My girlfriend and I got engaged in Rockefeller Center then had an amazing dinner at the Cafe. The restaurant, location and views were incredible... Highly recommend this restaurant- even when they are offering their three-course option rather than a la cart menu.

It's the LOCATION that lures you in, what's better than viewing the Rockefeller ice skating rink, Christmas tree & happy families!

Just make sure you have reservations during the holidays. Open Table is great for that! And ask for table next to the glass for the BEST viewing!

Just want a drink, they have a small bar with limited seating! And remember that they are closed many evenings for corporate office parties!

I was very dissappointed. The food was not good and was expensive. Due to the holiday season, we had to purchase a $50.00 three course lunch. This information did not appear on their website. I didn't know about this until the day of our reservation. I only found out because Opentable listed it on the reservation confirmation. The service was just okay as I had to repeat myself several times. We also had to leave by 4:00 pm because they were setting up a private holiday party. I felt that we were forced to leave sooner than we had planned.

We loved it more before the prefixed menu. The food is very mediocre, over priced, jumbo shrimp? Look again...but the servers are always pleasant and it’s a great view at Christmas time.

Our server never came up to us. Had to flag down someone else. Table next to us got there 20 minutes after us and got their drinks, food, and dessert all before us. Spoke to manager, took off 20% which was nice but for such an expensive restaurant, their servers should know better.

Since we booked on open table we weren’t aware of the set pre fix lunch during month of December. No option to order from menu. They were nice and let us sit at the bar and do that

We were most pleased with the welcome, the service and the food at Rock Center Café. We did feel a bit like tourists, and should have known. We're New Yorkers, and expected to pay NY prices, but I feel a bit naïve about being told that it was a fixed price menu at $75.00/person.
It's not the price, but the limited selection; having to order the entire meal (bar, three courses through dessert) at one time. Lesson learned...
That said, the food was of good quality and well prepared. We were warmly welcomed and shown a table and our server was attentive and friendly.
So, if you're in NYC and you want to watch the skaters on the Rock Center rink while dining, be prepared for a cruise ship like dining experience...

What's more festive than a meal underntge rockerfeller center tree ? I feel the food has been escalated to a new level with some really well crafted dishes. The price fixe at the holidays is understood but pricey . It was loud so be prepared for that. I love the holiday drink menu always great. Amazing waiter named Chris . My only complaint was the appetizers were just soups and salads . Otherwise an up charge . The beet salad and mahi magi were great and the best part was the lobster bisque.

2nd time going here around the holiday season. went to dinner the first time and lunch this time. we were completely rushed due to a private party they were having after lunch. ordered the penne pasta with chicken. pasta was good, the chicken tasted old and reheated, not good. waiter was not friendly and was constantly rushing us clearly the plates before we even finished our food. My toddler's food and dessert was way better than all our food. Our water was warm.
Disappointed. I had such a great time the first time. Not worth the money. The ambience is deff what makes the restaurant.

Despite making reservations weeks in advance we were seated at a tiny table blocking the main walkway into the restaurant. Every 15 seconds my chair was knocked into by a server trying to squeeze through. After being seated 20 minutes and not seeing a waiter we complained to the hostess and were finally waited on. The menu has changed to a three course fixed priced menu for the month of December. For $50 I ordered a very average turkey sandwich similar to what is served at Subway but lower quality. It was such a mob in there that it was difficult to talk. The line was so long for the restroom that I decided to walk back to my hotel vs waiting in line. It wax extremely disappointing. Will never return there.

We went to Rock Center Cafe on a Saturday at 11:30am. We were hoping to have brunch but they only offered a prix fixe lunch menu. Overall, the service was slow. It took a while for them to take our order. We ordered our food and about 30-40 minutes later they brought our main entree but forgot our starter (lobster bisque). We let them know that we hadn't received our bisque yet. They took away the entrees and brought our bisque. From there, things went pretty smoothly. The food was pretty good. The best part was the view of Rockefeller ice skating rink. It was wonderful! Despite the service issues, I would dine there again.

If you want to see the rink at night while eating, it’s a decent spot. Even though we had a reservation we had to wait an additional 45 minutes for a table, as when we checked in on time it put us in que with the walk ins. The noise level was Pretty high, which did not allow much for table conversation. I realize it’s was more than likely due to holiday and weekend timing so I would recommend to others, so long as they’ve got realistic expectations.

It was mother / daughter day !! We went to see the tree and have dinner. The restaurant was very busy, but our waiter was great and we had a great view of tree and the ice skaters. Food was ok but a little pricey, but I think its all about the view. It was a nice treat during the holiday season. I would recommend it

Must have a reservation. Only difficulty, and it was minor, was the people waiting for tables were literally watching us eat they were so close. Waiting needs to be in the lobby. Fabulous service, worth it for the view.

Everything was wonderful - truly- except the almost 40 minute wait for our reserved table. This restaurant doesn't have nearly a good enough place to wait comfortably if you are with child/children- can't take them to the bar.

We went before going to see the Rockettes. We got there and were seated promptly near the window. It was a 90 minute wait without a reservation. The servers were very attentive. The food was good but a little slow coming out. Reservations are a must during the holiday season. If you are going to eat here before the Rockettes, I would recommend getting the reservation about 90 minutes prior to the show so you have plenty of time. Their signature drinks, winter sangria and the hot toddy were amazing. It was also great people watching.

We took our granddaughters here for lunch before going to Radio City for the Christmas Show. It worked out perfectly. They sat us right away and the service was amazing. The food came quickly and was very good. They had a kids menu. The waiters were very nice. We didn’t have much time before the show and we were a bit concerned about timing but all worked out perfectly. It was fun watching the skaters. Just a little pricy but worth it for us in this occasion. Don’t go without a reservation, especially around Christmas!

Had a drink at the bar, vibrant and lively. Sat for dinner promptly and Service was very good. Our seats were by the window, so we had an excellent view of the ice skating rink and tree, definitely a good people watching seat. I was presently surprised that the food was excellent. Definitely a good spot to dine during the holiday season

It has been quite a few years since I had dined here. My memory of my previous visit was the Rock was a special place with near fine dining. This time it is very simple with no tablecloths more like a cafeteria. I guess that is why it is called the Rock Cafe. The view is good of the Center's ice skating. Of course you look through dirty windows. Our waiter seemed non caring with a get you in and get you out attitude. Although it was long between courses, the food was only adequate and not memorable.
