Came for a birthday early dinner and drinks. Everyone liked the food, and the waitress recommended an IPA that was very good. My stuffed peppers were spicy and better than expected. Had a quesadilla appetizer that surprised everyone. One of our party, who works nearby, had been there several times; she enjoyed our Saturday 5:30 pm time -- not wall-to-wall people. Gave 4, not 5 stars for luke-warm french fries, and took a long time to get out food, even though place was very "empty."
Went for Sunday lunch. It wasn't busy. Great food and was easy for a larger group to talk and hear each other. And great food and wait staff! And did I say the food was great?!
The nachos were a great way to kickoff our meal. They 're made with real cheese, just the right amount. The chips remained crunchy. They weren't laden down with "stuff." They had just the right amount of toppings. The three of us were still ready for our meal when it came.
I ve been coming to RB for 16 years! It’s a wonderful experience all around! Keep up the good work!
This place is always fun. Great food, even better beer.
I came here with friends to celebrate my birthday I had lots of fun and the food was pretty good!
Typical Brewery kind of place. Food is pretty good. Service was great. Not expensive. My wife top sirloin was really excellent. My enchiladas was just OK. Wouldn't order again.
We were going to a play across the street at UCSD Jacob Weiss theater and wanted a quick bite but not Fast Food before the play. This was perfect! Great food, great service and 20% off since we were going to the play!
We got there at the 11:30 opening and were seated and ordered in good time. Food was fine and prices were OK. Wait staff and greeter were friendly and helpful.
We really enjoyed it. The food was great, the beer was perfect and the pretty drink almost had her ordering another.
Took a bit to get our orders but it was lunch during the holiday season. we had veggie burgers, tacos and the 2 am burger (excellent). 5 orders arrived on time after about 30 minutes 9see first sentence) and the 6 th order was wring so it had to be redone. it finally arrived and the restaurant didnt chrge for it so that made up for it. if you have a large group go early. good choices.
Food was good, not as noisy as I'd thought, seating uncomfortable!
Fun place to go as a group.
Great service, excellent meal. Not quite as cool as some of the other RB's in the chain, like DT LA. A bit younger college skew but fine with that. Very attentive staff, comfortable and gracious.
Service was a little poor. I sat a while before I was approach by another waitress asking if I had been seen. She brought me water and it still took a while before my waitress arrived, then on 2 occasions food that we didn't order came to the table. Everything seemed a little disorganized. We enjoyed the food but service could definately use some improvement.
Terrific food and beer. Great to dine before performance at LA Jolla Playhouse.
The reviews are true! This is a great place. They were very accommodating when I needed my motorized scooter plugged in, when I wanted the Cowboys game on and when I asked for more jalapeños. Our server was happy and accommodating and we were very comfortable. I loved the vibe and the people. The food was solid too!
The food choices were great and everyone loved their selection.
Our waiter was very attentive, courteous and fun.
very good service. prices are decent. the food is typical bar and grill fare but tasty. overall a good place to hang out.
We went for lunch. I had the pulled pork and upgraded to the Mac n cheese side dish. By far the worst Mac n cheese I have ever had in a restaurant. The pulled pork was dry!!! My wife and niece both had the lobster and shrimp enchiladas. They were very happy with their meals. The service was excellent. The waitress took my meal off the bill, and since we were celebrating birthdays, she comped us dessert. The carrot cake is sooooo delicious. Of course, that could have been just because I was starving since my meal wasn't edible.
Rock Bottom is always great. It's quiet at lunchtime so good for a business meeting and it's fun in the evening especially in the bar - which is noisy in the evening. The food is very good value and the beer is good. Most of the servers are young and have worked there for a long time -- they care about getting to know the customers and giving great service.
Love the pretzel bread & Mac n cheese!! Our server, Megan (from TX) was fantastic!
There are better places to eat. Every thing was just ok.
We went here based on the reviewed of others online but we were not please. The Asiago Artichoke & Crab Dip hardly has any crab and came very loose not as a thick dip to use on the toasted crostinis and not tasty either. The classic buffalo wings do not have much taste and came a bite dry. The steak is tender but again no taste. The batter on the onion rings did not came crispy. Their famous Bacon Chicken Mac 'N Cheese was a very big disappointment. It is so loose in the cream sauce, bacon wasn't even crispy and chicken has no taste. The Lobster & Shrimp Enchiladas I did not even tasted any lobster and it has ways too much green chile cream on top. We were very disappointed with the meals and regardless to say we left a lot of food behind uneaten with paying over $100.00. This place is probably good for the bar and watching games. However the service was very good.
Slow and loud
Food was delicious and the beer was good also! Service was awesome and we had a great time!
Where's our points?
Poor server, was super nice and polite but seemed to be on his own and very busy. Food was very good
I made a reservation for a group of coworkers at 8:15. When we showed up, the restaurant was over half empty, yet they didn't have a table ready for us. It took them until 8:45 to finally seat us. The hostess ignored us and barely looked up from her tablet.
Our server was very nice, but new, and he messed up several of our drink and food orders. He did correct them.
It took over two hours to get our drinks, food and bills. It was a very long dinner.
Were seated right away, earlier than our reservation. Loud, crowded and waiters were overloaded. Food came out wrong the first time and when it finally came out right, it just wasn't good at all. Bill was wrong and we were overcharged. Waiters seemed to be doing their best but the kitchen just isn't up to par. I'd only go for drinks but it's not a place we will ever go to again.
I ordered the jambalaya and the chicken/sausage was over cooked. Didn't taste like jambalaya either, it was like they just dumped a Cajun sauce on it and that was all. I could have made it much better myself at home. I went here several years ago and had great lobster tacos. Where did all the sea food on the menu go? Also, it was very loud. All the TVs were obnoxious. Service was friendly though. Gave us samples of beer just because.
I always enjoy coming over there now and then for a delicious lunch or dinner and it never disappoints.
Fun place, good food, dependable neighborhood spot.
Good value. A great place to meet befor going to the La Jolla Play House.
Place was LOUD and wouldn't recommend if you want to have conversation during your meal. Service was just like most of the reviews stated: poor. Beer selection is very good. Food is meh.
Beer is clearly their reason for being. Since we don't drink, it was just an okay dining experience. Good food but nothing to rave about.
Overall good venue, but service was marginal... had a group of 14 and clearly the bar staff and table staff don't share tips because we we constantly hounded about closing our bar tab... and it didn't help that our table wasn't ready at our reserved time. I've had better experiences at a Rock Bottom Brewery in the past. This was pretty disappointing. I don't expect to recommend this venue again for a larger group of friends to get together.
Great food, good service. I would definitely go back again if in San Diego.
Great food, drinks and excellent service. They brew their own beer.
