Rockmill Tavern

Very disappointed in our service. Bentley, our server, never checked to see if our food was suitable. I had asked for the char to be cooked through- as he was clearing the plate, I told him the last 2 inches were raw, which I did not eat. He immediately defended himself, saying he asked the chef to cook it through- if he had asked me 15 minutes earlier about my meal, I would have had him take the fish back and cook it through. But it was too late as everyone in our party was done.

They were very accommodating with the reservations as we had a party of 7. Menu choices are very few but the food was excellent. It was fairly loud but it was very busy.

We had a very nice brunch. Loved the decor. Honestly the only yucky thing was the rap music being played at 10:30 in the morning. The music was too loud and very obnoxious. All of a sudden it changed to something more mainstream. Not sure if another table complained or if the staff realized that what you may listen to rev up for the day isn't what most people want to eat to. Other than that, we loved our breakfast choices and the beer.

Like many reviews we read, the atmosphere was nice and the food and beer were both amazing! However, the service was terrible. The waiter had to come back out and ask us what we wanted again as he couldn't remember and didn't write it down. The entree came out almost immediately following the appetizer so now we had too much food on our small table. He didn't come back to check on us very often but eventually he did and asked if I wanted another beer, which I did. However, the beer came after the meal was complete and we were waiting for our check. The waiter than brought a beer for me and my friend "on the house" which we partly consumed because we were heading to ShadowBox Live next door for a show.

It seemed to take awhile to get drinks but other than that a wonderful meal. I had the burger and it was wonderful. A relatively small menu but good!

I dined a Rockmill Tavern with a group of 7 for brunch, so we covered a lot of the menu with our orders.

I started with a seasonal cocktail featuring gin, which was very tasty. The waiter was very pleasant and helpful with answering our questions on menu items as well as suggesting dishes.

I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with the green beans as a side and it was delicious - definitely would order it again. Other dishes that all got a big thumbs up from the group were eggs in a biscuit, the B.E.L.T., the tavern burger, and egg sandwich.

Just plain excellent! We went to hear live music later in the evening and the acoustics were very good. Very good beer and menu.

Very disappointing and disengaged service. Waited entirely too long to be acknowledged and order drinks and over 20 minutes for our checks. We nearly missed our show because the service was so slow. I would not recommend going here to anyone who expects good service, or to anyone who wants to be able to hear the person across the table from them (or see them, for that matter).

I've been to Rockmill 3 times now, and it has yet to disappoint. They have a small menu so I've tried a lot on it and every dish I've had has been exceptional. Great spot for a date or group outing. I highly recommend Rockmill!!

Third time we have eaten at Rockmill. Food continues to be creative and outstanding. Use lots of local ingredients. Cocktails are unique and fun. Short menu; multiple apps, only one entree each for chicken, fish, beef and pork, plus a really great hamburger. Have had all of these and they are to die for. Had the mussels appetizer and it was delicious. Currently our go-to restaurant when we have guests to take out. Very crowed, will need reservations.

Crammed seating super loud. Arctic char under cooked. Uncomfortable seating. Service was great. Food other than the attic char was just okay not really with the price.

Celebrated our anniversary here. We ordered the charcuterie board and chicken sandwiches, a beer flight plus full glasses. The food was amazing. The place has a hip earthy feel. Great service.

Good option in the brewery district for food and beer pairing. We enjoyed the cocktails, bread and fat, Arctic char. Food was pretty salty, which makes the beer more enticing!

NIce evening. Great service. Limited menu but delicous

Flynn was our server and she did an excellent job. Very friendly, good menu, beer suggestions and did a great job with drink refills. Food was excellent, large group next to us was loud, but certainly understandable. Beer was excellent.

Food was great. The seating was a bit too close to enjoy the meal completely.

It was a touch loud, which would be fine with a group of people, but not if you're looking for a date night place.

We had a wonderful lunch and such a fun beer tasting experience! Our waiter was fabulous!! Really cool place!

Excellent Belgium style ale selection and great beerhouse ambiance in the heart of Columbus Brewery District.

Perfect time great service and food. Love this place that's why we chose it to celebrate my sons bday. Food is incredible.

I love Rockmill Tavern on a Sunday morning for brunch.
Make sure you ask to sit by the window and if its a nice sunny day they can open it for you and it's a lovely atmosphere.
Sometimes the food can be a little oil-soaked, but the drinks are good and the servers are friendly and laid back.

Great place to grab good food. Beed and ambiance was great. Would go back anytime.

Best burger and chicken sandwich in Columbus.

I brought a couple friends who were visiting from out of town and they loved it. We got a flight to sample a few beers before deciding and they were all delicious. The staff was very engaging and even taught us about the brewing style and how it fit with the area. The burger and chicken sandwich were defiantly something to write home about. Both amazing!

best spicy chicken sandwich we've ever had!

First time eating here. Loved the restaurant environment and the food was delicious!! Different flavors put together made it quite unique!! I felt it was a little pricey, but I feel that you pay for the environment and the food ingredients. Beer was awesome too!! A lot of different varieties to choose from!! Overall, a wonderful experience and we will be back!!

Incredible! A farm to table gem in the brewery district. Service was outstanding and food was somehow even better. You must go!

The atmosphere and the decor was very nice clean and modern. I wish the menu would of had more of a selection of food to chose from.

Really great decor and ambience. Great beer menu. Had a delicious flight. Food was good, but fell a tad short. The grilled cheese sandwich was good, with an excellent tomato dip. But the bread a bit hard (was it stale?) and thick. The chicken sandwich was great!

We unfortunately were seated next to the bathroom -- within 10 feet or so. A bit of a buzzkill. With all the seating there, not sure why they need that table.

Excellent beer. The food was very good but not exceptional. The price is fairly reasonable for the quality as well The brussel sprouts were the best thing we had. The service was a tad slow and the chairs are very uncomfortable making the slow service feel even slower.

My date said the cheese sandwich was the best she had ever tasted. My hamburger was done to perfection. Service was very good. A good experience on our anniversary.

Long wait at host and table, and staff walking by without saying anything or making eye contact. Service took a long time as well. Waiter spilled ice cubes on the floor and left them. On the plus side,the place was really cool looking, and food was excellent

Went for our Daughter and son in law anniversary we enjoyed dinner and a few beers!

I was excited to eat at Rockmill Tavern but I have to admit I was underwhelmed. The food was fine, the burger was better than the chicken sandwich, and the beer was the highlight. When they bring you a wet nap without asking that should have been a sign. For some odd reason, these menu items cause greasy hands. The menu was limited which is ok, but what does come from the kitchen on the limited menu needs to be top notch. I would say it was just ok and that is not good enough for the price and the portion size. If I were to come back it would be for the beer and possibly an app, should they offer something new on the menu in that category. In the competitive arena of Gastropubs, I would try others before coming here. The cost to meal ratio is not worth the investment.

Nice atmosphere. Had the bread and fat plate which was delicious. Steak was perfect. Beers were great as well.

Going to Rockmill Tavern is always a treat for me. The food is delicious and the service is one of the best, bar none. It's a home away from home, if you ask me.
