Rock Bottom Brewery Restaurant - Boston Ratings and Reviews
WORST SERVICE EVER. My husband and I waited over 30 min for our bar drinks while others were being served. A party of 6 that sat after us had their food well before ours came (reservation for 3 was my party). My son ordered "butter noodles" and they came with no butter. Food was.... eh.. I've had much better at the 99. The only plus was that the manager comped almost the entire bill.
Extremely loud place. Had a reservation still had to wait. Ask how long it would be after 15 min was told they had already called for me. Was sitting 3 feet from them waiting. We both ordered apps and dinner. After a very long wait was given both our soup/salad and our dinners at same time. Tables are so close together you can barely squeeze through to get to the other seat. Soup was good but taco were not great. If you did want to watch football the tvs are only in one direction so one person has their back to them. Have to strain your neck to turn and see them. Had to learn forward to talk it was so loud. No privacy with people a foot away on both sides. Will not be back. Better places to eat in Boston.
Go here every time in town and sometimes more than once a day. Went in for Black Friday $1 draft beers after getting email and was told "we don't have those. It's against the law in MA to sell alcohol on holidays." Thanksgiving was the day before when stores can't sell it but restaurants can as we consumed wine at our Thanksgiving dinner. Was very disappointed in what were told after getting email about special. Plus the chair my daughter was sitting in broke and she nearly hit her heard on a brick wall that our table was next to. They took care of the bill with what happened to my daughter so that made up for not getting our $1 draft beers but seriously considering now not to go here anymore while in Boston.
We were late due to crazy traffic but we were seated at a booth for 6 fairly quickly. There was a wait but they do have booths made to seat large parties so that made it easier. It was crowded and noisy- but more of a buzz - not obnoxious. TV's around the bar face out to the crowd so you can watch a game if you want. Teenagers really liked the mac and cheese. We stuck to pretty standard fare - next time I think I would venture out and try a steak or salmon dish. I saw other tables with the bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers ...I want to try those next time! This location very convenient to hotel we were staying and theater district.
Wasn't bad but I probably wouldn't return. Lobster and shrimp enchiladas were not like traditional enchiladas. They were not finished off baked in the sauce but were served dry with the sauce on the side. Very unusual for enchiladas. It was more like a rolled up taco. Again, not bad but definitely not a traditional enchilada.
I ate here a couple of weeks ago and had a GREAT experience start to finish. This time not so much. The hostess was disinterested bordering on rude. The noise level was very high and when I requested a booth or a table that didn’t have high chairs I was told there weren’t any without really checking. The food was fine but not as good as the first time. Disappointing experience. Not sure if I’ll go back.
The food was really good! It is not a fine dining place but they do have gourmet food (not bar food). There were a lot of tvs to watch the game which was nice. It has a lot of windows and patio space. Sadly it was raining when we went but the inside is nice too! The service was quick and the waiter was very nice.
Service was great and they gave decent wine pours, but the food was terrible. I ordered the smoked chicken tacos which were totally dry and flavorless, and came with hardly any of the toppings listed on the menu. There was like 2 drops of sauce so I actually had to put ketchup on them. They were completely disgusting. Maybe I would come back for a beer, but I'm not itching to return.
Upon arriving at 658 for a 645 reservation we wrre told our table wass given away because we were more than 15 minutes late. So they definitely have math problems. We were late thats fine, I get it but don't make stuff up. Service was scarce, we waited a while for our drinks, friend got a sampler but no follow up as to if she decided on a specific craft. Waitress came to table after we were served to check but did not come back until we were finished. Overall a poor experience. This was our first visit and will be our last even though the food was good. The craft beers aren't anything you can't buy in a store or a better restaraunt/brewery in say, Salem MA.
Sometimes a name says it all and if you want a "Rock Bottom" experience this is the place for you. The service was as poor , the food marginal and that is being kind.
The knowledge of the waitress of the menu was non-existent. we ordered drinks fairly quickly, though apparently they have no ginger ale but have sierra mist. Not sure how a full service bar functions without ginger ale. I ordered iced tea when it arrive it was a glass of tea no ice.
While she was there we put our order in. She indicated bring ice for tea. Ordered fried pickles, she said they do not serve them, had to point out to her the item on the menu. Next asked if onion rings were made onsite, got a yes. Ordered the "made to order" guacamole, asked to have it spicy, got a blank stare from waitress.
After taking order she disappeared for 30 minutes only returning to indicate the fried pickles were not available, no guacamole no ice. When asked were the app was we got quick response "the kitchen was busy, and poof she was gone".
Another 15 minutes then everything shows up, well except ice and utensils to eat. Onion rings were frozen. The guacamole was bland and the consistency of paste.
Now another 10 minutes still no utensils, finally go inside assuming could get utensils at the hostess station. Nope, apparently the utensil's are kept in a safe as it took another 5 minutes to get utensils as one of the staff disappeared into the back of the restaurant.
20 more minutes and the finally after finishing the meal waitress shows up with a glass of ice. We request the bill.
15 more minutes pass and no sign of waitress. Had to go inside to request the bill be sent to table so we are not late for show. another 5 minutes waitress shows up, no bill ......
