We are a high-low, fine-casual concept making simple, seasonal American cuisine inspired by the culinary traditions of Italy, France, & Spain.

Expect to see dishes that you are used to seeing at fancy restaurants & some you would typically find at a drive-thru or dive bar. but they all are served on a plate from Goodwill.

Our menus are ever-changing, not just by the season but by the day. we embrace change, creativity & inspiration every chance we get.

For groups of 2 people, we recommend ordering 4-6 dishes from the three sections of the menu (depending on how hungry you are!). for example - 2 snacks, 1 small share plate, & 1 large share plate.

The food is designed to be enjoyed family-style. As such, your food will be coursed out as we see fit. for groups ordering individually, we will do our best to get your order out all at once, but you may experience some slightly longer wait times.

Roe is fun and unique. It fills a gap in the Bellingham restaurant scene, and I think people should check it out. HOWEVER (and I hesitate to write this among all these 5-star reviews!), I was not impressed with our menu selections. My "Okie-Dokie" cocktail was more like "Yuckie-Dokie"---the flavor bordered on foul. When I placed my order for the small-plate shrimp (there were five large shrimp), the server advised that each shrimp was intended to be eaten in its entirety--head, shell, and visible roe. The server didn't mention that each bite would end with a mouthful of tiny pieces of "shrimp shell," which my partner and I chose to spit out after each bite rather than swallow. Frankly, I thought it was kinda disgusting. And for something like $17, I felt gipped. I also ordered the beet salad. It was awful, too. I didn't see or taste any beets. Smothered under a flood of salad dressing, I did find two delicious candied walnuts, but otherwise, I might as well have enjoyed the dressing right out of the bottle! The food photos on the website look wonderful, but they do appear to OVER DRESS the food. Be forewarned. So we got one cocktail each, one glass of wine each, three "smaller plate" items (around $17-$20 each), and one dessert. We did NOT order any "larger (entree) plates." The tab with 20% tip (the service was good) came to $208. Sorry, but for two people to dine out (lightly!) and spend $208, I expect an awesome experiences, ESPECIALLY with regard to the food. It was not awesome. The food for us was mediocre. Sorry Roe. I wish I could say otherwise, but I probably won't be back.

Love the energetic atmosphere. Service was excellent. Food wasn't remarkable for how expensive the prices seem. The squash salad wasn't terribly flavorful, the black cod seemed overcooked and bland, and we found sand in a number of the clams. After tip it came to $180 for a table of two (3 cocktails). I'm not a food critic so take this with a grain of salt, but I can't afford to spend that much money on a very forgettable meal. It would be easy to find an equally enjoyable dinner for half that price all over town.

I can't rave enough about Roe! To start, I needed accommodation and when I sent an email to Roe stating that, the owner/chef Dan answered with the nicest reply...AND I was indeed accommodated! Izzy who greeted us at the door could not have been.sweeter, and Jack, our server, was a charmer. The menu offers American classics e.g., a burger and an unbelievably generous portion of skinny fries, as well as continental specialties like rich ricotta gnocchi. There is focused selection of Imported wines reasonably priced by the glass. The small plates offer original dishes like radishes and snap peas "salad". The warm cherry clafoutis with scoops of vanilla ice cream makes a lovely finale. Going out to dinner in Bellingham doesn't get any better than Roe.

We sat in the bar at the counter. The staff is great and the food even better! Love how quiet (in volume) the bar area is! Great place to dine and enjoy conversation.

Great food and nice staff! The ceiling is very high and makes it really noisy and I think some cushions on the chairs would be nice! Will definitely come back!

A true gem in Bellingham! From start to finish, the experience was delightful with warm service, beautiful ambiance, and an inventive menu that delivers. We enjoyed the chicken nuggets and caviar, beet salad, gnocchi, and Dungeness crab, all well prepared. While everything was fantastic (including the cocktails), the beet salad and Dungeness crab were absolute standouts. We’re thrilled to have this spot in town and can’t wait to come back.

Eight of us were at Roe to celebrate a couple of birthdays. took a look at the menu and each marked 2 items that we definitely wanted to try. One person consolidated that info and placed our orders to share with the whole table. Every bite was delicious, surprising, creative, fresh….. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Outstanding menu! The croquettes were original and delicious! And my non-fish eating husband also enjoyed the salmon. Halibut and steak were fantastic too.

Outstanding meal and a wonderful server. The only hiccup was that, in a party of two, the gnocchi arrived more than five minutes after the salmon, so we ended up eating in shifts. That said, the warmth of the service and the quality of the food more than made up for it. The albacore crudo was a perfect start, followed by incredibly fresh radishes and sugar snap pea salad. As for the mains, the gnocchi was among the best I’ve ever had, and the king salmon was equally impressive. Aside from the timing glitch, it was a fantastic dining experience.
