This is our third experience at RMFB and it's still outstanding. My wife loves the pasta. She rated excellent. I love the flatbread. So does my daughter. Live music was great also
Outstanding pizzas, beers and service! I have the naturally meaty flatbread pizza which was topped with organic meats and a Red Racer IPA. Service was super welcoming and friendly. I shall be back to try more. And I love all the stuff they do in the community (support local farmers, work in local schools and hold community fundraiser nights.) There should be more restaurants like this in town.
The standard by which we rate all pizza at 10 is La Fiamma Wood Fire Pizza in Bellingham. Not until we enjoyed the daily special pizza at Rocky Mountain Flatbread had we found anything close to La Fiamma in the Lower mainland. Rocky Mountain pizza rates 9.7 out of our standard of 10 for preparation, quality, taste and enjoyment. The pasta dishes we ordered were exceptional. This place is a find for us.
We always know what we're getting: great food, great service, and a great space for our kids to play!
Our family did two things at RMFB.
First was a birthday party for 15 nine yr olds. Excellent experience for children. Parents not required except for BD child
Second. Dinner for mom and dad. Wow. Food was wonderful. Service great. Prices good. If you want to drink, major bus route access. Wonderful rustic ambiance.
Only downside were the numerous kids!!
Are parents with tots ruling the world right now? I think so. Glad we had a friend with a baby at our table or I don't think we would have fit in. Aside from toys flying through the air from the dedicated 'play area' (is this IKEA?!?) the food was excellent. Pizza tasted superb so I understand why the yuppie (do they still use that word?) parents go there. My non-veggie-loving husband ordered a tripple pepperoni and it was the best he'd ever tasted. Yum! Non-kid-loving people might bristle at the 'ambiance' of screaming toddlers, but I felt right at home (hey, I'm a play therapist) and now am looking forward to taking my grandkids there. Ok kids, I'm waiting.....
love this place as it is one of the few places in the city where it is ok to let your kids be kids. I love the fact that on Sunday nights they have the little chefs build their own pizza, a big thrill.
Always a good time at the RMFC, keep it up.
first time there, food good, but place is very noisy, so would only recommend if people have kids... not enough servers for a Saturday nite.. Food came at different times, so we were not able to all eat at the same time.
Nice decor, cool pizza oven, good pizza.
Service was friendly and the food was well prepared, hot to the table, and moderately priced. Will definitely be back. It's is good to see the revitalization of South Main.
We went for DineOutVancouver- we have been to this restaurant every dine out since available, and we also attend this restaurant when dine out is not on, as it's VERY good pizza.
Since it was dine out, we were phoned ahead of time and told our time would be limited to 1hr20 min since they were so busy - I'm completely fine with this and truly appreciated the phone call.
I ordered the fig and goat cheese salad, the apple chicken pizza and the brownie and ice cream for desert - food was fantastic as always
My only gripe was as soon as we had a few bites of salad our pizza arrived, and we were out the door in less than an hour, I wish they had let us finish the salad and then brought the pizza as we'd still be under the 1hr20m limit
The food was delicious however the atmosphere was loud and crowded and there was definitely more kids there than I expected.
Went for my birthday dinner and was extremely impressed by the varied and innovative menu. Organic and local ingredients are a huge bonus. Definitely coming back here as often as possible.
Excellent flat bread! Lots of topping choices!
Great pizzas - lots of choice of toppings and nice that food is organic and local.
Friendly and helpful staff who are attentive without being annoying.
Would definitely go again.
Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. is easily accessible via transit, has great ambience, and a good selection of local, organic food. My friend and I ate from the Dine Out menu, which allowed us to try some of what the restaurant had to offer for an affordable price (since most of the prices are quite steep for two students). I would recommend the pesto shrimp flatbread pizza and the pasta special for this season with chicken. I recommend doing Dine Out for two for your first visit in order to be able to try a variety of their dishes. I loved everything, except for the coconut/lime ice cream (the flavour was a bit too unique for my tastes). But overall, amazing restaurant and I will definitely come back when I save up enough money!
I made reservations and then had someone else in my party invite 2 extra people without notifying me or the restaurant. I was pretty upset but unable to do anything as they showed up at the restaurant late. The staff was courteous and accommodating even though it was pretty clear that there wasn`t really the space for the extra people. After a delicious meal, in which the staff was attentive and very kind, my party ended up staying for much longer than the hour I had anticipated. The staff was very kind and didnt kick us out even though the next party for the table had arrived and it was very clear that it was passed time for us to go. Very impressed with the way they handled our difficult group!!!
I really enjoyed my meal- the salad was better than I could have expected and the flatbread was great! Good for simple good food- everyone will like it!
We have gone to Rocky Mountain many times. It is a great place to take a 2-5 year old as they have a little play kitchen that kids can play at. On top of that the food is great using high quality/fresh ingredients. We like the goat cheese salad, and the farmers market pizza. To top it off the brownie dessert is very tasty. The kids menu is also good.
