Very disappointed that Open Table made this reservation and when I arrived the restaurant was no longer in business.
This restaurant was closed but open table let me make mothers day reservations anyway. It was a disaster. I will never use open table again.
Real Classy, Rojo.
It was really unfortunate that Open table allowed me to reserve this place for Mothers Day when it was closed(at the time your website didn't say that it was closed). Very distressing.
Restaurant is closed!!
Cousins birthday dinner 4 months late 😀
Gross - no other word describes this. We had to wait over an hour for food that was marginally prepared. The dishes were not clean and we had to wait to to get clean dishes. Had so many chips that who is hungry after an hour??
Always good food, complementary chips and salsa are good. Some of the best margaritas in town! EVerything we have had off of menu is always tasty. USually get right in, do not have to wait, this is a bonus!
Great margaritas - she loved the skinny margarita - best she has ever had - food was tasty - got the chicken enchiladas with the spicier sauce - not really all that spicy but still very good. They still have free chips and salsa - some places now charge. Decor was meh - but the staff and food overcomes the bland space. You can shop at the mall before and after
Our team celebrated a successful project at the Rojo Mexican Grill. The food was excellent and the staff was professional. We had a great time.
This was our first time at Rojo in Rosedale and unfortunately it didn't meet our expectations. We've only ever had great experiences at the other locations so we were bummed to say the least. The booth we were seated in was dirty, and the food subpar. The waitstaff was great but other than that I wasn't impressed.
Good drinks..Food was not good with very small portions and over priced.
We made a reservation and they were able to accommodate our party of 8 about 30minutes earlier because we were done shopping. The servers and other staff replenished our chips and salsa when it got low. Kid/s menu has 3 options and no meat (quesadilla, mac and cheese or bean burrito)! That was disappointing but the activities kept the kids buys until the food arrived. Food was good, value was tasty for sure. I ordered the 3 chicken taco meal (came with rice and beans) for $10.75 to share with one of the kids in our group. The server offered to add a taco for extra charge. When the bill came, the 1 extra taco was $4.50, that seemed pretty steep. Overall fun, noisy enough to not disrupt other's with kids but not so noisy that we couldn't talk to the group.
It was seriously good. Our waiter was excellent. He was so sweet and helpful. We are definitely going back.
Crazy busy "Black Friday" crowd. Restaurant seemed short-staffed but everyone was still pleasant and lunch was delicious.
My favorite Mexican food in town. nothing beats Rojo in my book and I live in Mexico for two years.
My main complaint was when I booked our reservation @545 m, I wanted a 6 reservation, but there was none available. When we arrived at 545, the restaurant was a ghost town and didn't start filling in until 7 when we were finished and leaving. Not sure why a reservation wasn't available at our desired time. Otherwise our service and food were great.
Expensive for what we had. 2 quesadilla's from the appetizer menu, a sofa and a lemonade for 32.00. They were okay, not great. Our server was practically non-existent. He dropped the bill off, and as my guest had to go back to work, I motioned to him in passing that we were finished with the bill. I had put 40.00 in the bill case which he grabbed. Never saw nor heard from him again. Granted I would have told him "no change", but was never given the chance. I probably would not go back.
Didn't like the menu. I only wanted one taco, but had to order all four. My husband wanted a chicken enchilada and a beef enchilada, like other Mexican restaurants offer. He couldn't do that either. Had to be all chicken or all beef. We will not go back to this restaurant.
The atmosphere was fun! The food was great, I love any place that'll give you free chips & salsa to start! The margaritas are HUGE and SO good! The service was great. We went for Taco Tuesday, and it was definitely worth it.
Server was excellent. The cheese tortilla (looked like a pizza) was excellent. Meatloaf portion was very large. Burrito was so-so. Chicken burrito with a smoky flavored sauce kind of overpowered it. Overall, it was good.
It was a little disturbing -I got a notice that the reservation was canceled.
When I came up a fellow came up to me and I said I have a reservation for 11:30 he asked what APP I said open table. We were actually 5 min early. So apparently he did not know how to check in guest. The complaint responded already and corrected it. In the many times I have used open table I never had this issue.
