Rock Bottom Brewery Restaurant - Denver Ratings and Reviews
I as very impressed with the reservation we made, we were running late and they saved our table and quickly sat us once we got there. This was a busy night and they easily could have given our table away. However, they called us to confirm we were coming, great job to all if your staff!
Arriving, with a reservation obviously, prior to a wave of people coming in when a holiday parade ended, we were sat in order at the door. Walk-ins were accepted ahead so the purpose of a reservation was somewhat lost. At least then. But then we sat, about 10 minutes. Ordering off the extremely limited menu compared to past visits, food was slow now with crowds in and apparently served ahead of us. In fact, so slow I had a chance to go out, walk 3 blocks to put money in the meter (road to garage which they validate was blocked by the parade earlier), pass through the restaurant and go to a bank ATM in the office complex and return to the table and still wait for my simple chicken entree. The beer is great but not sure what Craftworks is up to with this division. Future times: go to the nearby Chop House or Old Chicago locations if I want something more than a beer. Too bad, this was the very first Rock Bottom in the US (the name is derived from the former Prudential name on the office tower...a piece of the rock at the bottom of the building.).
Made reservation thru Open Table about an hour before we arrived. When checking in they were rude and told us that since we had made the reservation so close to the time that it wasn’t valid and they would not honor it even though I had a confirmation number and email showing the reservation. Very poor attitude and service. Please honor reservations or don’t show them as available on Open Table.
Overall, was not impressed. This is the second time I have been to this location before going to the theater. The food is marginal. The nachos are over cooked. The "grilled chicken" is shredded chicken left over from the day before. Ordered dressing on the side and the salad was drenched With it. That, plus the wilted lettuce made dinner pretty inedible. I think as a whole the food quality at Rock Bottom has definitely declined from what it once was.
The front desk got totally mixed up about my reservation. As a result, my friend waited 10 minutes at an inside table, because they had seated her and cancelled my reservation, just moments before I arrived. Finally, I called her, and she came outside to sit with me. That being said, our server was great, and my burger was perfectly fine. My friend liked her sandwich and onion rings, too.
The meals are much more pricey than I remember, and although they are good, they are nothing special.
Used Open Table on a busy Friday night for our pre theatre Frozen dinner to make reservation at Rock Bottom. We were seated almost immediately with 2 adults and 3 kids. I let our server know we were there for our pre-Frozen dinner. She did a fantastic job, from getting my beer to serving the kids meals. Lastly, a very prompt check, and we were on our way. Well deserved gratuity!
We come here on and off. I was unable to make my review on the reservation the corresponds to the visit however I will do it here on a prior visit. We made a last minute reservation as we walked over from our building which is very close for 'now' and there were reservations avaible all night on open table. When we arrived there was a wait. Instead of honoring the reservation they wanted to add us to the 30 plus minute waitlist. Explanation was that they did not have the seating available. If this is the case they should not be accepting reservations when they don't have the seating. Beware.
Do not go there!
They have these little computer gadgets on your table that kids can "play" with that end up costing you $$$ unbeknownst to you!!! They do not require "approval" from an adult, they just let kids play with the device and BAM you are hit with a bill for it at the end of the night.
There oughta be a law prohibiting this - they should require CONSENT for this. Otherwise someone who has no idea about what this device does (me!) gets screwed big time!
A very pleasant dining experience! Great food! However, I was a little disappointed; I let the restaurant know we were celebrating my husband's birthday, I was told they'd do it up right. Well, no Happy Birthday, no comp deserts, no nothing. We had a great time nonetheless!
It's a great place for a drink, but if you're looking to have a substantial dinner… I might consider somewhere else. Brittany the bartender was great, and made spot on recommendations. It was definitely more of a college crowd/tourist crowd. I usually like to pursue a more local feel, but I was not disappointed with what we experienced.
I've been going to The Rock Bottom Denver before shows and concerts for many years. It has almost always been a pleasure with the service friendly and food good. Our last visit was excellent. Our server, Michael, was extremely friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the experience a great deal.
Terrible service!! Our server took forever to bring our drinks, he forgot what we had ordered when we asked what was taking so long, then split our check incorrectly and never returned to the table to follow up. We were in town on vacation and wish we'd gone elsewhere for dinner.
The tablets at the table are a complete fail. We pushed the button for service (our card would not read) and it took ages for our waitress to return. Several other employees zoomed past (eyes sliding to the flashing red light and away quickly); ignored our pleas for help.
When the waitress finally came back she apologized and said, "I thought these things were working."
