Busy during Restaurant Week. Good service, excellent food.a bit noisy as the Restaurant was full! We will return
I had heard great things and it did not disappoint. I think we tried all of the homemade pasta dishes and they were all excellent, though the Bolognese was the standout for me. Only complaint would be the fried calamari. The olive oil and peppers completely overpowered the calamari. Overall, it was very much worth the short drive up to TR.
Excellent food from a small selection of dishes and appetizers. The venue itself is not overly large but gets busy on a Saturday evening, there are plenty of indoor tables and a handful of outdoor dining tables available as well as a bar section with single seating. Service was pleasant, available, not rushed. Overall this was a nice experience for a date night out, I would recommend it as something different than the typical chain restaurant experience you get everywhere else.
The food was absolutely incredible.
First time dining here - will certainly go back. Food was outstanding as well as the service.
This place is fantastic! We tried several items on the menu, appetizers, small plates, pastas and dessert. All the food was great and the service was excellent. The chef even came by to talk to us about his food creations.
Food was excellent. Service was good. Ambiance was poor. It was like sitting in a diner. Lights were up to high, tables and chairs were cheap or 2nd hand and the space was plain. Pretty unusual for what seemed like high end food. Looked like the inside of every other restaurant in Travelers Rest.
Saw this restaurant on Instagram for restaurant week! Did not disappoint. Tip....if you order the marinated olives (yum) you probably don't need a salad. We left feeling too full...because of all of the bread we ate...appetizer, panzanella salad etc. We couldn't stop eating and don't regret one bite.
We'll be back!
Everything about our experience was outstanding. From the time we walked in and were warmly greeted by the charming hostess, to our waitress, Jordan who provided the most top notch service, to the bartender that crafted our cocktails, the service was fantastic.
Oh wait, there’s the food also. Fresh fresh fresh ingredients, locally sourced and hand picked by the executive chef (who also checked in on us to make sure everything was to our liking). Well prepared and presented in an appealing and appetizing manner. Good portions, flavorful and at a very reasonable price for the quality.
Do yourself a favor and visit these great folks. Help the local restaurant scene thrive. Their heart is in it and you will not be disappointed.
We’ve been to RocketSurgery a few times and this is my first review. The hostess seated us promptly and our server was at our table in less than a minute. After making a couple inquiries on their wine list she returned and admitted she guessed wrong on one of our choices. A plus in my book versus getting a glass and having to say “this isn’t right”. The mushroom appetizer was outstanding. Our small plate of Brussels sprouts was done very well but some of the accompanying pork bits were not edible, perhaps they were there for just flavoring. Pork meatballs were a bit salty. We enjoy dining at RS and will be back.
I would have been slightly more positive in my review of this excellent restaurant, except that our courses were not all delivered at the same time, which is a faux pas in my book. It is awkward when half the party is eating, so the food does not get cold, when the other half is waiting. However, the food was excellent, as always.
Been to Rocket surgery many times. This was the worse and we won't be back. Appetizers came out quick and were good. Then we sat, and sat, and sat. Waited over a hour for our entrees. Appetizer plates sat on our table. Waitress dumped us and sat at the bar. Told her when she finally came over we wanted our check and would pay for the appetizers. She said our entrees were being plated. They came out, wish we had left. Short rib sugo had a big clump of "fresh pasta". The duck was so salty it was inedible. We were offered dessert, but at almost 2 hours in, we were done. We won't be back
My family and I enjoyed our meal and drinks at Rocket Surgery. The appetizers and meal itself were outstanding!! We will definitely come back whenever we travel to Traveler’s Rest.
The food is very good. The staff are nice and helpful. Great gluten free selection. Amazing deserts. The bar service is a little slow. This fun place and we’ll be back again.Everyone in our group enjoyed it.
A wonderful surprise in Travelers Rest. Food and service were excellent.
With the exception of my very loud friend, the experience was phenomenal! Hospitable! Knowledgeable staff! Attentive! And the food was more than amazing!
This was my first time at Rocket Surgery and while their menu is limited it has something for everyone, unless you are a 100% meat & potato person. The short rib small plate and roasted brussels sprout side were delicious as was the caesar salad. The salad did not have anchovies in the dressing but was still outstanding. My first time will NOT be my last. My wife and I have added Rocket Surgery to our restaurant rotation!!
