We love eating here. Our favorite waiter is Robert and he made my birthday with my grandson a special day. The atmosphere, the service and the food are wonderful. The rink opened the day before and made me look forward to our next dinner after the tree goes up!!
Our dining experience was affected negatively by an inept waiter. Food and ambience were positive so, hopefully, the bad service was an anomaly.
Good food & service with ability to watch ice skaters. Love this place.
Not what it used to be. Tasteless soup and salad. Too bad.
It was my daughter’s birthday. We did the Italian meal family style. Wonderful
Our waiter was very attentive and made sure all of my husband's dietary restrictions were met. Our meals were delicious and the dessert recommendation was great. We were lucky enough to arrive on a night with half price bottles of wine and enjoyed a lovely selection of prosecco. I would definitely recommend the cafe to others.
It's a fun experience if there is ice skating outside. The food is good BUT the price is too high unless there's a show outside to watch!
The location is great but try and sit away from the fountain, it is loud - not a lot of conversation possible. Food was only OK. Not bad, just not exciting. It was windy so everything cooled down quickly - no fault of the restaurant, but it goes with the locality. I would have preferred to have been there for drinks, rather than breakfast.
The meal and ambiance and service were all a joy! The watermelon and Tomato salad was unusual and perfect for my tastebuds.
Everything was great but we were sitting outside and the flies kept trying to eat our food.
Had a meeting and sat outside. Great place to sit and it is memorable
Great Service and Excellent Atmosphere. Our waiter was perfect. He was helpful and kept our water and drinks filled. Even offered to take pictures and retake them, if we didn't like them. Service was timely so that we could get to the Top of the Rock Sunset tour. I would highly recommend the Rock Center Café!!! Loved dining in front of the Statue with Waterfall!!! Thank you for a Fabulous experience!!!
Is the best i lovit everything food, drink the view😊
Relaxing atmosphere. Food and service great. We chose to eat indoors. Outside dining appeared crowded with other diners close by.
This was one of the best meals I’ve had at Rock Center Cafe! Every item on the “Endless Summer “ menu was delicious! Thanks to all who made this happen.
Wonderful staff and great food! Unfortunately it is closing in January along with the Sea Grill. Definitely a spot to visit before then!
The waiter was more interested in pushing appetizers and drinks than in bringing bread or soft beverages to the table.
The only reason I gave it a 2 was because the location is beautiful. We ordered pulled pork waffle fries and they were cold. I ordered the lobster, again it was cold and the bacon/corn hash was burnt. There was alot of fat on the $52 sirloin. You couldn’t spread the butter on the bread because it came right out of the refrigerator and was hard. For 3 meals and an appetizer it cost over $200! Although our waitress was nice she wasn’t very attentive and the gentleman who took our plates away and refilled our waters had very strong body odor. This was a birthday dinner and I wish I picked somewhere else to go. I could overlook 1 or 2 things but it seemed that the whole meal was a disappointment.
Great location and place for a business meeting or casual meeting.
Our waiter was amazing, the service was excellent. It was a great experience especially since we had friends from the UK with us.
Had never eaten here before and took the whole family. Incredible ambiance in the middle of an iconic NYC location. Great food, especially dessert, and excellent service. A can’t miss if entertaining or visiting in New York.
I absolutely love your chicken Caesar salad. It’s so delicious and a really generous portion. The waiter also brought me the bread and oil, as always. The dark bread is so great and dipping it in the oil makes it outstanding. The waiter and other staff were so pleasant and gave me time and then checked if everything was OK. I love sitting by the window and looking at the outdoors; and that note had been put on my reservation. I got a terrific table. Such a pleasant atmosphere. I love it there and was sorry to hear via an email from Patina group that it will be closing at end of year. Rock Center Cafe has been my go-to place for lunch when o go to theater in NYC for a long time.
Enjoyed the ambiance. First time visiting. Plan to go again.
Our server was wonderful. When we asked for items not stated on menu he and the kitchen accommodated our requests. When learning a we were celebrating a birthday a slice of cake magically appeared. Celebrating a birthday with small children attending can be tricky however this restaurant couldn’t have been nicer
I’ve been coming to Rock Center Cafe for a long time, 12 years as a tenant and now when I get into the city. The staff is great - Maria, Rosario, Cameron, etc.
