   Our first dinner at Roe was outstanding! Delicious food & very tempting menu choices! We sat at the counter and enjoyed chatting with the chef & watching the culinary magic. It was fun to see the chefs preparing items that were ordered by others as well as seeing them prepare our order. We’ll be back!

   The chef at Roe is simply one of the more gifted chefs I have had the privelege to experience. He is an artist with flavor, texture, color and balance; he can isolate each contrasting note yet also meld the combination perfectly, and with layers of interest that keep on being revealed long after you swallow. The presentation was delightful. The service was exceptional, with knowledgeable waitstaff who were attentive without being overbearing, and seemed genuinely warm and welcoming. The is a jewel in Bellingham, and I fervently hope Roe will be here for years to come.

   It was our first dining experience at Roe and we were pleasantly impressed by the food, service and artwork in the restaurant. We will definitely recommend this dining establishment and will be returning soon.

   We think this restaurant is probably the best and most unique experience in Bellingham. The food and presentation is high-end. We love sitting at the counter and watching the chefs at work. We had the black cod and the pork chop. My order came out about 5 minutes before the pork chop. I had to start without him but the food was cooked perfectly. There were a few little glitches on our order but overall a must try experience. We will be back.

   I have been taste testing pork chops at various restaurants...this is the best in Bellingham. I have hope for one I am going to in Seattle tomorrow. I tasted my wife's hamburger...a simple hamburger was not just a burger...a joy, something so flavorful, if tasted blindfolded, you would not know that something so scrumptious could be a burger. I will go on to say much the same about desert...a joy. I'm from NYC and lived in SF for a long while, Roe is now the top place to resolve my craving for something better than the other "better than mediocre" restaurants about town...I don't need to return to a big city for the best.

   It was my third visit to Roe and an opportunity to celebrate with a longtime friend from out of town. Mary flew in from Los Angeles and arrived at my place at 3 p.m. We promptly started our celebration with ice-cold Mumm Rose sparkling wine. An Uber ride later, we arrived at Roe for our 5 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. The music was pleasant and at an optimal volume. The dining room was full, and the vibe lively. I enjoyed watching the food preparation in their open kitchen, while the chef skillfully orchestrated it. We ordered and shared the gem salad, Dungeness crab appetizer, shrimp appetizer, halibut, and black cod. The meal was truly outstanding, with the crab appetizer and halibut entree being my favorite items from their menu. And lest I forget their strawberry shortcake-like dessert, which was heavenly. Uber picked us up and transported us home in time to see the sunset, ending our celebration and superb dining experience at an outstanding new restaurant in Bellingham. Roe is the place to go for fine seafood dining. Bon appétit!

   Every time I show up one of the owners is at the door to welcome me and and the other owner is on the line, hands on with every dish. High brow food in a welcoming atmosphere, time and again the pleasure repeats itself with this crew! Cheers to that, Abram

    Excellent food and attentive service. A combination of innovative dishes and "comfort food" done perfectly. It's fun to greet the owner as he works behind the counter. The space can be quite loud as it is almost always full. Reservations are a must.
