About Rojo Mexican Grill - St. Louis Park
Rojo Mexican Grill serves new culinary creations and many traditional dishes, such as quesadillas, tacos and enchiladas, but with bold new flavors or in unique presentations. Ingredients, such as the tortillas, guacamole, and salsas, are made fresh from scratch each day. And Rojo uses special proprietary blends of Mexican spices to create the unique recipes.
The stylish restaurant seats more than 280 guests and was designed to evoke traditional Mexican décor, but with a modern influence. Warm woods and soft red upholstery are offset by accents of leather, stone and steel. The dining room offers traditional table service and a generous view of the kitchen where diners can watch food prepared throughout the process. Three centrally located tables are dedicated to preparing hand-rolled tortillas, fresh guacamole and salsa in full view each day.

Rojo Mexican Grill - St. Louis Park Ratings and Reviews
The food felt slightly overpriced for size of the portions. The quality was decent but nothing special.
Most inportantly, my girlfriend and I both ended up with tender stomachs and going to the bathroom a lot for the next couple days after we ate here.
The margaritas were good but we won't be eating anything but the chips and salsa in the future.
This restaurant has fairly good food, nothing special. The atmosphere is nice but noisy. Our server was very good, but the food is delivered by other staff. When our guacamole arrived, the bowl was literally dropped on the table from behind my husband's shoulder. Really...dropped right in front of him and just keep walking. I mentioned this to our server and she comped our guacamole and dessert. This restaurant wasn't really good, and certainly wasn't bad. Not somewhere I would look forward to going to again.
Service was very slow. Drinks were machine-made and way too strong - burned on the
way down, they were returned and after much ado, the bill was credited. Gluten-free
and dairy allergies were very poorly accommodated, no adjustments were made for
menu items that couldn't be served or eaten.
We were at Rojo for an early dinner/happy hour. The lobster taco was the highlight. The quesadilla was standard and not worth having. The free Chips and salsa were good. The Margarita was too intense -too sweet and too heavy.
The server was great despite having a large number of tables. We had a nice time and I would certainly go back. It's an easy location to just sit back and relax for an hour or so while shopping at the west end or before or after the movie especially in the summer.
The patio seating was great on a lovely day. We especially enjoy the avocado egg rolls, tacos, and enchiladas with green sauce. I really appreciate that they substitute two servings of the sticky rice for the normal refried beans. Our server, Tiffany, was busy but dropped by to check on us several times. I recommend this restaurant in the West End complex.
We didn't even know who our server was. They acted like we were a burden whenever we would request to put in an order for drinks. One of the servers said that they "work as a team" and that's why we were handled by multiple members of the staff. I probably won't return, this was pretty bad.
Went to Rojo for son's graduation celebration. Hostess had us down as a reservation for 4; but clearly from above it should have been 5. Seemed put out by having to make arrangements for 5 even though restaurant wasn't busy. Food was excellent and waitress was good but did miss on bringing a second beer for one of our diners.
We were sat in a booth back by the kitchen. I sat for 10 minutes without anyone approaching the table as I waited for my friend. Finally a manager came by with chips and salsa. I had already ordered a drink from the bar as I waited for my table. My friend arrived about 715pm. I was seated at 655pm. The waiter finally came by at 720pm. No welcome, just asked my friend if she wanted a drink. There were servers rolling silver and someone slicing tomatoes off to the side of us. Very noisy and distracting. I would recommend not using that booth unless it's absolutely necessary. I will not return.
I frequent rojo often for both business and personal... I'm obsessed with their rice. I always do no beans double rice. Today...There was a hair in my rice. I was at a business meeting and did not want to fuss so I stopped eating instead. There will be plenty of time before I return.
The service we received was above and beyond from multiple staff members. My husband and I went out for an impromptu date night. I had a salad, he had a soup and we shared the corn on the cob appetizer as well as the fajitas. There was plenty of food and we too home enough for lunch the next day as well.
Prices are exorbitant for the actual food quality, and I won't be going back. No access to happy hour in a dining room that was essentially empty. At one time, this was an OK place to eat but the food and service have deteriorated as prices have soared. Count me out.