I was very upset to hear about the restaurant closings in January!
We had a great time! The perfect atmosphere for a fun Rockefeller Center experience!
Must do stop for locals and visitors alike--especially impressive after dark
Fine and comfortable with great views of Rock Center.
I was disappointed with my table which was in front of the door to outside dining. While the dining room was air conditioned but the heat from the outside over powered the air conditioned inside. It was hot and humid on Saturday. Our servers were not friendly at all. Food quality was fine but the dining room was too dark. There was a big party behind our table which made our conversation very challenging.
As a New Yorker, I never come to this place, but having friends visiting from abroad, I thought it would be a good place for them to get to know Rockefeller Plaza, so we made a reservation. Upon arrival the host's service was simply TERRIBLE. She ignored our reservation and told us that we could only sit on the "sofas" (which didn't even have cushions) or the "high tables". She told us that were not allowed to sit at the "regular" tables unless we would have dinner. Even after telling her that we DID have a reservation for dinner, she persisted in her "policy". She sent us of to a table without accompanying us or even handing us a menu. We did nevertheless take place at a "regular" table. Once seated, came the next challenge of obtaining the right menu from the waiter, that at first claimed that we could not have the "drinks and appetizers" menu at the regular tables. After insisting that we actually didn't wanted the "drinks and appetizers" menu, but the "dinner" menu, he told us there was only one menu, which he eventually brought us. That menu apparently did have all the aforementioned items.
In the end, the food was okay, but we didn't really enjoy it because the whole fuss upon arriving.
From now on, this place is on my TOURIST TRAP LIST.
We had a dinner in the Summer Garden with my friends visiting from Europe. Our table for 8 was in the middle of the garden with the view of the fountain and the bar. Our waitress was very nice and patient, it took us more than half an hour to gather all members of our party and a long time to decide what we wanted. She was friendly and explained items on the menu and accomodated all our special requests - extra plates for the kids, extra condiments, etc. The food was good and the ambience great, a wonderful New York experience.
This is a more casual partner to the Sea Grill, just on the other side of the Rockefeller Center Skating Rink/Patio. It has a different but tasty menu, including a reasonable lunch time prix fixe menu. Great for those working around or visiting the Rockefeller Center area who want a sit down meal at a decent price, with pleasant surroundings and a low noise level that allows one to carry on a conversation.
Food was very good, and cost was very reasonable for what we got, and the fabulous ambience. Not much more than an ordinary restaurant, but such a terrific location and service. I am a native New Yorker, and am ashamed to say that I never ate here before because I thought it was too touristy and too expensive. I was wrong on both counts.
Surprisingly good food and drinks and exceptional service from Robert. I had the chips and guac and my friend had the shrimp salad, and we both agreed that the food was much better than expected and very good. The only thing was that although they show online they have a brunch menu, their Saturday brunch service ends at 11 am, which was disappointing, since we were going for brunch. They also didn't have many gluten-free options but Robert made up for that by being very knowledgeable about the menu and about what was gluten-free and what wasn't. The setting is beautiful of course, and while I've been there for drinks before on a weekday, going for lunch on a weekend was different and lovely.
Excellent service, water came on time, and waiters answers you when asked. Burger was huge and good for dinner. Great convenience with Rockefeller.
Thought the meals were kind of small.
Very disappointed in our restaurant week experience. The food was underwhelming. The dressing on the grain bowl salad was tart - too much lemon. Neither of us liked it.
The pasta caprese was dull; the salmon had a very hard crust and it was over w tasteless grain.
The worst was the sangria. $15 for a tiny glass filled with ice and the taste was strange. Not enjoyable.
The waiter really wanted to rush us along - but we took our time as the place was almost empty at 3pm.
we had an 8:30 am reservation. Only 3 tables were occupied. We sat outside which was perfect. However, the staff seemed to want to rush us. Multiple times they would try to take our dishes away with food still on it. We didn't dare put down our silverware for a moment for fear they would rush in to take our dishes!
So much fun to sit outside in RCC Summer Seating area!
