Rock Bottom Brewery Restaurant - Cincinnati Ratings and Reviews
One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We were seated right away, server was friendly but took a while to get to us. Ordered drinks and appetizers, took about 20-30 minutes to get an order of fried pickles. Pickles were delicious but everything went down hill from there. We each ordered steaks, medium. Steaks took about an hour to show up after we ordered and they were both pretty much raw. Manager came over and we sent them back... steaks returned about 20 minutes later and were still raw and mashed potatoes were completely cold. Ended up sending everything back and leaving. They claimed it was because they were “so busy” even though there were plenty of empty tables on a Saturday night. Won’t be returning.
A couple friends and I had dinner at Rock Bottom on a Saturday night. We were seated near a window so it was fun to people watch. Their beer selection was decent and we enjoyed their local brews. Our waiter, McCoy, was fantastic. He was personable with us, provided recommendations and checked in at the right time.
The service was horrible. We waited forever for a waiter and then only a stop by to say I'll be with you in a minute. Then waited again a long time to place our order. The waiter had greasy hair was very unkempt and seemed to be high. I never got the guacamole and chips that were ordered and never got refills on drinks. Very disappointing.
Food was not good. Service was very slow. Felt like no one cared we were there. No manager stopped to see how we were, but kept waking past us. Was served the wrong drink, burger was dry, asked for bacon on it and didn't get it. For what we paid for it was NOT worth it! Very disappointed.
Rock Bottom Brewery has always been one of my favorites for the Shrimp Lobster Tacos.
I was so disappointed Wednesday night when we got there and I noticed the menu looked different and I couldn't find my favorite thing anymore. I immediately asked the server and she said it was discontinued. BIG BUMMER!!! One of the other ladies i go with also loves the Shrimp Lobster tacos.
I am not sure that will be our Go To place before the theater anymore.
The service was great! We sat outside which was nice but there was of course some interesting people milling about that I maybe could have done without. We had the jalapeño pretzel sticks which were seriously amazing - would definitely recommend. The burgers were good, not great, but the fries were tasty. The only other thing to note was the bathroom was pretty gross. Everything was broken and nothing was clean.
The ultimate nachos had chicken on it that was dried out and petrified. Guac was brown :( very disappointing. Wait staff never came back to check on us and we had to flag down someone to let them know our food was bad. It took almost 40 minutes to see a manager to resolve it and he admitted the food was bad. Beer flight only had one beer my husband liked. Not the experience we were hoping for. Management took the nachos off the bill and asked us to come back another time and try again as the nachos are a house specialty.
The food was very good, I would even say it's worth coming back for. The service on the other hand was AWFUL. We waited almost 20 minutes for our server to greet our table and when she did she rushed us for both our Drink and Food orders at the same time, keep in mind that it was the first time all 10 of us had ever been there. She took a very long time to get our drinks and our food took what seemed like forever. We had to track her down for our checks and then again to cash them out. We had reservations at 7:30pm and by the time we got our food ate and cashed out we didn't leave until after 10:30pm. She constantly addressed me personally, as well as others in our group, by "love", "doll", "sweetie" and other inappropriate names. She was had very little interaction with us, and had we been with a better server I believe our experience would have been much more enjoyable. We were there celebrating a special event.
The server was doing her best but had way too many tables to take care of for a Saturday night. She apologized and thanked us for our patience. We got our drinks and appetizer in a timely manner. Then we waited to order. She was able to finally get to us. My wife ordered the Santa Fe chicken salad for dinner and the chicken on the salad wasn't thoroughly cooked when it arrived at the table. Our server was apologetic and brought her Egg Rolls (her second choice due to being unable to eat the salad) immediately. I was surprised that they didn't comp a drink or offer to comp the meal. No manager came to the table to apologize, which given they served uncooked chicken I would have thought they would have done. I have gone here several times and this was my worst experience by far.
Service was fair at first, but check took awhile with mistakes on first try. Manager had to help out since we had theater tickets, started with ample time until waiting on corrected checks. Enjoy the food and location, but service was lacking. Waitress claimed short staffed which should never be the excuse given to patrons, but I would still give them another chance as this was my first bad experience at the restaurant. Great location on Fountain Square.
I had the Makers Mark burger and it was really good! Everyone at the table had something different and we were all happy with our choices. The one downside was that they were out of mac n cheese. One person ordered as her entree and two of us as a side. Not sure why management wouldn't remedy this issue, it doesn't take too long to make.
Good beer choices. Large portions. The bar area has a number of TV's tuned to sporting events, the dining area doesn't. Keep it in mind if you come in to watch a game. I ordered the fish and chips and I thought it was good. I have to say the menu choices tend to run toward the spicy side. The sauce for the fish had a kick to it as did the fish. Overall our group of 4 enjoyed their food and beer and our service was good.
We had concert tickets at US Bank Arena, but really enjoy Rock Bottom, so we made the (approx.) 1 mile trek up to Fountain Square. It is not a bad walk at all...we were surprised how crowded it was at 6:00 - but there was also a Reds game that night. We enjoyed our beers although service was slower than usual - probably due to the crowd. My husband enjoys the fried egg burger and I had a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado. I really like that you can get a cup of soup instead of fries...They do not turn down my high maintenance requests.
Food (especially vegetarian), location, price & beer list are always fantastic! The only downside was that our poor waitress had the front left side of the patio all to herself (it was about 12 tables all packed) and she was so busy that she was constantly forgetting anything we asked for. Waited for 30 minutes to get our drinks every time we ordered one. And when we finally got our bill (4 separate checks) they were all wrong and mixed up, but it was either pay the extra money and not correct her, or wait 30 minutes to get the checks corrected. Should have only been an hour and a half dinner ended up staying over 2 & a half hours. The food and the location are so great though that we will still be going back. My only advice would be that management should have had a minimum of 2 more people helping her out. She was very sweet and apologetic and she definitely earned her generous tips that night.
We were going to be late for our reservation so we called. We were seated right away when we got there. It took a long time to get our food. We arrived at 6 ordered shortly after. We got our food at 7:15. We only had a few minutes to eat it before we had to leave for a show.
The atmosphere is cozy but could use a little facelift. The hostess walked us to our table, inside when I request outside, placed the menus down and walked away without a word. I ordered the side of cheddar mash which was extremely dry. My chicken was fantastic, but without a good side left not fully satisfied.
