Rock Bottom Brewery Restaurant - Milwaukee Ratings and Reviews
Ashley, our server was fantastic. One of the drinks ordered was not good and she cheerfully replaced it with another. She was right there to answer questions or refill our water without being a bother. Food was great- a great choice before walking over to the Riverside for a show.
We've been to Rock Bottom several times. On this occasion, it was an unusually quiet and sedate Sunday afternoon before the theater, which differed greatly from our other visits when it was crowded and lively. The one constant through all of our meals there has been the tasty and well-executed comfort food. The portions are quite generous, the food is generally well seasoned, and the proteins are cooked properly. My wife, an admitted finicky eater, had the pretzel-crusted chicken with cheddar mashed potatoes and green beans, and finished everything but half of the large portion of green beans. I thought the beans were 60-90 seconds short of any al dente, but this may be more indicative of my personal preference than anything else. I had the bacon cheddar burger with onion rings. The burger was cooked perfectly (medium) and the jalapeno ranch sauce served on the side was especially good as a dipping sauce for the onion rings. Our waiter, Wyatt, was very pleasant and attentive without hovering, and refilled beverages without prompts. I did not have of their beer on this visit, but I can state with confidence from previous visits that they have something for every beer lover and I have not yet had one I did not enjoy.
Rock Bottom is not fine dining in an ostentatious setting nor is it intended to be, but it is one of the better brewery/restaurants in this crowded niche. It also is reasonably priced (our bill came to $32). We'll definitely be back.
We took two teenage vegetarians and they both had few choices and settled upon the mac n cheese. They liked the mac n cheese, but I would have liked for there to be a few more healthy options for them. I had the pulled chicken tacos, and they were really yummy. We told the server we needed to get to a show, so he sped things up without making us feel rushed. I am glad we chose Rock Bottom for our pre-theater dinner.
This Rock Bottom needs retrofitting. It's dark and a little dank. The restrooms are always grungy.
However, you can't beat the price. It's fairly quick and the beer's good. That aren't too many places downtown that's in between almost fine dining and fast-food. This one fills the bill. You can be in and out fairly quickly. I fear it will out of business. It used to attact more of a younger crowd.
I think it needs a new location, a bright place, one with free ample parking. So probably , not downtown. I will miss the tables along the river in the warmer months if it does move. That is just pure gold - very pleasant.
The college age servers have always been pleasant.
Everything we had to eat was great! My husband got a flight of beer and enjoyed them all. The service was fantastic. Quick and on point. We went there before heading out to a concert downtown and we had plenty of time because the service was quick! Will definitely return!
Our table was ready at the time we requested and we were seated immediately. The place was busy since there was a concert at the Pabst Theater around the corner but the service was good and the food came out hot within a reasonable time. The food and drinks were very good and the price was reasonable. We often stop here when in Milwaukee and will continue to do so.
I chose Rock Bottom because it was near the theater a show was at that I was attending. I was on a date and expected it to be more dim and give more of a romantic feel. Moreover, it was definitely more of a bar feel and the food wasn't the best but it was okay.
We had a girls night out and started with dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery before seeing a show. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the chicken avocado sandwich. The food was great. The service was great. Check out this place when you are downtown. And they also have some great beer!
We waited 20 minutes for a server and then another 10 minutes for him to bring our drinks. He didn't take our order until close to 45 minutes after seating. Our table was so dimly lit that we literally couldn't read the menu. Nachos were ok but we couldn't see what we were eating. Hostess was stupid and rude.
This restaurant is good for its bar scene, TV sports watchers, large casual groups. Good to walk into for a quick bite if you are out and about. It might be difficult to hear each other if the place is full. It is a large venue. It is on the waterfront, and if warm you can eat outside. Beer is good. Meal was average. prices average. Kids would be fine here.
We enjoy the food here, but we don't come as often as we'd like because there is always a problem with the service. This time it was ok, but never was asked if we wanted another drink or dessert. It was my daughter's birthday, so we were looking forward to having something, but by the time she came back, and then never asked, we were frustrated and just wanted to leave. so even though you have a nice time, food is good, you still leave with an uneasy feeling which really ruins lunch. Disappointed is the overall review.
The restaurant is dirty, the bathrooms were filthy. One member of our dining party thought the food was so bad he couldn't eat it and refused to pay for it. We waited 40 minutes for food to be served that probably took 10 minutes to make. I would never go back. Even the river made outdoor dining awful with a bad smell from the river and uncomfortable chairs.
