Rockin Baja Lobster Old Town
I love to get the baja buckets. The outside seating is peaceful near the fountain.
Great way to welcome back visitors! Great job!
Our waitress Linda was awesome. Wife and I have been coming to Old Town together for 15 years. Spent the Memorial Day weekend in Old Town SD. Food and service was excellent. The restaurant staff is taking every precaution to ensure guidelines are being followed.
Friendly fun environment with outdoor seating in the heart of old town.
We had a great time. Considering all the restrictions, the staff did a great job !
After 82 days of quarantine it was so great to try and go out and dine. The restaurant was kept clean, they asked questions before letting you in the restaurant and had you clean and Sanitize your hands before entering. The service was phenomenal and every table was kept at 6 ft distance all around. Waiters wore gloves and masks and for menus, they used a QR code for you to use your phone. Menu is limited for now but the food and the drinks were amazing.. god a girl missed a good cocktail! All in all it was a great way to experience what is bound to be the new normal.
Great service, food and drinks!!!
Great service great food will definitely go back again
I took my 8 year old here for dinner. The atmosphere is awesome. We sat outside near the fountain, which my daughter enjoyed. The chips and salsa bar is awesome, with all kinds of fresh salsas and toppings. The seafood bucket was fresh and delicious. Hibiscus margarita was fantastic. We loved it and will back the next time we are in San Diego.
We visited this location on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Both times the food was exceptional n the service was awesome on Tuesday. Julio was very attentive n continued to make sure if we needed anything. Thank you to Julio for going above and beyond n for recommending the Wednesday special.
Great food and a fun Atmosphere we will come back soon
The Wednesday whole lobster special is amazing! This is the reason I come here. Huge lobster for a great price
Fun place, you need to open one up in Denver :)
Excellent food. Great appetizer - like a full meal.
Server very friendly
We enjoyed out the Valentine's Day Special. The service was good, the food, excellent! We went on a Saturday night that has the live band. Great Band! We asked for a table away from the band which they provided (to the best of their ability). We shared a room off of the main dining room with a party of about 15 people celebrating someone's birthday. And a second party of 10 people. And a third party of eight. We were the only couple in the room. The music was still loud and everyone had to shout to be heard, especially the large parties of other guests in our dining area that evening. The noise level for Rockin Baja Lobster Old Town on Open Table is listed as "Moderate". It is not moderate when the live band plays. We will be back, just not on a Saturday night.
It was an amazing first time visit! Our waiter, Shawn, was great and very attentive. Definitely enjoyed our time here and the food was absolutely delicious. Would come back if I was in town again!
I would say 3 1/2 stars overall. It was busy since it was Vakentines Day but we still would have liked decent service. We asked for everything sometimes twice. Water napkins drinks. Ambiance would be better on Valentines Day with dimmed lights. Quite a few kids were there. Live music started made it better less kid noises so more like Valentines.
We always enjoy Rockin Baja, we always order one of the buckets, they are delicious !! Can't beat them.
The atmosphere is always delightful and always enjoy the weekend entertainment!!
Good food and service
It was the perfect Valentine’s early dinner!
Great staff and service, able to accommodate our group of 8, food was amazing!
A favorite go to spot when I want Mexican seafood. Love this place!
Food was overpriced for the small portions
The food was dried out and just sub par. I won’t visit again.
Great salsa bar with mango and bean salsa. Excellent tacos! Fun atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Food was barely warm. Waitress was rushing us to be done. Way over priced. Left still hungry.
Once again this place didn't disappoint with great service, delicious food and a fun atmosphere.
If you want to have a couple drinks and apps, it's good for that, but the food (dinner) was not good at all.
I reserved with open table found out the restaurant canceled my reservation plus when I called spoke with Lupita didn’t seem to know much plus not very helpful still waiting for my points
The first servers we had ended up leaving don’t know why? She was great and attentive We had two more servers that seem to be more attentive to their own tables so we paid check and left I don’t think I will ever go back
Our waitress Stephanie and the rest of the staff was great. Always had everything we needed with smiles and willingness. Thank you as we will return soon!
Friends came in from town and we set up a Restaurant Week table for 4. We went wanting to eat lobster. After seeing the restaurant week menu, 3 of us ordered from that and got Lobster just what we wanted.
There was live music playing and our waiter Ricky was Awesome.
Great time, Great Atmosphere, and great food!
Went for restaurant week as we have done for many years now and boy were we disappointed. They used to give you plenty of food on their RW menu but now it’s shameful. Started with tequila lime shrimp and received 3 little shrimp in sauce, next taste of Baja bucket came with 4 shrimp 2 small rock lobster tails a 1/4 piece of mushy corn on the cob and a burnt piece of carne asada with a dried out piece of chicken. The only enjoyable thing was the fried ice cream. For $30 I’ll go elsewhere. And don’t forget the 4% surcharge on your tab too. They should just not be a part of RW and be done with it
The food was not bad but in my opinion it was overpriced for the amount you get.
It was a great choice to kick off sd restaurant week!
I visited the restaurant for my birthday. I'm from Chicago. I ordered the seafood basket however when it arrived, every item in the basket was cold, even the corn on the cob. So I sent it back and ordered the fish tacos. When they arrived, the fish were not cooked, so I sent it back as well. The manager came out to apologize and assured me that he would remake the tacos. I am so upset. I have visited this restaurant before. I was really looking forward to a wonderful birthday dinner! Disappointed !!!
Great selection of tacos and "buckets", and the salsa bar was a great addition.
Great food! And great ambiance
We enjoyed a delicious Baja Lobster bucket with chips and salsa bar. Our server, Adrianna was pleasant and very attentive. Location is excellent with plenty of parking.
Everything was delicious and hot except for two dishes. We were a party of 9 and the staff did a great job accommodating us! However the seafood skillet melt arrived stone cold, and the fajitas fantastico were underwhelming. Usually fajitas are served piping hot and sizzling, ours were not. I didn’t say anything at the time because I didn’t want to ruin the birthday celebration, but I was disappointed.
Crying Babies. 3 CRYING BABIES. Out of Control CRYING BABIES. Pain in the but CRYING BABIES. What a way to start the new year. Food and service Fantastic.
