Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar - PGA Ratings and Reviews
If you like margaritas, get a pitcher! They are so good! If you like chile releno's, you are in for a treat! These are the best stuffed poblano peppers in the south! We love their appetizer of stuffed jalepeno's too! Best Mexican restaurant in South Florida. Love it!!
Rocco's Tacos is literally across the street from my house and I don't go often enough. They were hosting a special event so I decided to go. It was a wine glass painting party sponsored by a local business. Went with a friend and had dinner before and had a very nice meal and our server was great. My friend had never been before but she definitely would be coming back.
Glad I went. Will be going to Rocco's Tacos more. Not just for special occasions.
Terrible service. Was there for taco Tuesday, which we expected to be busier, but this was awful. Waitress was actively avoiding the table because the food was taking so long and we went 20+ minutes without seeing her on multiple occasions. Manager was less than apologetic about our 45 minute wait for tacos.
Waitress was very rude. Our drink order didn't come for over 30 minutes and we had to remind her. She blamed a new waitress. Said they were busy, which they were not too busy. Just excuses. It was my husbands first time. His chimichanga was greasy. He didn't enjoy his meal.
Everything was wonderful ! Service, food, drinks, were great. Our biggest "surprise" came when a couple was seated adjacent to us with what at first glance was a dog ( yes we were sitting outside) but it turned out to be a goat! Now, I love animals, but the goat sat on one of the dining chairs and occasionally licked the table ;(
Not sure about your pet policy but perhaps an update is due as to what is and is not permitted.
Rocco's Tacos was a delightful experience! The manager Alex was very helpful and friendly, as was our server John, who was personable and professional. The guacamole made at the table, spicy or not--your choice--was really, really good, and it came with homemade, warm corn chips! The red snapper was fantastic, the bisteca was great, and the molcajete surf and turf was amazing. We loved their Margaritas and key lime cheesecake with mango sauce, too, and can't wait to go back.
Hostess wouldn't give us an available outside table so we said we would wait. Timing of the whole new was off - entrees came out at the same time as the soup and the table-side prepared guacamole. The one drink ordered from the bar didn't come out until more than midway into the meal. Server disappeared for a long time with our change and we were just about to leave when she resurfaced. We had no problems at one of the other locations and will stick to that one. No big attraction eating at this location on PGA Blvd.
Love the décor and ambiance. Its a fun lively place for drinks and appetizers but the food was unimpressive. Guacamole & chips were good. Ceviche of the day was blah and very small for the price. Chicken al Carbon was dry. Even the local Mexican dive down the street has a great flavored marinated chicken ala plancha for 1/2 the price! Skirt steak was good but expensive. Place is overrated. I would come back for HH (tapas & drinks) but that's it.
This was our second time dining at Rocco's in 3 weeks. We went back because we loved it so much the first time around. Or second trip was truly disappointing. The service was the slowest I have ever experienced... anywhere. Sadly, I attributed this to our server, as tables around us were receiving food & drinks in a timely manner. We were also dining early (5pm) so people were just starting to come in and it wasn't overly crowded. Both the California fish tacos and chorizo tacos left much to be desired. House margaritas were very bland. The outdoor seating and chips & table-side guacamole were about the only things we enjoyed. After waiting 20 minutes for our check, we had to bring the credit card to our server ( seemed she forgot). It was an expensive bill for a disappointing dining experience.
