   The Forager Bowl was too heavy on goat cheese. Goat cheese was overwhelming. Our server was very nice. Restaurant not at all busy, yet we couldn't be seated at the numerous empty tables.

   They did not have any brisket or pulled pork which was a good portion of their menu. The Lodge burger was very large but dry and overcooked. The steak fries had no taste and the coleslaw was dry. The lemonade tasted watery. The shrimp and grits which my son ordered was a very small portion and the rice was mushy. The pork chops that my husband ordered were good. Also the cheese curds we ordered as an appetizer were good and the serving size was good.

   It was a great experience and our server, Karlee, was exceptional. She gave us great menu item selections and made our dining experience very memorable.

   You need reservations to eat at Rock House for dinner. We were seated on time, but waited almost an hour and half for our food once we placed our order. Our server said there were more people than expected ordering from the Pub which was overwhelming the kitchen staff. And there were only two people cooking in the kitchen because they were short staffed that evening. Our server was apologetic and offered us soup on the house while we waited. If we had known how long it was actually going to take to get food we would have left. Our server had to be reminded to bring us table settings, and never offered or brought condiments. He did take %50 off the bill and give us a free piece of cake because we were so patient which I appreciated because the food when it finally came was mediocre at best. I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were cold and dry (how are cheesy grits dry?!) and the shrimp were overcooked and weren’t prepared as the menu described. My nephews’ fries with his burger were ice cold. A woman at the next table had the forager bowl and they forgot the mushrooms. I think they had people making food who don’t ordinarily cook because of how backed up the kitchen was. If the Pub (a separate establishment) can order from the full Rock House menu, how do their patrons orders get filled before restaurant guests with reservations? Why not have the Pub menu be limited or offer apps/small plates only? The Rock House is convenient if you’re staying in the state park and the outdoor seating is gorgeous, but it’s overpriced and the food is only mediocre at best. I would not recommend it. Most of the local places weren’t very good. Next time we go to Hocking Hills we will be cooking all of our meals in our cabin.

   Our server was great, but food was over an hour before receiving due to a kitchen backup and it was just… okay. Will not eat here again.

   The wait staff was excellent, even during a hectic dinner time at the restaurant. The night we were there, they had a large group to serve and we had to wait an hour to be served (even with a reservation). Food was acceptable. The complimentary dessert for our anniversary was amazing. At breakfast, the eggs/etc were served cold, but we were given a new breakfast and compensated with a discount. They are trying hard to do well, but need more fine tuning.

   Overall not worth the price. All the food was over cooked and dry. Service was not the greatest. We had to keep asking for things multiple times and sometimes we got what we asked for and other times not. This was my husbands birthday dinner and was not happy with how it turned out for him, pretty upsetting.

   Very nice venue. Service was slow. The ribeye steak was too grissly. The other food was delicious. There were children banging their silverware on the table. The manager did come out and talked to the family. Will go back again. Thank you

    The appetizer: chicken wings -worth the trip by itself. Had amazing salmon with cranberry sauce. The staff was most pleasant and the torte for my birthday was the best!!