Visited Rocket Surgery for the first time and I am in love!! From the moment we walked in the experience was great and quite impressive. We had reservations for 7 and were seated immediately by a friendly hostess. Two minutes after we were seated Bennett, our waiter, was at our table greeting us and asking if we had any questions and taking our cocktail order. We chose a couple of their special cocktails and they did not disappoint. Our appetizer was the burrata which was fresh mozzarella and fresh ricotta cheese with tomatoes, peaches and a peach sauce with focaccia bread and gluten free bread. Absolutely delicious!! For the main course we had picatta with gluten free pasta and primavera with gluten free gnocchi. Both dishes were absolutely wonderful and very filling. The gluten free pasta was so good my friend questioned whether it was actually GF. Bennett, as well as Chef Daniel, assured her it was and even explained the process. She is a celiac so GF is a must. Finally, we had the chocolate raspberry torte for dessert and oh my gosh was it heavenly! From beginning to end, Rocket Surgery did not disappoint. I will definitely be returning again and again. Travelers Rest has a gem with this restaurant and the awesome chef!
Delicious food! Strange service and awareness. Sat outside on the patio. Felt like we were a side note, not in the main dining room and will get to them once people inside are happy. Please don’t take this the wrong way. Servers were very pleasant. With the very high food quality, it feels the service, and server knowledge, should meet or exceed the expectations. Screens did not get lifted after sun went down to get a breeze on a beautiful night. Menu stated beer came in a 500ml can, just over a pint. Never saw the can and came in a small glass. It took about 25 minutes to get our drinks and about 50 minutes until we got our appetizer salad. Like I said, just strange. We will definitely be back. Nice staff and fantastic food!
We chose Rocket Surgery to celebrate an Anniversary--perfect choice. The food was marvelous and the atmosphere easy and relaxed. We will be back.
Really enjoyed the food and sitting out on the patio, will make this a regular dinner spot.
Fantastic spin on traditional recipes. The portions are generous and the flavors are perfectly blended. We ordered the pork meatball appetizer and decided if they added some pasta it would make a great entree. The chef came out to make sure everything was to our liking...hats off to the chef!!
Fantastic food and service!! Housemade pastas and local ingredients and BIG PORTIONS for the money!!
We have been to Rocket Surgery for the third time & have been very happy with the food & service. We were so impressed that Chef Daniel came out & greeted us & explained the menu to us. We will be back & we will be bringing friends to experience the unique menu & the amazing flavors that chef Daniel has put together to make an amazing dish you will be talking about for a long time. Thanks for coming to TR & we don't have to go to Greenville for some fine dining.
One of the best meals I have had this year! Love the gluten-free options.
This was our first time at Rocket Surgery and we were NOT disappointed. The food was amazing and the service was great. My husband and will definitely drive here from Downtown Greenville again. It may possibly be our new favorite restaurant.
We had the duck and it was absolutely delicious! We wanted to go back the next night.
Love the next menu and concept
Excellent food & excellent service. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Took some friends to Rocket Surgery which is a great place to dine in the up and coming downtown Travelers Rest. We were greeted and immediately sat down (had used Open Table reservations). Our server Bennett, was very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks and has a great personality. Started with a Baby Greens salad (definitely able to split) and our friends shared a meatballs appetizer (which looked like it could almost be an entree). On to the entrees...my wife and I both had the Gnocchi Primavera which was delicious and our friends both had the Agnalotti, a homemade pasta with different cheeses and blistered tomatoes. We all said we wished we were at home so we could lick the plates! The four of us split dessert which was an Olive Oil Cake and the Dark Chocolate Raspberry Torte......yum! We will definitely make this a destination when in Travelers Rest.
Rocket surgery did an amazing job of accommodating our party. We had people with dairy, gluten, and shellfish allergies. The kitchen staff came out and explained the progress of how everything was prepared. The food tasted amazing and the service was amazing! We will be going back regularly!
This was our first experience at Rocket Surgery, and it was wonderful. We enjoyed shrimp scampi and the panzanella salad as appetizers - the scampi tasted light and fresh, with great flavor, and although the marinated tomatoes in the salad were a little heavy, they had a wonderful taste. For my meal I tried the bolognese - as cliche as it sounds, I honestly felt like I was back in Italy. The bucatini was cooked to perfection, and the pork tomato pasta sauce was fantastic and flavorful, yet not overpowering.
Rocket Surgery jumped to the top of the list for our favorite Italian restaurant in Greenville - out performing Jiana and Limoncello hands down.
We have been loyal customers at Rocket Surgery. Last Saturday night we invited friends from Hendersonville to join us for dinner. We had not been back to Rocket Surgery since they changed to Italian Cuisine. Our dinner was amazing. Our guests were also delighted with their food.
Always a wonderful experience.
Catherine was a superb waitress and Dan does an amazing job with his creative artistry as a chef and is such a very kind man.
The whole experience was wonderful! We were welcomed by the manager who reviewed the menu with us and answered all of our questions. The service was fantastic and the food was great. We’ve never been before but will certainly be back. Love the atmosphere! The moss wall is amazing.
Wonderful food & service!
Love the gluten-free menu options! The chef is able to tailor his dishes to meet special dietary needs and that is a big plus in my book!