We tried Rojo, which is in a large shopping mall near us, thinking we could become regulars. We will not be eating there much. We have dined at many such restaurants all over the country, and this was not impressive. For a major mall, there were not many diners there during regular hours. Perhaps it is because the drinks and food are way overpriced. Granted, the food shows some thought and fresh ingredients are apparent. But the suburban dining public has too many alternatives to pay the prices here. The cheapest cocktail, the house margarita, is $9.50, and almost all of the other drinks are in the $12 and up range. If the food was ample and tasty enough, it would be worth the cost. But the portions are very small compared to comparable restaurants in the area. The three-taco dinner had three tiny (3-inch) soft beef tortillas piled with a small heap of toppings, with such a small portion of the beef that it must have been no more than one tablespoon on each taco. I would call them mini tostados. They were so small it was impossible to pick them up to eat them. It was appetizer-size fork food. The tiny portion of refried beans was tasty, but very small. The rice had none of the usual tomato color...it was white with tiny bits of corn and green onion. The soups were flavorful. There are too many other TexMex and Mexican dining spots around that serve huge platters of tasty foods and reasonable cocktails.
I found the food fair, nothing really to write home about. The rice was a bit sweet. The waiter staff were very good and attentive throughout our dinner.
Everything was great except for the waiter who was handling the booth on the other side of ours. He was very annoying. Carried on long loud conversations with the people he was waiting on. Brought it to our servers attention before we left. While offered we chose not to bring it to the managers attention.
Food was good. Bar area was very hot and restaurant area was a little cooler, but still rather warm. The service in the bar was slow so we switched to a regular table in the restaurant.
Enjoyed lunch at Rojo. Food is good and waitstaff is EXCELLENT!
My husband and I felt that the food, service, and price all fell far below our expectations and we wouldn't try them again.
Excellent food and excellent service - really enjoyed it!
Terrible service. Food pretty good. Not sure I would go back because of the service.
They did not accept the "pay your tab on Open Table" so couldn't use my $20 credit for downloading the app to my phone. Even though Open Table said Rojo was enrolled.
The shrimp tacos are excellent and the skinny margarita is great, squeeze the lemon into it to reduce bitterness
The food was very good and the service was perfect. We will definitely return.
Taco Tuesday is s great value. 2 small chicken tacos for $6. Yummy.
Born and raised in the Southwest it's hard to find that flavor in MN. I was pleasantly surprised that Rojo actually had more of that unique flavor I have missed all these years. Entrees come with different choices of sauces and meat/no meat. A good place if your looking for a different flavor than most of the Mexican food places up north.
The food is so good there.
Our greeter was very sweet and nice. The food was just under a good rating. It wasn't particularly hot, minus the corn tortillas (we had the fajitas), but we didn't ask for anything to be changed, so I'm ok with it. The quesadillas tasted like normal cheese ones, so that 3 cheese blend wasn't obvious. The Margarita my brother had was apparently super good, and I was a huge fan of the ice cream. Keep your server and service good and you'll do ok.
We (4 adults) were really looking forward to trying out a new Mexican Southwestern food restaurant in the area. We had reservations for 5:00 PM and were seated immediately. Service was extremely slow. We waited 15 minutes before even being acknowledged then another 20 min. before order was taken. The Chips and Salsa were a big plus. The salsa was chunky and not watery with a great taste. Would go back just for that. Dinners were served promptly. I ordered a Shredded Beef Chimichanga which was supposed to be served with a green chili sauce (I love a good green chili sauce so I was looking forward to it) but it came with a red sauce. I asked the person who brought the meals to the table (I think he was the server manager) and he said the Chimichanga comes with red sauce (menu does say green sauce you would think he would know that). Our server asked if he could have the meal redone but I didn’t want to wait and be the only one eating. I did ask if I could have some green sauce on the side and he brought that to me. I was glad I asked for it because the red sauce tasted like Open Pit barbecue sauce. Adding the green sauce saved the meal. The others at the table had Meatloaf (recommended by the server) was just okay. Another had enchiladas and another a burrito (with green sauce) and they were happy with their meals. As for drinks two of us had a Rojo Margarita which we found very tasty. Did not have dessert.
I should also say our server was very friendly and tried his hardest to keep us happy.
Bar and food prices were high compared to "chain restaurant" level of service. That said, we will try again and hope for improvement in overall service.
Good food, good ambiance, and especially good service. Great experience, will recommend. You HAVE to try the flan!
