Rock Bottom Brewery Restaurant - Milwaukee Ratings and Reviews
This Rock Bottom needs retrofitting. It's dark and a little dank. The restrooms are always grungy.
However, you can't beat the price. It's fairly quick and the beer's good. That aren't too many places downtown that's in between almost fine dining and fast-food. This one fills the bill. You can be in and out fairly quickly. I fear it will out of business. It used to attact more of a younger crowd.
I think it needs a new location, a bright place, one with free ample parking. So probably , not downtown. I will miss the tables along the river in the warmer months if it does move. That is just pure gold - very pleasant.
The college age servers have always been pleasant.
Everything we had to eat was great! My husband got a flight of beer and enjoyed them all. The service was fantastic. Quick and on point. We went there before heading out to a concert downtown and we had plenty of time because the service was quick! Will definitely return!
Our table was ready at the time we requested and we were seated immediately. The place was busy since there was a concert at the Pabst Theater around the corner but the service was good and the food came out hot within a reasonable time. The food and drinks were very good and the price was reasonable. We often stop here when in Milwaukee and will continue to do so.
I chose Rock Bottom because it was near the theater a show was at that I was attending. I was on a date and expected it to be more dim and give more of a romantic feel. Moreover, it was definitely more of a bar feel and the food wasn't the best but it was okay.
We had a girls night out and started with dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery before seeing a show. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the chicken avocado sandwich. The food was great. The service was great. Check out this place when you are downtown. And they also have some great beer!
We waited 20 minutes for a server and then another 10 minutes for him to bring our drinks. He didn't take our order until close to 45 minutes after seating. Our table was so dimly lit that we literally couldn't read the menu. Nachos were ok but we couldn't see what we were eating. Hostess was stupid and rude.
This restaurant is good for its bar scene, TV sports watchers, large casual groups. Good to walk into for a quick bite if you are out and about. It might be difficult to hear each other if the place is full. It is a large venue. It is on the waterfront, and if warm you can eat outside. Beer is good. Meal was average. prices average. Kids would be fine here.
We enjoy the food here, but we don't come as often as we'd like because there is always a problem with the service. This time it was ok, but never was asked if we wanted another drink or dessert. It was my daughter's birthday, so we were looking forward to having something, but by the time she came back, and then never asked, we were frustrated and just wanted to leave. so even though you have a nice time, food is good, you still leave with an uneasy feeling which really ruins lunch. Disappointed is the overall review.
The restaurant is dirty, the bathrooms were filthy. One member of our dining party thought the food was so bad he couldn't eat it and refused to pay for it. We waited 40 minutes for food to be served that probably took 10 minutes to make. I would never go back. Even the river made outdoor dining awful with a bad smell from the river and uncomfortable chairs.
We went for drinks and dinner before a show at the Riverside Theater. Yummy! Food was great, beer was cold and delicious. We were offered 3 sample brews with our beer order, which was really fun. The dessert menu is incredible, although we didn't have any, the table next to us did and they did not look disappointed. The setting on the river is beautiful.
We love Rock Bottom Brewery. This is our "go to" place whenever we are coming into town for a show. They never disappoint, Great Service - Great Food!!
**Desserts are large portions. The Mt. Brownie is large enough for at least 3 to 4 people. Carrot Cake was more than enough for 2 (we took some home)
Thought it would be easy to make a reservation to ensure a seamless transition into our night for a show at the Pabst. I'm not sure if the hostess was new or if their reservation system is really that bad. When we had arrived on time for our reservation - we were told the table we were supposed to be seated at had just gotten their food so we had to wait for them to be finished. We asked...can you put us somewhere else instead to honor our reservation timing? We only had 3 people - it wasn't like we were a massive group. Initially, the answer was no and we were handed a buzzer to wait like everyone else. After a few minutes - they decided they could seat us at a different spot - probably because they could tell we weren't happy. Meanwhile a huge line accumulated at the door. Although we did get seated quicker than they originally told us - it still felt very flustering. Hope they work those kinks out because next time I'm going to think twice about making a reservation there.
