like I should have went somewhere else. If the manager had just used some basic hospitality and organization the whole experience would have been different.

Waiter started out awesome however it took quite a while to see him. Wait staff slow entire time. Our cheese was not at all tasty. I did smell some delicious foods coming from other areas so maybe we tried wrong late. It wasn’t bad but honestly just so so. Oh and the most uncomfortable chairs to be sitting in for any length of time. Otherwise it could have a good social vibe.

A few things ruined what would have been a nice experience. Service was slow, we were there for over 2 hours, nothing arrived at our table for over a half hour from being seated. When the heat was turned on for the fondue pot by the waiter, it started smoking and we were exposed to horrible smoke smell. About 20 minutes later the waiter arrived and noted no water was in the base of the pot - a mistake. A platter of fondue items was accidently dropped by waiter upon arrival. The waiter was sweating enough for sweat to drip as he stood by the table side and hovered over the table stirring the fondue. We were unable to order additional drinks when needed. The food was OK overall, however the salad ordered was missing the candied nuts described on the menu.

Portions have gotten smaller than they used to be. $22 for cheese fondue that only fills up half the pot is not worth it value wise. It was like I paid for a full portion, but only received a half portion.

I made a birthday reservation and not only did they seat me at a table in literally the hallway to the bathroom, with no view, no windows, no artwork, but they then forgot to actually assign me a waiter so my friend and I sat alone in that hallway for half an hour before we asked and were finally given a waiter. Never going back.

Service was amazing. All the staff greeted us and the wait staff was quick with the food and clean up. Our server was amazing, he explained to us rookies each general item on the menu and the types of entree services. Everything was quick and delicious. This was my first time coming and I loved coming there. Will definitely be coming again. I love the Redlands ambiance, and being upstairs next to the window was a nice treat.

I feel so bad about the servers they were so great customer service was on point. But I have to leave this review because this meal was over $200 and I hardly ate any of it first off a reservation was it 830 but they were so backed up we didn’t get seated till closer to 10. We just got home. It’s now 1 AM.. we had a full night of just waiting around. I don’t think I would ever return here and I really think this is very over priced & poorly planned. So our 830 reservation came with a one and a half hour wait, our first course out of three courses was almost inedible due to the heinous amounts of garlic. Our server was very sweet and fix this, but it took a while. We also did not have any utensils initially. Our second course my husband were ordered fondue I Ordered a steak with 2 sides. The fondue was OK. It was not seasoned. My steak came with two sides and was also another $16 up charge. The two sides were inedible. One was a very over cooked or so and one was a very under cooked baked potato. Dessert was supposed to be bananas, foster but you couldn’t really taste anything other than chocolate. The rum wasn’t even cooked off. As far as Valentine’s Day meals go, this was terrible. Probably the worst meal I’ve had in a long time. I feel really bad for the servers who were clearly overworked and overwhelmed, and tried everything to make the day better.

Initially had problem with seating as they placed a table of 4 on a table made for 2. They corrected that problem after some complaint but then rushed us to finish as they had another party coming behind us. Spent over 400 dollars, food was ok, but don’t think I’ll be returning following this experience.
