We had a pretty big party and the waitress who served us was totally on top of things. Got all our food and drinks at the same time and she was even willing to split the check 10 ways (bless her heart I know that's a total hassle) she was very sweet and gave good advice about local spots we could check on a Saturday night. Food was great, drinks were tasty. It was a great experience!
We had a reservation for 6:30 for 8 people. Apparently there was some type of conflict and hostess asked us how long we were going to be because they had another party coming in at 8pm and it would be really nice to seat them at that table. She did say if your not done no worries we will figure something else out. Put a damper on everything. Received appetizers, didn’t receive plates for them until 10 minutes later. Drinks not refilled timely, orders were incomplete and lukewarm. Received side order of. Fries after everyone was done eating. Not a smile could be had from any employee encounter. Hadn’t been here in a long time. Was looking forward to our group dinner. It was just a let down from the time we arrived.
Quality fresh food Great service had a business meeting there all the meals were impressive.
Had a nice dinner for our party of 7. Casey was our waiter and did a great job. He stayed on top of things and everyone's order was accurate.
I love Portland, and this was NOT the place to go! We took our college son, and three of his friends. The service was SO BAD, the waitress was not happy to be there, nor was she happy about the LOUD noise. When she asked me what I wanted to drink..."Just point to it, I can't hear you." No "Please...I'm sorry, but could you..." After my husband ordered his beer, she came back about 15 minutes later to say "What kind of beer did you want again?" Not a place for a meet and greet...The food arrived, all but mine...One of the supervisors came over "Did you order something?" I wasn't going to hold up 3 college boys, so insisted they eat...As they were "licking their plates", the waitress showed up, "Did you get your meal?" Another 10 minutes later she brought it out, and I told her I no longer was interested. I wasn't charged, but no apology. I wish I had gotten her name. People like her give restaurants bad names.
I ordered smoked chicken tacos. They were great. However, they were supposed to come with shredded cabbage but were served with romaine lettuce instead. I let my server know about it after we were done and she was very nice about it. I would like to try them again sometime as described with the cabbage. I would like to have more crunch.
We went here for valentine’s day and it was perfect! The food was really good. I got the Mac and cheese and my boyfriend got a steak (both of our favorites to splurge) and the beer was amazing too, lots of variety and not the same old stuff were used to drinking. We were late for our reservation and they were super nice and got us in anyways. We will definitely be back!
My boyfriend and I had our first date here 5 years ago. We have always loved the atmosphere, good food and good beer.
Although we were late for our reservation (we had a drive from Salem and couldn't find parking), we still had our table. Vanessa, our waitress, was super AWESOME! She kept our group entertained. We got our drinks fairly quick and our food even quicker. Food was delicious and drinks were amazing!! We will definitely be returning, probably next weekend again.
Always reliable service and great value and variety on thw menu.
We have gone before & quite enjoyed the atmosphere & food, but this last time service was poor. Things took forever & we had to ask twice about things, & even then we never received some of our requests. It being a Birthday Party, made it worse. The Birthday Patron never received, cake, ice cream, or any dessert. Nor was it offered.
Great food, server was MIA a few times. Good value and the beer is always great
This was the worst service I have received at this establishment. Our server didn't seem to know what he was doing and hardly ever checked on us. It took 45 minutes for us to get our drinks and clearly he forgot about them because when we did get them they were watered down. Our appetizers came out at the same time as our dinner. When we asked for our checks we had to repeat what we ordered. It took almost 20 minutes to pay. The service was just really slow. And other tables that had a different server didn't appear to be having the same issues we had. It was just unfortunate.
It was louder than I remember. Could have gone with the music turned down a bit. We had to flag down our server to ask for drink/water refills. And the server and manager both seemed uninformed about using the OpenTable $20 certificate, which was a bit of a nuisance. Otherwise, great food.
Had the ribeye which turned out much better than expected. The service was outstanding....shout out to Vanessa. Thank you making out night...
