Excellent food, service, value
Fantastic meal and really warm and efficient service. Love the ambiance and the food was fantastic.
C’est magnifique ! Happy to be back at our favorite restaurant! Rochambeau has great cuisine and ambiance! Thank you to team !
bartender was nice , but service was terrible . she broke my water glass and i had to ask for another one almost ten minutes later . she also sprayed my food and drinks with her cleaning spray as she broke the bar down in the middle of our meal . food came out cold and although we requested to have our appetizers before our mains , everything came out together … bright lights came on during our dessert so we took the hint but felt very unwelcome and extremely rushed . not a good evening at all …
Everything was delicious, would definitely return!
We chose to do Thanksgiving a little different this year, and Rochambeau proved to be a great choice from the food to the service. Our meals varied from the veal to the Cod and each was impeccable.
We were there for Thanksgiving. The food was actually surprisingly good. But our server was pretty bad considering the level of restaurant- he actually seemed as if we were bothering him.
Some items on the menu were great, while escargot was underwhelming.
Absolutely made our anniversary something special and I night to remember. Amazing service and complimentary champagne! Highly recommend
It was very noisy!
The restaurant staff at the maitre’d front desk were wonderful! We initially had a party of 6, including a couple who came with a toddler, and the staff thoughtfully showed their stroller and set them up with a high chair. Then 2 additional colleagues decided to join us at the last minute, and even though the restaurant clearly had to fit in several large parties that night, the staff cheerfully moved us to a larger table so we didn’t have to squeeze everyone in uncomfortably —so kind and accommodating, such great customer service! The server was also attentive and patient and efficient, and the food was delicious… everyone was very happy with our dining experience at Rochambeau!
Excellent as always.
The food was very good. They had all the traditional French dishes (French onion soup, escargot, creme brûlée , etc) & other variations. The ambivalence/vibe was like a Parisian cafe/restaurant. The restaurant is deceptively large.
It had romantic lighting which means low lighting which caused some issues reading the menu or going up the flight of stairs to the main restaurant area.
The service was very good. It was a Saturday night so they were quite busy & still provided good service overall.
We had a great meal with friends. Our server, Jack gave us the perfect amount of attention and was able to anticipate our needs. A terrific server! Loved our spacious booth in the second floor.
The food and the service were both wonderful.
The tables are a bit too close even for non-pandemic times.
The couple next to us were having a huge fight, had the tables been further apart it would have felt less awkward.
Server spilled water all over table, took away place settings and had to be asked for replacements. Steak way over cooked and server returned with flashlight to challenge me. So much for customer is always right as if I wanted to wait and eat my entree after my friends finished their meals. Appetizers and table shares were excellent.
Good: tasty well presented food, lovely seating options, sweet girl on front of house.
Bad: inattentive and sassy waiting service. Training is desperately needed.
Brunch was awesome and very reasonably priced. Nice mimosa special with a bottle of champagne and several juices.
great location in the city, great food, nice server, and the ambiance was lovely
The hostess and management team here were some of the rudest I've experienced. A few people from our party contracted COVID and we tried to cancel the reservation for safety, given we had all been in close contact with the infected individuals and figured it was better to be safe than sorry. The restaurant told us that since we were cancelling less than 3 hours in advance, we would incur a $25 charge per person despite the fact that there were medical reasons we didn't think we should be in public. When we got to the restaurant, it was empty but they still had us wait 30 minutes for our table. We tried cancelling again at that point given the wait, but they said the $25 charge would still hold (and could give no reason why they would not seat us even though there were plenty of empty tables). I will never go here again.
Wonderful experience. Hostess was great about seating our party early, server was outstanding, and food/drink was delicious. Will return!
Our server was amazing. The food was all very good - the only reason I'm rating as 4 stars is because the sweet item we ordered for the table to share (chocolate waffle) was very dense. All the savory items were phenomenal - and next time I think we'll just order the blueberry crepes instead! We were celebrating a birthday and they really knocked it out of the park. Thank you!
Hostess took almost 10 minutes to seat us, table wasn’t wiped clean with crumbs everywhere and it took another 15 minutes for a waitress to greet us! Food was descent and ambiance was nice…
The place looks very nice but I was disappointed with the quality of the food.
Good food. Servers are very rushed to take plates away rather than offer a French etiquette
Ambiance was good and the drinks were fun, however our server was quite rude and we felt unwelcome at the restaurant.
Our reservation was for 8:30 pm, and we were seated at 9:45 pm. I have never been seated so late after my reservation. At 9:30 pm, they gave us some complimentary onion dip - which honestly was too little too late. Especially in these labor shortage times, I am very understanding of service issues while dining, but this appeared to be a circumstance of overbooking which made it very frustrating.
Bruno was amazing! Excellent service, and great brunch!
Great food, superb service, lovely ambiance! The duck was excellent.
Solid food, good service (though a bit fussy). Really too loud though; talking business was near impossible and a romantic dinner would be truly unpleasant. This is the place you go with your loud friends from out of town I guess.
Absolutely loved this restaurant! It felt chic, hip, but also had an old school Parisienne feel and I really felt like I was in Paris! I ordered the Escargot and the Steak Frites - both were simple, and perfectly executed. Food I want to eat! Solid cocktails too. Will definitely be back.
I'm a tough critic, but I was impressed! While celebrating my friend's birthday at a local spa, we were making dinner plans. A woman we met at the spa recommended Rochambeau. She hadn't eaten there but had heard good things, so we decided to take a chance. And, we are so glad that we did! The ambiance, service, and food were exceptional. We will be dining there again, even when the only thing to celebrate is a great meal with friends.
great food and fun atmosphere, will visit again when in Boston!
The room was so dark we had to use our phones to read the menu. We were not offered a wine list, just a short list of wines by the glass on a sheet of paper describing their cocktails. Both the appetizers and main dishes arrived very quickly, which is nice for the appetizers but made us feel rushed when the main dishes were delivered while we were finishing the first course. The escargot appetizer has a good traditional garlic/parsley/butter taste but the snails themselves were very chewy as if they’d spent way too much time under the heat lamp. The entrees were fine although we could not see or taste any evidence of artichokes in the spinach and artichoke ravioli. There are several good French restaurants in Boston and we had hoped this one could be added to the list.
We had a delicious and lovely brunch on Saturday morning. The service was friendly but professional and the food was heat. I strongly recommend the avocado toast with fried egg and the grapefruit mimosa. Great way to start the weekend! And my son loved the duck hash.
Bruno made our day! I don’t think we’ve ever had such great service at a restaurant. At least four people came to our table to make sure we were happy. Our server, Bruno, was incredibly kind, honest, funny, but not overbearing. The food was phenomenal, but we will be back to hang out with Bruno!
We were sat for our reservation over 20 minutes after the reservation time. They were clearly understaffed and overwhelmed. My cocktail came after our food arrived, but the food was very good.
Côte de Beouf for 2 served in a cast iron pan with asparagus, mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and popovers can’t be beat!
Ordered steak frites and it was good. Nothing extraordinary. The creme brûlée was on a graham cracker that made the whole thing seem store-bought. Also, it was not warm. Waitress was very nice. The wine was NOT good. Their French wines by the glass were sweet even when they said they were dry. I tried two different types and did not like. They need better selection. Should not be selling these sweet wines
This place is phenomenal!! The drinks are artisan but the vibe is down-to-earth. And the food is divine!
