Server spilled my drink all over table said “oh sorry” then walked away. I thought to get a rag, I was wrong. She never came back. 20 minutes later I had to grab her as she helped the table next to us. I ask for another drink and a rag to wipe the table. Terrible server!!!
Food is always spectacular! Our waitress was fantastic. We never went without anything. Even if we didn't make the reservation, I watched people get seated in minutes on a busy Friday night.
We hit up this restaurant before going to see Dear Evan Hansen at the opera house. First time. Typical pub style food. Portions were minimal and didn’t look anything like the pics in the menu. For the price, expected a bit more.
Poor atmosphere, poor cleanliness in the Booth and the food was meh with adequate service. L
Our Bartender and our Waitress were pleasant and professional, job well done. The Host (a well groomed young man) was seemingly untrained and not up to the pressure of simultaneously keeping numerous balls in the air. The poor guy was confused and nearly tripping over himself. Every business owner and manager should remember that you don't get a second chance to make a first impression.
Amateur hour. Sunday afternoon- 90 degrees outside and they have “open air” windows open. Very uncomfortable and lots of flies.
Table for 5- they crammed us into a table for 4.
Asked for a different table- was told they had no servers available. Kids burger came out wrong- asked for a new one- they said the kitchen was really busy. Server was awful.
Seeking a moderately priced and casual quick bite before the show, we chose Rock Bottom for its proximity to The Wilbur Theatre. Food was good, not great. A Cobb salad and a French Dip sandwich, followed by a shared slice of cheesecake.
Although outdoor seating is available, we chose to dine indoors because of the heat and humidity that day (90’s in late afternoon.). Once seated we discovered the 15-foot wide sliding doors to the outdoor patio were left open, bringing all the heat and noise of the city indoors. Blaring sirens from the frequent emergency vehicles driving by made conversation difficult. Although not sweltering, the heat in the dining room was unexpected and certainly didn’t enhance our experience.
I might return, but only during a season I could be assured of an enclosed, climate-controlled dining room.
The waitress was ignoring us. They forgot our drinks then they said they had to re-order them but it was too late we had tickets to the game then the drinks came anyway because They have found the order
Food was just average, place is dirty, service was slow and with oversights. Part of our order came after we were done.
Great service and good food!!
Great for pre-theater meal nothing fancy but good and well priced
We arrived a bit early but were seated right away. Our server was friendly and prompt. We had some drinks off the cocktail menu, I enjoyed the donkey kick. The guacamole and chips were good, kinda skimpy with the guacamole though. Grilled bajan chx sandwich was really good, cilantro lime rice as well. Wife had chx street tacos, she said they were good.
88° day and it was cooler outside than it was inside this restaurant.
The 2am burger is fantastic but requires a hearty appetite. It’s a fun place with excellent beer.
From what we were told, the air conditioning had been inoperable for a week. Eight of us were there at 5:30 on a Saturday with temps in the 80's. It got pretty warm inside even with the ceiling fans. The wait staff were very nice. Good service. Cocktails were good. Food is just ok. Great selection of draft beer.
Always a great experience! Love the food and the selection. Try something new every time.
The waitress I had was awful. She didn't know shrimp was on their menu and I watched a group next to me not even eat their food because it was wrong.
Then while waiting for the check, the couple behind us left. The waitress accused myself and my wife of stealing the check. When I said I wanted to see the camera she replied "so do I"
Management tried to make up for it, but by then I was late for my show, and was too late for apologies.
Went to Rock Bottom in Boston for a theater show - reservations were quick, they have outside seating, service was pleasant & fast (we got our dinner in less than 10 minutes after ordering) wait staff and host staff were both accommodating & friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Theater District Boston, MA.
Food was just ok. Service was terrible. Had to ask for water. And then cutlery. One older child ordered off the adults menu and received their sprite in a kids cartoon dinosaur sippy cup. Kids ordered make your own sundaes, menu says two scoops of ice cream, only received one. No cutlery for dessert. Had to ask again and received a knife and fork for ice cream! Had to ask again for a spoon. All and all, service one of the worst I’ve had in a restaurant. No one asked if we wanted more drinks. No water offered. Would not go back.
Had the Summer Strawberry Salmon salad which I would highly recommend.
I always go here before shows I attend at the nearby theater. Love the food, drinks and service!