We had onion rings and stuffed peppers. So delicious! You gotta try the stuffed peppers. The Wicked Elf Ale was excellent.
Guacamole and chips appetizer delivered as chips only, guacamole finally arrived after dinner main course served. Dinner delivered cold. Reheated in microwave... breaded chicken dish tough after reheat in microwave. Manager did credit the bad dinner.
Horrible experience along with bad food. We had a 7pm reservation that was totally ignored. Rice was completely uncooked and about broke my tooth
Fabulous ribeye steak and a cheerful hubub atmosphere with quite a crowd press to get in --
When we come back you better bring the kiddies' french fries first, not last having forgotten them; A musician expects songs to at least be recognizable with that rack-full of fancy sound equipment and hefty speakers hanging overhead, but your eq's were set to deliver discoteque industrial thumping -- as if for dancing rather than dining -- the toilets were few & a long hallway back to the 1930's -- quite a disconnect from the otherwise modern joint -- a beer hall really needs better pissers -- hope you get to finish your remodel that forgot them. But hey, we'll be back for the excellent menu & awesome brews. The samplers & nuts while we waited was a nice touch.
Rock Bottom Brewery is a great restaurant with good food.
I would like to suggest that the people who make the software for this review take off the question about the noise level. Some people would put "excellent" for the loaded noise, while others would put "excellent" for peace and quiet.
Our waitress, Mary, was exceptionally good at her job - a 12 on a 10 point scale! The menu offered selections for everyone on our group - with very different tastes. We'll be back!
Waitress was slow and very forgetful, we had to ask another server for help. Other than that, it was good. Two meals (tacos and Mac n cheese) were stale tasting- very dry. Other meals and drinks were great.
Took 8 of my friends there for my 50th birthday last weekend and walked away a little embarrassed for recommending this place. We had drink orders that either came 20 minutes late or didn't come at all and had food (mac and cheese on 2 separate dishes) that came out cold from sitting for so long and steaks came out 20 minutes after the rest of the meals as some people were finished with there meals.
The manager came out and apologized after 2 hours of being there and told us that the food orders were on the house which was really nice of him but unfortunately my night was not as it should have been. We did leave a really good tip for the waitress as we knew it was not her fault and thanked her for hanging in there
We had a great experience with our server. However we did not enjoy the group behind us who treated the server terribly which you guys have no control over. Just wish people treated servers with more respect. Had an amazing birthday. Would go again!
The food was really good (order tacos) and the beers were delicious. The service was speedy and polite!
Food was great. Service was very bad. Persob greeted us in a way that made you feel unwanted. Waitress brought one appetizer and did not bring the second order till our entree came. Checked if we needed anything only once.
Rock Bottom is consistently good. Great beer. Really good food.
Fun place, my husband loved the beer and the flight he tried, took some home.
Came here for a birthday / 4th of July get-together with friends. Great beer selection and food was very tasty! Not too loud for 7PM and staff were very friendly and resourceful.
Met my date for dinner here pre-Def Leppard concert. This is really our go-to spot. We hit prior to Winterhawks games as well. It's right on the MAX line, and on-street parking is available if you get there early enough. Large variety of menu options, and we've never had a bad meal here. Service has always been outstanding. Prices are reasonable for what we experience.
Good food, great service. If you are into beers, they have a good selection with suggested pairings for each menu item.
Very good handmade veggie burger.
They were out of the first two menu choices I picked.
Good beer and food!!
Server was great! Hostess did not ask late arriving members of the group if they were with someone so meeting got off to a late start. I did leave names. However, they were flexible about our moving from booth to table.
Great food, atmosphere and company
My grandson and I enjoyed a nice dinner here on the way to see a musical at the Keller. It was perfectly located close by and has a nice menu and friendly staff.
Went for the dessert and it was amazing! Get a booth if you can!
A late choice for Valentine's Day dinner before a concert at the Schnitz. Food was better than expected, and was excellent in all respects.
The lunch ans service were very good. I will be back.
