RoccoVino's - Carol Stream
Great food and service! Staff are friendly and personable.
We have dined here 3 times and it’s becoming a new favorite
Delicious, service was excellent
Love going to this restaurants. Everything I have ever ordered has been fantastic. My favorite is the Gnocchi...so so good.
I made a Mother’s Day reservation for a special brunch RoccoVino’s was having on the OpenTable app. There were only a few slots left so I was excited to secure one last minute when I learned that I’d be traveling to see my mom for Mother’s Day. Upon arrival, the hostess asked if my reservation was made via OpenTable and proceeded to get the manager. The manager explained to me, and several other people who had also made reservations on OpenTable, that his restaurant does not take reservations on this platform and that it was a mistake that we were able to make reservations. He did not offer any kind of consolidation and simply turned us all away…on a holiday nonetheless. It’s no excuse for restaurant owners not to “get” new technology and apps in 2021. I was blown away by his ignorance and unwillingness to empathize with the fact that he had ruined Mother’s Day for a lot of people. Clearly his restaurant does in fact take OpenTable reservations otherwise I wouldn’t be here writing a review on his restaurant. I never take time to write an establishment a bad review but I’ve worked in restaurants and this was just flat out terrible management and handling of a delicate situation. I’m hoping the owner takes the time to figure things out on his end, whatever the real reason for double booking so many people was.
It took 20 mins from the time we were sat before we asked a server to find out what the hold up was. He went to bring our server who had already passed us a few times and served couples that were seated after us. When ordering one of their specials "Ravioli passion", the server wasn't even aware of the dish and didn't realize what was on it. When the food arrived some time later, the Lazagna was Luke warm and the meat was dry (microwaved?). I had to request water because our busboy never showed again after we sat down. We requested the valentine cheese cake that was chocolate dipped, but the said they never received this. My wife was brought the wrong dessert even though we ordered from a tray. So terrible all around except for my ravioli which was ok and also a little dry.
Great food & atmosphere as always. It's become tradition to come for the steak & lobster on Valentine's Day. Only downside is the price seems to be going up each year. But it is fabulous!
They lost our reservation, but still seated us, "fitting us in". Sit us next to a window when restaurant was empty (was zero degrees outside and windy). Ate with our winter jackets on. Food was great, service little slow, but not a great first impression walking in WITH proof of our reservation.
This was our first time to Rocco Vino's but it certainly won't be our last. My BF ordered the Federalist Cab and I had my trusty Meiomi Pinot Noir. There was a special Valentine's Day menu. So, we ordered the Fig Jam and Goat Cheese bruschetta. It also had prosciutto, basil and balsamic glaze. It was delicious. The BF got the creamy tomato bisque and I had the minestrone. The minestrone was great but the tomato bisque was outstanding. BF went traditional with meat lasagna and meatball (excellent) and I had the short rib linguine. I didn't even need a knife for the meat, it was so tender. Banana cake with cream cheese frosting for dessert was something different and delicious. Our server was super friendly and helpful, the hostess was very nice and other members of the staff were great about ensuring that we were happy with our meal. It was so frigid outside, so it was pretty cold inside, too. But that's Chicago winter for you. We will definitely go back!
Service was a little slow because they got unexpected catering orders but they communicated what was going on and never made us feel we weren't important. The food was awesome , our waiter outstanding and even the bus boy was interacting with us. And yes the manager even came and spoke with us. This is the way it should be handled! We really like the ambience of this place.
So nice to find a place that was open during our current restaurant lock-down, with both good food and good service. It was very important to celebrate my friends last chemo treatment, and we had a lovely time - weren't rushed to leave and we were able to enjoy a delicious meal.
Great Food, wonderful service, great prices...highly recommend
A great time as we met friends for a Valentines dinner. The specials were especially delicious!
First time there and cold due to the door always opening but everything else was amazing; service, food, people..🖤
The staff are friendly and professional our waitress was great. It was a busy night as it was Valentine’s Day but the food was delicious and the ambience was excellent.
Overall poor rating. Waitress was not prompt, took drink order and forgot about us. After 15 minute wait had to ask for waitress to return to table. Upon return she asked if we were ready to order food. Told her we never received drink. When drinks arrived we ordered food. Then we received someone else’s order. When correct order arrived food was not hot, barely warm.
The food was very good. What a great value. Best tortellini I have had for some time. This is great Italian food in the area for a very reasonable price
Brought my daughter and service was Extremely slow not just for us but another table with kids. This makes it NOT kid friendly as it’s tough to deal with a hungry kid.
Sam is our favorite waitress! She goes beyond. Food is always fabulous!
Good service and appropriately priced
It’s a decent Italian restaurant for the area. We and several other tables were all seated around the same time so it was a little busy all at once. It seemed like there was only one server for all the tables.
The server seemed overwhelmed and made a couple comments about having a lot of tables.
My husband and I started with minestrone soup and felt it was too salty. The sauce for the chicken was salty as well. The manager offered to remake just the sauce but by the time it was ready we were ready to go. I’d probably chose a different restaurant next time.
The food was very good. We got the stuffed mushrooms, and I got the alla Vince and Minestrone soup. It was delicious. The service was very slow and we waited for about 20 minutes before someone came to our table. In her defense they only had one person working and a group of 15 came in after us. Wasn't as friendly as I thought it would be though. With that being said the food made it so I will be back again for sure.
We’ve eaten here many a time. The food is very good, especially the minestrone soup, the BEST! My husband likes the egg plant parmigiana roll up, sorry I’m not a fan. But there’s always something new to try.
First time here. Kind of a neighborhood gem. Service was excellent. People were friendly. Tables were comfortably spaced rather than on top of each other. Food was prompt and delicious. Although I live about 35-miles away, I will go here again when in the general area.
I brought my friend here for her birthday and although it was very nice.....it could have been a little better. The shrimp with linguine was good....nothing special....a lot of oil. The ambiance is okay....nothing special.
Although when I booked this restaurant on Open Table and mentioned that it was a birthday celebration, there was no acknowledgment from our server.
Excellent service! Kept checking on us without hovering!
Was there for Mother's Day dinner buffet . It was wonderful! Would definitely go back