Nice group lunch at Rock Bottom. We sat outside and had lunch and drinks for a very reasonable price. Service was great too!
We like the food. We like the server. We do NOT like being rushed. That said, it would have been nice to have the salad / soup course before the entree. It felt too much like being at the hog trough. Too rushed.
Great location from the Wilbur Theater. Service was excellent, food was very good, lots of good options and the carrot cake was so big, enough for 3. Prices are very reasonable.
Food was great!! Perfect place to grab a bite before going to a show!! We're definitely coming back here again.
I would recommend it basically due to affordability. However, members of my party asked for very reasonable changes to their meals (items they didn’t like), and they were completely ignored. We had to ask several times for a soda we had asked for right away, for silverware, for napkins. The food quality was good, but it was frustrating to have to get it exactly as described when you ask for something simple like ‘no guacamole’ or ‘mayonnaise on the side’.
We had visited the Downton Abbey exhibit in downtown Boston and had chosen Rock Bottom as a reasonably priced lunch venue. We were very pleased with our experience. Our wait staff was friendly, one was training another but they worked seamlessly. We had a laugh as my husband could not make up his mind with the great selection of draft beers. Our meal was Waldorf Chicken Salad and French Dip sandwich. Both were delicious, and the fries were just right - HOT HOT HOT when they came to the table. Many meals in restaurants are great, but I give the best reviews to the fries!
Only complaint, and it’s just as much my fault for not noticing, is that we were given 2 menus: one lunch and dinner and one for spirits. We each ordered off those menus. Only after our waitress had taken our order did I notice a seasonal menu between the S&P and ketchup bottles on the table. All three in our party saw choices we would have preferred to order but it was too late. I wish she had pointed out that seasonal menu available for alternate choices.
Took my sis-in-law here for her graduation!... reasonably priced and extensive menu
Server was horrible, and generally the service is good, especially bar service. Forgot drinks and when I reminder her, seemed annoyed. Instead of asking if we wanted anything further, such as a drink, she would bring us the check. Each time we handed the check back and said we'd like xyz. She never checked on us. I guess she wanted us to leave?? Even asked to double check if I filled out my receipt to which she said it was fine. Update: Oh and just found I was overcharged or someone took the liberty to add 2 bucks to my bill.
Awful food and awful service. Would never go back!
Just a good dinner before the Nathan Carter show.
The food was great and service quick. Only complaint would be it was way too cold to be comfortable inside and we rushed to be done sooner because of it.
We came early in the day before attending the Ballet at the Opera House. We both got salads and beer, both delicious, our server was very attentive. It was quiet and peaceful at the time of day we were there. Would definitely visit again!
Quality of food is excellent, and the value is also outstanding.
Hi Dan, Thank you for the 5-star review! We hope you'll come back and visit us soon.

We showed a little early for reservation and were seated right away! Service was excellent and food was delicious
Hi Jen, Thank you for the great review! We hope you'll come back to visit soon.
We had EXCELLENT waitstaff! We arrived very early because we needed an app and a drink (or 2...) and they were super accommodating! Our waitress was great, pretzels were awesome! We all swear the dip tasted like lobster (shellfish allergy here!) but they assured us there was none (doesn't say vegetarian on the bar happy hour menu but apparently has that info on the regular menu, which we did not see). We had a big group and our next waitress was super awesome, great energy, could read us like a book! Nice to be in a booth where we could all chat rather than a large long table for 8. The restaurant wasn't loud like many places in Boston seemed to be that weekend. I had the Margherita pizza and the crust was greasy which made it hard but I just ate around that. Wasn't great but didn't bother me because I couldn't eat the whole thing and couldn't take leftovers with us. Garlic mashed potatoes were SO good!! Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals and the beer was tasty. Thanks for such a great time!
Hello, Thank you for the great review! We hope you come back to visit us soon.
We went for lunch and it took nearly an hour for our food to come out. During that time the wait staff did not come to the table at all to check on drinks or to give us an update. When the food did come out, they said, sorry we are really busy but the restaurant was not nearly close to being full. We were in the bar area and on our side of the bar there we were the only table. The food is decent and the beer selection is good but the service is horrendous.
Hi Mike, We are so sorry about this experience you had. We would love to get more information about your visit and fix it on our end. Please reach out and ask to speak to someone on the management team.
