Food was okay. My Swordfish at first bite had terrific flavor but then cutting into the thicker portion was very touch and I realized was extremely undercooked. I'm used to seafood not being cooked well but I couldn't even cut it. They cooked a new piece for me but it came out charred and it tasted burnt so I didn't finish it. We paid full price for it but I do have a coupon for a free appetizer.

We had a reservation for Friday night at 7:00 and we were seated exactly at 7:00. Carlin, the waitress, was super attentive and made some great recommendations. We started with shrimp toast and sushi nachos. Delicious flavors. The we had the scallops and spicy thai broccoli. Once again, great blends of taste and prepared perfectly. The entire staff was attentive and friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Great place to celebrate a birthday with friends! Service was attentive (other than we waited forever for our bill to be dropped off @ our table) and friendly. Food was tasty - many fresh fish and other seafood options, not to mention great, local beer!

We tasted the Crab Croquettes and chicken appetizer, they were equally fantastic.
For lunch we had the fish n chips, fish tacos, calamari fries and the bacon wrapped Mahi sandwich. Everything was incredible! Loved it all!

I was impressed upon my first visit. They honored my seating request (which rarely happens elsewhere) and had a table reserved for us before we arrived. I was floored and set to have a lovely afternoon and meal from the start. All staff met us with smiles. Great service and great food. We will be back. Thank you Roe.

My coworkers and I were looking for a “new” place for after work drinks & apps. Roe was wonderful. We’ll return for sure!

The appetizer was great. Had the halibut, which was slightly breaded and then it tasted like it was fried. Was very disappointed with it, I like to taste my fish, not the breading. Ambiance was very nice. I had made a reservation for a birthday celebration and the table they were going to give us was right when you walked in the restaurant to the right, worst place to be seated in the entire restaurant. Thank goodness for heat lamps, sat outside. Don't know if I will be back. Have to say that if you want good fish, Duke's in Huntington Beach. Sorry Roe

This was my first visit and we made a reservation and got there a bit early on a Friday, so we could take advantage of Happy Hour. We started with the ceviche and biscuits. Ceviche absolutely delicious. Buttermilk biscuits were a bit rubbery for my taste, but overall ok. My friend had the Mexican Shrimp over polenta which was delicious and I had the smoked seafood chowder which was amazing. The smokey flavor really made the dish unique. For dessert we shared the dark chocolate sea salt tart and it was delicious as well. Service overall was on point and very friendly.

Fish sandwiches were nicely done - fish cooked well with good flavoring - good char wood-smoked taste for one and successful panko coating for the others.
That said, the meals are overpriced for their size and for a lunch/brunch offering. $20.00 should
have been $16. It was also odd to be charged $2 for a very small sized baquette. I eat out a lot and can't remember when I have been charged for bread --- there are even small plates on the table to indicate that it would be served.... Kind of the principle of the thing for spiked charges, taking advantage of its location on a vibrant street. This was our second visit to Roe.... during first visit wait staff seemed distracted, unfriendly, slow and disconnected to us - polite customers. Thought maybe it was an "off" day. Second visit -- same less than satisfying style.... Next time will try some other restaurants on 2nd street...

Kitchen was slow and food not worth the wait. Fish and chips were incredibly underseasoned and sea bass overcooked. We've been many times for brunch and know that they can do better, but tonight's dinner was lacking. Lighting kept fluctuating as if they were about to lose electricity, but it was consistently inconsistent throughout our evening , so suspect it was the "ambiance" they were going for. Terrible choice. Saving grace was our server. While assigned too many tables to really focus on us or anyone else, she was very good and took great care of us as best she could.

I don't know what took me so long to visit! This place had great atmosphere, from the indoor/outdoor feel with the open seating to the sidewalk to the beautiful tree (I think it was real) inside the restaurant was amazing!

I was pleasantly surprised by the daily happy hour and the wide range of bites to choose from. What a treat!

My only complaint is the hostess...upon arrival ( we had reservations) we were asked if we wanted to be seat indoors or out. It was the first day of DST so I wanted to enjoy the sunlight and people watching, which I stated. She tried to seat us 3 rows in on a 2 top from the sidewalk. I asked if we could be seated outside so she proceeded to take us to a 2 top past a 4 top (front and center of the all of the people watching action) to seat us 2 rows in. I was a bit disappointed but I thought because we were 2, not 4 we could not sit on the 4 top. Well...minutes later a couple was seated at the 4 top! Hmmm...was not I not nice enough? Maybe not dressed properly? Maybe not white enough? One will never know...

I'll have to try this place again.

This was my second visit to Roe and it was as enjoyable as my first. Family was in town and I took them to Roe where we shared several dishes including the crab claws (amazing flavors), the oysters (couldn't have been more fresh), Smoked salmon (amazing), Sea Bass (healthy portion with potatoes that we all loved) and sushi was soy wrap! I never eat Sushi but was introduced to the Crunchy roll with soy wrap and I'm hooked.

On top of the great food JT was our wonderful server who recommended a dessert (sorry I don't remember the name) but it was delicious too!

All in all the food, atmosphere, service was great and the price was totally reasonably priced.

I'll be returning again and again!

This was our second time at Roe. Our first time was dinner with friends and had an AMAZING experience. The food and service was fantastic. This time I needed to send my food back because my eggs were not cooked enough... They were borderline raw(yuck). We had to ask for warer refills and coffee refills. I know we were not drinking cocktails at brunch but we still matter.

We the salmon sashimi, oysters, poisson cru, biscuits, and guava beer. My favorite dish was the cru, I love the habanero spice with coconut milk. Ive never had anything like that! Oysters were good but $3/each is a little high. I wish the biscuits were just served to the table as the bread, or I wish they had bread free of charge.

I do love my seafood and I do love to eat, but this restaurant was very disappointing due to the portion of the food as well as the taste. I mean I don't mind paying for an 8oz japanese wagyu at any Mastro's because it taste BOMB!!! On the other hand the the food here was not worth what I was paying for.. I doubt i'll come back here in the near future. The Host and the male workers were HOT though. he he

Great restaurant overall. Fish was fresh and not overcooked and they had creative dish choices and good cocktails. A tad pricey, but not over the top considering food quality and ambience. Inviting decor and nice patio with some decent live music to keep the energy level going. We did have poor waiting service at the end of the night (about 10:30pm). Our first waitress was great and the guy she left us with only came by once in the beginning and he never stopped off again even with empty drinks on the table. (FYI Roe.. this was an 8:45pm reservation on Feb 9, 2018 table for 2 by the window - cant remember the waiter's name and don't want to get the wrong guy in trouble lol). After about 20 minutes with no service we bailed. Didn't let one lousy waiter ruin the vibe too much. Other than that, great place and we would go back.

Really wanted to like Roe. Beautiful restaurant. Service excellent. Food was bland. Ordered fish and chips. Fish was overcooked, very thin and dry. Fries were inconsistent. Some were warm and good and some were lukewarm and hard. Too bad because the chefs other restaurant, Panxa Covina is one of my favorites.