Honestly, if you have good food and service, everything else follows suit. The wait staff are friendly (and funny) and seem to genuinely want your experience to be a good one. The chefs in the back are doing their part too. When I asked about the food items, the waitress had a useful way of asking me my preferences to help me make a choice between items. I met two friends for lunch and the waitress helped one pick out a beer that would go well with her meal: she was impressed and surprised at the degree of accuracy the woman had used. Now, perhaps we should not have been surprised. Presumably the waitress has tried the combination before. However, the service was more attentive- and effective-than I've found at most establishments recently
We have already recommended this place to friends. The kids pizza making night was a huge hit with our kids and the fun play area was cool. The pizza itself was delicious and was not overly salty (as most pizza is). We even left with some of there pizza dough so we can make more yummy pizza at home. Well done!! Please open on the north shore/Lonsdale next !!!
Lots of kids in the restaurant with a good selection on the kids menu.
Food was fresh and tasted great.
Good place for a casual eat.
Staff was terrific. Our family group arrived late and we were still accommodated. Thank you. We ranged in age from 55 - 1year old and each was well fed and entertained. Toys, play stoves and kiddie aprons were appreciated by the kids who needed a break from the car, and the parents who just wanted to sit and chat . The pizza making class was a huge hit with our 3 1/2 year old. Then came our diet issues, again every child ,vegan, gluten free-er , foodie and carnivore was cared for. This place was just the right place for our group this evening and we will indeed come back next time we meet.
One of the best spot to take your kids out!
Great flatbread for gluten lactose challenged guests, plus the non challenged were really impressed, too
We come here weekly. The food and service are excellent. The quality of the food is always good. Local and organic are how we eat at home so it is nice to have a neighbourhood dining out option. The kids love making their own pizza on Mondays. We love the Tuesday 3 course option. Brunch is yummy too. Fresh juice always.
The pepperoni is crispy and tasty. The blueberry salad is a favourite of my wife. This is a good spot for a casual lunch.
was looking for a place great for kids as we had 3 toddlers dining with us. had been here for a birthday lunch before so thought would try it out! great place for large gatherings and welcomes little people, regardless of their energy and noise! took a bit of time for our server to get to us, but once she was there our drinks and appys rolled around quickly, followed shortly by our main meal. would definitely recommend for anyone as the food is tasty and great price!
The pepperoni pizza, chicken noodle soup, and basil blackberry salad are very good. The pizza has a very crispy crust and very little oil. It's delicious.
The atmosphere was nice with live guitar singer/songwriter.
Originally my friend & I were going to try a pizza each, but, after stuffing ourselves on the generously portioned apps we decided to split a Summit (the fancier pizza section) flatbread. We went for the Pesto Shrimp since it offered a range of flavours not devoured during our starter meals. Our pizza came out surprisingly fast considering we only ordered after they had cleared our salad & anitpasto & we ordered a pitcher of the lager I had tried since that was on for only $12. The Ocean Wise shrimp was topped with artichokes, red onions & some asiago & pesto - totally scrumptious. Everything coming out of that big cool oven looked so good and the fresh flavours (& supporting local farmers) were totally worth another buck or two).
The food was great. Worth the wait. It is all hand made and freshly put into the oven so it does take a while for it to cook. Overall very enjoyable. Would definately go back and try the other items on the menu.
the food here is always excellent, service is great, overall its always an excellent experience!
We consistently have the best pizzas at Rocky Mountain Flatbread. Fresh, local and organic ingredients. So tasty and satisfying. HIghly recommended to all.
Food was great. We love a crispy thin crust so the flatbread pizzas delivered a nearly perfect eating experience for us. We also enjoyed the different topping options/creations. We will definitely be back.
Every time we go to this place with other young families, we love it. Our young'un particularly loves playing with the toy kitchen. Their pizzas are quite amazing too!
This is a great place for lunch with other moms and their babies/kids or for dinner with the family. We went there for dinner on Mother's Day and what a great time we had. The staff were very accommodating with table selection and even customized their veggie/fruit plate to better suit my toothless 9 month old baby. They topped it off with a complimentary brownie dessert for all the moms that night. For those hoping to avoid kids, the place quiets down after 8pm and they have a good late night special.
I'm so glad to have discovered 3 things about Rocky Mt Flatbread - one, they serve breakfast! Two, they take brunch reservations! And three, it is so very child-friendly. My friend and I arrived at 11am with our 2 toddlers and, by noon, the restaurant was full of families with small children. I would still recommend this place to those without children but, if you do have kids, this is the place to go!! I had an omelette with a side of toast, so did my friend, and we both cleaned our plates - yum.
We enjoyed the meal that we had however would pick another time if we went back. Almost every table in the place was families with very small children. Had we not been going to a play we would have dined later. I do applaud the welcoming atmosphere that this establishment gives to young families. The meal was tasty and healthy. Would like to try one of their pizzas next time. Carrot/coconut soup was very good, feature pasta, also good. Bruscetta non traditional so harder to eat. Wine selection featured local wines which was great.
