Come and experience Niagara's hidden gem. Rockway Vineyards offers casual dining in their restaurant. Sample award winning wines while enjoying the breathtaking views of the championship style golf course & Niagara Escarpment.
We were seated immediately and provided with the lunch menu. I found it amusing that there was one page of food but several of beverages. Wed each found a different item to try. I was offered the opportunity to switch my fries for a salad but was not told there was an additional $3 charge for the salad. Food arrived quickly as there was only one other table of diners there. We sampled Rockway wines as well. We weren't rushed and enjoyed watching the golfers from our window seat. Because there are so many fine restaurants in the area I might not choose Rockway when we visit the area but I would certainly recommend it to others.
I am in a wheelchair and the facility is very accessible.
Wines, red and white were not enjoyable. I had fish and chips, which came with a horrible tasting Cole slaw, and I couldn't even stab the chips with a fork, they were so hard.
Ambience was non existent. Very cafeteria style dining room.
The server did his best to make it better, and didn't charge me for my one glass of wine (which I didnt finish), but i will never return.
Amazing birthday dinner. Everyone o e was great and the food was delicious. Made my 40th that much more special.
Food was ok. Price was average. Flies were absolutely terrible! Waiter also forgot to input an order and it took an extra 20-30 minutes before it came out. The rest of us were done eating already. Would not recommend. Spend more money at a more reputable winery to have dinner. This was not worth it.
Nothing special compared to other winery restaurants in the Niagara Region but nothing negative about it either. Service was good, ambience was average, value for your money was good but food was only average.
We had a lovely Mother’s Day Brunch with our family. The staff were excellent, the food was delicious, and it is such a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I would definitely recommend this venue.
Went for Mothers day. Great setting etc and service was good, but the food was terrible. crepes were dry (made days before they tasted like) The waffles were from a package, and the ham station?? Where was the actual Ham....just a person standing there with cut pieces in a tray already....the value was terrible in the end as the food experience was mediocre at best. Time to get a new chef!! We won't be returning as the more people we talk to they have had the same experience with the food. They need to change who is making the decisions for the buffet as it's clearly just a cost cutting one and it reflects poorly.
Menu was limited as the summer season was still a ways away. Only ones in the dining room. Waitress was very friendly as well as helpful. Had a lobster grilled cheese sandwich on your sign bread. Excellent, full.if lobster. We started with soup which was also excellent. Would definitely go back again and recommend it to friends. Was there for dinner at an opening banquet,:the food was awesome with an excellent variety, definitely not run of the mill.
Took my whole family including grandchildren, we all enjoyed it. Good food open atmosphere with a great view. Fish fry had big helping, a little too much oil but still light and tasty. Everyone enjoyed it and the kids ate everything.
We were really looking forward to a nice fish and chips. The restaurant is lovely, and the service was very good. Sadly, the fish was greasy and tasteless. We won’t be back.
Our dinner of Lobster was fantastic, the dinner buffet was full of great items to please everyone, especially the Chowder, Oysters, Shrimp and Mussels, and all the desserts were excellent.
The friendly staff were eager to serve and make our stay enjoyable and comfortable.
Our table all agreed that the whole experience was great value and would love to do it again.
I used Travelzoo coupon. The wine tasting was poor - staff did not know the wines and had to read from a binder. They did not know the product. The meal was not worth the value as there was not the choice of wine included in the ticket - the choice of wine provided tasted like grape juice. Both of us did not drink the wine. A small dessert should have been included in the meal coupon. Seriously, a disappointment.
We came for supper because we had a travel meeting to attend. We thought we would go for dinner before the meeting. The staff were friendly and attentive. It took a little longer to order than expected because, as our server told us, two kitchen staff had called in so everyone else had to take up the slack. There were also two events taking place very shortly which I am sure took up extra time the staff would have used elsewhere. The real issue I had with the restaurant was the fact that 2 or 3 of the main menu items that we had tried to order were unavailable or changed last minute. The menu was not that extensive to begin with. The meals were of a good quality but the portion size was a little small. Also, no small complimentary appetizer like bread or something when ordering supper. Overall the experience was "ok" but we probably would not make a special trip to go back.
My wife and I were really looking forward to this as a celebration meal at the end of a few well earned days away in the Niagara area. Unfortunately it didn’t turn out that way. We arrived early and the restaurant was not busy. Once menus were found, we received a nice glass of wine and ordered our meal. After 20mins, we had received our soup and salad while other people had started to come into the restaurant.
A small group of golfers ordered their meals and 10 minutes later received their meals while we were still waiting for our main course. Almost an hour after we had ordered, the other diners had finished their meal and we were still waiting for ours. And for at least 10 minutes, I could not find anyone to ask why we were still waiting. 5 minutes later, and an hour and fifteen minutes after we came in, the waitress came out with our meal. I have to say too that while she was pleasant and had earlier apologized for the wait, she delivered our meals like we had only been waiting 10 minutes.
Anyway, at this point we had lost our appetite and told her we no longer wanted the meal. I asked for the Manager, got a head waiter instead but after asking for someone else, eventually talked to a Manager. She did her best to apologize and make amends with some free wine but ultimately we left with our meal in a box and a poor overall experience. We did do a little wine tasting and bought some additional wine but the whole event was spoiled by the restaurant experience. The Manager has invited us back next time we are in Niagara, but after this experience it may not be for a while.
Great set-up and great service !
Great service, lovely waitress. Food was average. Most of us ordered breakfast item: eggs not cooked to specification, peameal bacon was dry, some toast were burned. The fruit salad was canned. The lobster sandwich did have a more than adequate amount of lobster and was quite good. Portions are generous. And prices are very affordable.
