   The food was flavor packed and the flavor profiles rich, complementary, and layered. Worth a spurge once in awhile. My only complaint was the seating arrangement. I sat facing a wall with the rest of the room behind me and the table turned lengthwise made it harder to talk.

   I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant; from the cozy decor and friendly and prompt service to the delicious and perfectly prepared food, everything about Roe is a treat, and it all adds up to a wonderful experience. Our blackened cod and bavette steak were cooked to absolute perfection and so flavorful they absolutely justified the price. We will definitely return and highly recommend this jewel to everyone.

   My recent visit to Roe in Bellingham, WA was disappointing, primarily due to service and seating issues. Despite securing a 4:30 pm reservation through OpenTable, we were seated in a cramped section near the restroom, where three two-top tables were tightly arranged. The lack of space significantly detracted from the dining experience. Service was similarly underwhelming. Our server appeared rushed and inattentive, delivering dishes without pausing to check if we required additional items—such as lemon for the seafood. This lack of engagement and attention to detail diminished the quality of the meal and left us feeling overlooked. While Roe presents an enticing menu, the overall experience during my most recent visit suffered due to the poor execution of fundamental hospitality elements. Given the price point and reputation of the restaurant, a higher standard of service and guest comfort should be expected.

   Our piece of halibut was twice the size I expected and deliciously prepared. Next time we will be there earlier than 5:30 to take advantage of the happy hour deals.

   Our first dinner at Roe was outstanding! Delicious food & very tempting menu choices! We sat at the counter and enjoyed chatting with the chef & watching the culinary magic. It was fun to see the chefs preparing items that were ordered by others as well as seeing them prepare our order. We’ll be back!

   The chef at Roe is simply one of the more gifted chefs I have had the privelege to experience. He is an artist with flavor, texture, color and balance; he can isolate each contrasting note yet also meld the combination perfectly, and with layers of interest that keep on being revealed long after you swallow. The presentation was delightful. The service was exceptional, with knowledgeable waitstaff who were attentive without being overbearing, and seemed genuinely warm and welcoming. The is a jewel in Bellingham, and I fervently hope Roe will be here for years to come.
