Rock Bottom Brewery Restaurant - San Jose Ratings and Reviews
I love Rock Bottom and I have been a few times. The food is always good but the service when we went was crap. They even told us when we got there that is was a slow night so the food should come out quick. It took forever to take our order, my grandpa ordered wings and the server didn't order them since she said 'I wasn't sure you wanted them' idk what that even means but when when she brought out all other appetizers and we realized there was no wings we ordered them and they came 45 minutes later. 45 minutes for some wings. My brother ordered a beer and 25 minutes later he had to get up and go ask where it was. Stuff came out in strange orders and the waitress never seemed to be around. Rock Bottom is usually great but that night the service was crap. I would guess the server was new and not very good at her job. My husband got so annoyed he didn't even order dinner.
Whole experience was unacceptable. Arrived, and our table was not ready. Very few diners, would have expected reserved tables to be identified by staff. Ordered cocktails, my wife swears there was no alcohol in her's. Ordered nacho's as a appetizer, was decent, no small plates offered. Platter was never bussed, stayed in the middle of the table entire meal. Waitress seemed new, no checking back for drink refills, reorders, how was the food, etc. Long time to get check. It might have just been New Year's Eve, but my guess is this is pretty standard, a lot of empty tables, and available reservations. Should have known.
We enjoyed a nice dinner with friends the other night. The smoked chicken tacos (4) were tasty and plentiful, though could use some sauce on them. The fried pickles were great and the hot Asiago crab and artichoke dip was also a winner! The burgers were huge and tasty as well. Service was good and attentive and we had a good time catching up
Service was not good tonight. Waited to be seated, despite reservation and open seating readily available. Waited another 10 minutes for server to make an initial visit. By that point we were ready to order both drinks and our meal. The meal took nearly 30 minutes to arrive, despite there being only 3 of us and two of the meals were actually appetizers. Despite the wait, our waiter never stopped by, until we finally waived him down for a long overdue refill. Just an overall poor service evening.
We came here for dinner. Food was good and we like that they have seasonal beer. My husband tried the Wicked Elf and I had the Bottoms Up. For dinner he had smoked chicken tacos and I had the jambalaya. Bottoms Up is my usual beer and I like it the best and the jambalaya was delicious. My husband was ok with his Wicked Elf and he liked his dinner. We had a very good server. We'll be back.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Though they mentioned that I had marked the occasion, there wasn’t anything special offered. The service was great, the food was even better. The beer was exceptional. Atmosphere was as expected for a brew-pub - business dinners, friends, families. Overall great experience, and we will definitely go again.
We ordered two burgers, one medium and the other medium-well, both came out medium-rare. Waiter never checked on us after our food came and most of our party left before I called out to waiter for check. Beer is good and I’d like to like the place, but out of the six of us at the table it pretty much sucked.
We come here at least every other week and it seems to always get a little worse service every time. It’s so loud with the music and people talking. Turn off the music! The beer even tasted a little off this time. The food has always been good. Service was pretty good, very busy but at least this waitress was productive as other times they have not been.
Came here for happy hour with husband on Thursday. It was a nice day and we chose to sit outside. The hostess was super friendly and performed excellent service, as well as our server. This was our very first experience coming here receiving excellent service that worth my time to write a review.
We had a coupon through email for a burger and a beer for $10. What a deal! We loved it. The burger was good. I like my usual Faller Wheat and my husband had Rocktoberfest Lager. We both liked our beers. Finger tenders were good too. Wish they have more food selection on happy hour menu though.
We will come back soon. As a matter of fact, we come here often enough, sometimes with family and friends.
We went in to this restaurant thinking it would have great beers. Neither of us could find one we liked. The food was OK for a sports bar and after begging the manager she finally put on the game we asked for, the game of the week. In going to the rest room there were 4 urinals, of which only one did NOT have a bag over it, so the rest were unusable. Not the best experience I have ever had at a restaurant!
There are so many options for dining and Rock Bottom Brewery is convenient but often forgotten (by us). It had been at least 5 years since our last visit...however, this time we will become regulars. The food options would satisfy anyone with special needs; on a low fat or vegan, etc. My husband is a meat & potatoes type of guy so he selected the rib eye. The size and taste of this steak was a pleasant surprise: he would give this entree a 9. I selected the grilled steak & portobello mushroom salad. The appetizer we opted to try was the Asiago Artichoke and Crab dip with the flavors surprising good...the only downside was it being messy. Our waitress was exceptional and the only negative was the noise which wasn't conducive for conversations. Rock Bottom is a neighborhood gem!
I made this reservation to celebrate my daughter's anniversary. I put that in the reservation. We were greeted with yes we have your reservation for a happy birthday and said no anniversary and they said oh yeah. I ordered two appetizers and then was told they were out of calamari. So I ordered a different app. The Guacamole showed up first then several minutes later the calamari shows up. Not brought by our waitress. We had ordered our dinnets and when they arrived my son-in-law did not have a dinner we would be right back 5 minutes later no dinner no one coming to table we spent another 5 minutes tracking down the serve. 5 minutes later shows up. About 15 minutes later waitress showed up with check. We were not asked about dessert which we had been planning to order since it was an anniversary. Very frustrating meal. We will not be back.
Typical sports bar, service was good-food a bit greasy by tasty. Needs more attention to presentation and making sure buns for the burgers and sandwiches, etc are not greasy. Husband enjoyed the beer. We chose to sit outdoors which was nice, brighter and quieter than indoors. Overall a good experience.
I had made a reservation and when we had arrived they did not have any tables available. We were waiting for over an hour til we finally got seated. The portion they closed up and said we couldn't be seated there because of trivia was suppose to happen at 8pm it was unavailable and then became available after 30 minutes of being informed that trivia was not going to happen. We had already been hungry. Took a little time for us to get our food. The person serving us was helpful in trying to get us situated. The only thing was just the start of the evening when we had already placed reservation and still had to wait so long.
Server was nice but slow and non-attentive. Went for a birthday, the birthday person ordered no cheese on her meal. The meal was made and sent back 3 TIMES because there was cheese on it each time! The entire table was finished with their meal and we are still waiting on the birthday girls entree. Table wasn't cleared from appetizers so during and after dinner there were finished plates and empty glasses. We had to continuously ask the hostess to find our server. A manager finally popped in and took something off the bill which was nice.