Very disappointed!! First I was there with my 2 adult daughters for a special weekend away. Go a special deal on travelzoo. Firstly we were to have a wine tasting, never happened. Got our appetizer crab cake- never ate it , it was so bad. Our main meal was chicken Marsala, this was ok but not amazing. Our house wine glass of wine was very good. I would only go for a glass of wine and nothing else. The view was over the parking area of the golf carts 😒
Très bien côté vignoble , moyen côté nourriture service lent
Le vin vintage très bon
We were expecting a self guided tour of the actual winery so were disappointed to find it was only a basement room with several items reflecting on the history of wine making.
The three free wine tastings were enjoyable and it was nice to see you could pick from a broad range of wines and ice wines to try.
The salad we had was good and bigger them we expected. However, I think feta would have been a better choice then blue cheese in the salad. (not on my list of favourite cheeses at all) I found the chicken marsala was overcooked and the bottom of mine was rock hard. I saw no reason to include the chicken's leg. I also found the carrots under cooked and rock hard. The mashed potatoes were an excellent choice with the chicken and marsala sauce and were for me the best part of the entree. My wife was ill when we got home but was not sure if it was the wine or food that caused it.
The view, from the dining table, was ok if you like watching people putt and chip and wash golf carts. (not what I consider a view worth while)
The lamb and braised sirloin were both nice. It wasn’t busy and felt like regular dining was a bonus and the real focus is weddings and events. Which is fine if you don’t care about dining around company.
Stopped on our way to Niagara Falls for our anniversary weekend. We thought we were going to have lunch at the vineyard instead the restaurant was at the golf course. We were hoping for a romantic view of the vines instead we had a view of food tents on the golf course because there was a tournament underway. The cheese platter arrived and looked well put together. Enough for two to share. We both ordered the rainbow trout and mine was fishy. It was served with the skin up and the mushroom cream cream sauce was poured on top of the skin. We had to scrape it off of the skin in order to actually be able to eat it. Had I known I wouldn't have stopped!
Really enjoyed our dinner. Started with an appetizer. So good... had the fish and chips - excellent. Our server was very pleasant and most attentive. Great place to stop for dinner or lunch if coming from or going to the GTA. WORTH THE DRIVE! Nice scenery getting there from the Highway. Would recommend this highly. Not our first visit!
My husband and I went for Fathers day brunch. Our server was a lovely young lady very knowledgeable and very friendly. All her suggestions were spot on, I only wish that I could remember her name. The food was delicious and the presentation was lovely. Will return again for sure.
We arrived early for our reservation and our table was ready and waiting. The waitress was extremely helpful and friendly. The food was scrumptious. The view of the golf course was very peaceful. A great place for an early breakfast or any time of the day.
Noticed that Rockway was offering Mothers day brunch. What a surprise! Beautiful set up, great food and prices. Charging by child's age is a great idea!
We Wil be back again.
Wonderful experience with the wine tasting and a delicious meal. Had a very pleasurable experience
Great food! Scenic view. Enjoyed our wine tasting, too!
Restaurant was fine but your website was wrong about availability. Open Table offered us only 2 times a table was available, and not the time we requested. We were the ONLY table occupied in the dining room at that time and during the earlier time we had requested. Not fair to the people running the dining room or potential customers. I prefer call the dining establishment ahead of time in the future and not use Open Table
This is a restaurant of a clubhouse. There is also a seperate store with their wines. If you do not play a round of golf, do not go to the restaurant, you will be disappointed. It was not really busy and we had to wait for a while before the barman came of ask if we needed menus.
Fish was overcooked and the mushrooms were cooked to being hard and chewy The wedding next-door made it a little noisy
Everything was great with the exception the wine glasses and wine bucket were filthy! Quality and quantity of food tasty.
Our server was great!
I enjoyed dining at Rockway. Everything was great but we were the only people dining so I would have liked a few more people to give it a more festive atmosphere. Other than that, everything else was great.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone for any reason. We waited 30 minutes before receiving water and a promise of I'll be right back. Received glass of wine within 60 minutes and walked out after 90 minutes. The restaurant wasn't busy. Golf members were getting food and drinks before us.
I don't know why they treated us this way ... we could have been potential golf members, they wouldn't know.
We thought at first waitress was inexperienced and give her a chance. They just didn't want us there. We will tell everyone we know to stay away from this spot
Excellent food and service, there with a travelzoo coupon which made it great value for money spent.
We purchased a Travel Zoo voucher and used it as a day trip. We enjoyed sampling the wine and had a nice dinner. The mussels were amazing! Steak was cut super thin but I knew what to expect since we got such a great deal. Would love to play their golf course next time. Views were great from the dining room and our wine was excellent!
Good lunch, nice setting with the golf course and vineyard, great value and service was friendly
Used a Travelzoo voucher. The food was good and the value was amazing. The wines though were average in my opinion.
We had to wait a long time for 2 of the 5 people's meals to come (who brings part of a table's food?) and when they did come, they were wrong. The food tasted good when we finally got it, but the service totally ruined it.
The setting was beautiful and we had a table overlooking the golf course. We were seated almost immediately. The waitress took a long time to come and greet us to take our drink order so we helped ourselves to the buffet. When we sat down the comment from the waitress was, "oh, you found the food".
There was not a huge selection and what was there was lukewarm as the serving chafes had been left open. The gentleman at the omelette station was already packing up at 230 even though our reservation was for 2. He did make very nice custom omelettes for us.
When I went up for a second plate the waitress had laid my knife and fork on the bare table.
The waitress was not very attentive and didn't seem interested in providing us with good customer service. The type of service we received was equivalent to what one would expect from a roadhouse diner.
The online menu listed baked ham but this was not available. The online menu included coffee and tea, but this was not the case when we were there. There were no hot vegetables. We booked online and were disappointed with the above-mentioned items left out.
