Rock Bottom Brewery Restaurant - Boston Ratings and Reviews
I would not order the pizza. It was a flat, dried out frozen pizza. The made-to-order guacamole was obviously from a package and the chips were stale. On a very slow night we waited over 20 minutes before a server ever came to our table, and that was only after we complained to the hostess. I never slam restaurants but this was one of the worst meals my wife and I have ever had.
The kind of food you'd expect at a big chain brewpub. The nachos are great and come in a very generous serving. The 4AM burger is a great choice for someone looking to fill up before catching a show, considering it's location in the theater district. Beer is pretty good. You get your staples (IPA, brown ale, pilsner, etc.) with 3-4 "Brewer's Choice, which are typically more adventurous. Overall, good food and beer at a great price in the Theater district. I was a bit disappointed as the fish and chips, which I ordered, was mostly batter. They also only served a bit spicy thousand island type sauce to dip your fish instead of tartar sauce. My daughter ordered the chefs salad with chicken which she said was good.
I suggest you stick with the burgers.
Our waitress was very pleasant however, once our food was delivered, she disappeared. She was no where to be found and we had to ask another person to refill our glasses and if they had a dessert menu. She should up when we were through and waiting for our check.
We were outside in poor weather, which definitely wasn't ideal, but the overall experience was great. We were going to a show at one of the theaters and were running late. The waiter was fantastic and the food came out so quickly even though the restaurant was packed. It was very impressive, and the food tasted great!
Quality, yummy food at a decent price especially in Boston. The drinks were good as well and the location was very convenient to the citi performing arts center. It was a nice atmosphere with both families and bar goers but, it was not too loud. There was nice outdoor seating which unfortunately we were not allowed to sit at with out reservation which was a bit disappointing. Also, the service was good but a bit slow despite there being many empty tables in our section. Overall it was a great experience.
Despite having a reservation and arriving early, we had to wait 20+ minutes past our reservation time to be seated. We picked the restaurant as it was close to theater and expected to be casual. The service was good but the staff at the host stand was unfriendly and not very helpful. It was very noisy even though we were in the back corner. Food was fine, would classify as above fast food. Would probably try one of the other restaurants in that block before going back.
Our group of 10 people ranged in age from 6 to 75 years old and culinary tastes from healthy California to eating only burgers and fries. The menu had something for everyone. The food was tasty, but don't expect a lot of french fries. The fries that came with the burgers were thick-cut, crispy outside and tender inside, but there were only 9 or 10 or ten of them. It was probably the right portion for health reasons, but in this age of excess it just seemed lacking compared to what you get in other restaurants. When I ordered my salad, I forgot to ask for the dressing on the side (usually I find that the kitchen puts too much dressing on), but my salad came out perfectly dressed and delicious.
We were given seats on a counter-height table. It was fine for us and made our lunch seem more festive somehow. If you don't like sitting up higher, however, be sure you specify that you'd like a normal height table. Service was good. Our party arrived in waves but we were seated upon arrival and served as needed.
The food and drinks were awesome. You walk in and it looks a little upscale but the prices were more than reasonable. The only issue was our waitress was pretty awful. We didn't get forks until after the food got there and she took forever getting our checks.
My friends and I came to town to attend a Robin Trower concert ath the Wilbur Theater. The plan was to eat before the concert and we decided on the Rock Bottom because it was on the way to the concert and the name was cool. We had reservations for 5:30pm. We arrived about 10 minutes early but by the time they seated us it was before our scheduled reservation. We were able to see the Wilbur Theater from where we were sitting. Our waiter was a helpful, and friendly. The food was very tasty, the portions were very generous and the prices were reasonable. They brew their own beer, which was very good. If you have a chance to eat here I strongly encourage you to do it.
Booked through open table and was seated immediately, with a smile. Our waiter was fantastic. So friendly but not intrusive. We both had salads. Mine was Santa Fe and was one of the most delicious salads I've had. They even treated my daughter to a birthday dessert. Great!
I have been here multiple times and enjoy it. Very casual and fun environment. Food is good. Today I had the fish tacos for the first time. It was good, but I was disappointed that there was not a lot of fish in them. My daughter and sister both had burgers and were very pleased with them.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hostess was very nice and our server (David) was very nice as well. Our table was so wiggly and he was so accommodating and fixed it for us. He was so busy and seemed like they may have been short staffed this night, but he was so nice and took care of us in a professional and friendly manner.
The name of the place should be "Top of the List", not Rock Bottom! Went there with a group of teens for a birthday dinner before a show. Staff was so nice, our waiter got the whole dining room crowd to sing Happy Birthday. Food was fresh, delicious, and quick but not rushed. Waiters were very attentive and worked well together. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!
I made a 5:45 reservation (had tickets to a show at 7pm). Arrived at exactly 5:45 and was told I had to wait while other people were sat. Was seated about 10 minutes later and waiter arrived to the table about 5 minutes after that. We ordered drinks which took a little longer than expected to arrive and then ordered dinner. Waiter returned to the table at 6:30 and stated my item has been sitting under the warmer "forever" but my friend's meal was not up. Turns out the chefs weren't even making her entree that night but no one communicated that so he asked her to order something else. In the interest of time she ordered a salad and I asked for the check to be delivered with the food. Our food arrived to the table at 6:45 (without the check, that came later). We had 10 minutes to eat as much of our meal as possible and pay so that we could literally run across the street to make our show. Nothing was taken off the bill or discounted. Food itself was fine when it arrived. Overall a disappointing experience.
We had dinner before heading to see a show. We order shortly after sitting down, it too 45 mins to get our food, just a couple apps! Then I order another beer it didn't show up until we were about to leave. Service was horrible. Food was just alright nothing to rave about. I wouldn't go back.
We had a reservation for four for dinner and drinks. We were seated right away but every time we placed a drink order there was a lengthy wait. On our last order they completely forgot my wife's drink and when they finally brought it it was wrong. It took an additional 10 minutes to track down our server to have it removed from our bill. There are better options in the area, we won't return here.
Started off with a great dinner and good service. Suddenly things took a turn for the worst. I couldn't pay the bill. The systems crashed and I wanted to pay with cash but they wouldn't take it until the the systems could come back up. Whats worse is no one told us the system had crashed so the servers all just disappeared. After the server finally came back with the check, he turned rude and told us how it was handled when that is not what happened. It was a terrible way to end a good night.
Great food at a great value for overpriced Boston. Nice large booths to fit our family of 6 with room for a couple more. Awesome service! Rock Bottom IPA was very good also. Loved the atmosphere with classic rock tunes playing and lots of sports on many TVs. Everybody in our party enjoyed their meal and visit to Rock Bottom Brewery after an awesome Blue Man Group show at the Charles Playhouse!
We had reservations for 5:45. We arrived after 6 and was told it would be an hour wait. Within 30 minutes we were seated, our food arrived hot & was delish. This was our first time at Rock Bottom. It was recommended by a friend. Looking forward to going back!
We received kids menus which had activities on them. We asked if we had crayons and the waitress looked at us like we had three heads. She said she would ask and then never addressed it again. She didn't check on us very much, and her counterpart took better care of us. The rest of the staff was excellent, though, so I consider this an individual issue.
The Arnold Palmer was just lemon tasting. The Raspberry Iced Tea was served warm. The burger still had 1/3 of the paper on it from freezer to grill. The Baja Chicken was burnt had too much salt on one half. We had a window seat to the kitchen and I could see and watch how long the onion rings sat before served and when tasted the onion rings were cold and hard.
