Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar - PGA Ratings and Reviews
Food was great ... friendly staff ... but it took a while to get the drinks and food out ... seems around the 7 / 8 pm dinner hour they are overwhelmed by the seasonal crowd at the PGA location and the cook / bar staff on duty many not enough to handle the volume ... so if you don’t mind waiting ... you’ll be fine ... and sit outside ... although they like the party scenario in their restaurant, the noise inside makes it difficult to carry on a conversation with someone sitting across a table for 4 ...
We had a table for 7 at 5:45....Food was just mediocre. Parts of The (2) Skirt Steak were very chewy because of the fat. The quesadilla did not taste right. We asked for no onions in the guacamole and the fellow put a scoop of onions in it...fortunately we were watching him make it and told him no onions so he scooped the onions out. (One man was allergic to onions)
We ordered desert but after waiting at least 20-25 minutes for the desert and nothing came, we all decided to leave.
Upon departure the manager came over to apologize and did reimburse the deserts and the guac...but everyone was disappointed.
Normally we enjoy Rocco’s very much but this time, probably because it was a Saturday, the service was very slow. Also, and this I never encountered before, my margarita was essentially all ice cubes with very little liquor. I mentioned it to the server who offered to tell the bartender but I declined due to the time. I hope it was a one—time event but if it’s now standard policy there are many alternatives to Rocco’s. The food was as good as usual but the tacos were so thin that they couldn’t hold the food without ripping.
Disappointing service and my food choice was not the best. Think it's best to stick to the basics - tacos, burritos, enchilada, etc. Also, the young waiters should be better trained - She could not open our wine bottle, she did not know how to pour a glass properly, she was distracted after serving us.
Do like the restaurant - nice decor, open and lively atmosphere, nice location and easy access, etc. Hopefully better luck next time.
Food was disappointing, tacos had little filling, were served cold. Guacamole dip was the best thing we ate with loads of chips. Uncomfortably noisy outside. Service was slow, offered a special"all you can eat tacos", but could not get a refill because of slow service and overworked staff.
Rocco’s is always a good time. The fresh guacamole is a treat that is made in front of you from a cart. The mocajetes are the best around anywhere. Their version of fajitas. It comes steaming in a volcanic bowl and has different zesty sauces depending on the version. The wine list is very limited but has a nice bar. Jamie our server was special!!
While the food and drink were good, the service was not good. The server was very inattentive and hard to find most of the time. He rang up to many drinks on our tab and did not apologize just stated he would have a manager take care of it. Had an attitude and acted like he did not want to be there.
