I would highly recommend Rocco’s to anyone. The food was outstanding, service attentive and people accommodating. I love being able to sit on the glasses in porch. This is a new favorite for us!
The ambiance was nice and food was good but service was a slow. I would say it’s a place for a special occasion and not casual dining as the food and drink were NYC prices in Newtown.
We were surprised at how good the seafood was at a steak restaurant that was very noisy and crowded on a rainy Thursday night. The salmon and halibut were exceptional with crisp outside and velvety inside. And service was friendly and competent. We plan to go again and sit outside.
Michael did a great job and so did the hostess who found us the right table patiently.
Great meal great service
Rocco's is known as a steak house, but my wife had Scallops which were the most tender she ever had, and I had Scottish Salmon which was the best I ever had. I started out with Oysters Roccofeller and they were the freshest oysters I ever had with a basil pesto sauce that was magnificent. We had reservations and were seated very promptly after leaving our car with the complimentary Valet (a nice touch). We were seated by the window overlooking the outdoor diners and it was just a perfect way to spend an early Sunday dinner. We shall be back!
Outstanding as always !
We had a great lunch on the outdoor patio! Our server Tod was very professional, knowledgeable and entertaining.
Birthday celebration. Great food, great service...very busy restaurant
Our server did a good job, but it took 60 minutes for salad to be delivered. Then it took 30 minutes from sale to entree. Steak was great, veggies were cold and the salad was mediocre.
First anniversary dinner. Meal was top-notch and service (Eric) was outstanding.
My 2 friends and I had dinner tonight. Everything was delish!!! Apps and wine was tasty. We had scallops and crab cakes. Our dinner and service was wonderful. Thank you.
One of the best steaks I have ever had! And the mushrooms were to die for! The Greek salad was a little too Spicey for me-it is loud (because it’s full, because they are so good) Overall, dinner was scrumptious and I can’t wait to go back!
Rocco’s delivered !!!! I have heard good feedback about Rocco’s for dinner and friends critiques were spot on! Excellent food, atmosphere and service!
Another great night at Rocco’s. This place is amazing and management always makes sure that guests are taken care of. Food was exceptional as always. Perfect location and ambiance.
As good as always. Such a lovely location for a relaxing lunch with friends
Staff was great and plentiful. Bar was a little slow. Sat in the corner window, great views, no traffic. Food was good, as usual. 12 oz filet cooked perfectly, Hallibut a little over done. Crab mac and cheese was oily which I don't remember from before.
Waitress kind of forgot about us for a little while we were in the back on the patio tremendous food high-quality
I made the reservation for Labor Day wkd. approx. one month ahead of time specifying that we wanted to be seated outdoor for friends visiting. When we were being seated the hostess directed us to the porch inside seating stating the outside seating was first come first serve. There was a minimum of five open tables outside no one waiting and it was not crowded even st the patio bar ? When I questioned the host she got a bit nasty and said well we can’t guarantee outside seating when using Open Table.!? We were really looking forward to sitting outside with our friends to celebrate last wkd. Of summer and enjoy a good. This was 3-4th time always sat outside no problem, even when it was much more crowded and we always use Open table. The nasty attitude of the hostess ruined our night out. Inside was warm and loud! Bad atmosphere.
An amazing meal, fantastic customer service & gorgeous atmosphere- a neighborhood gem!!
Went for the first time. Looked forward to a nice birthday dinner with the family and not a 3 hour tour.
With the Delfrisco prices I wish they had the service to go along with it
We felt like the service lacked for attention and effort
Very loud and long but tasty food
A friend and I went to Rocco's for a light dinner and wine on a weeknight, We requested outdoor seating
and were seated immediately. We enjoyed some small plate options which were nicely done(ahi tuna; watermelon salad; broccoli rabe). Our waitress was attentive and personable. Overall, a lovely experience.
Good food, good service and good ambience. Fills a needed niche for a quality restaurant in Newtown, PA
We had a lovely dinner for my birthday at Rocco's this week. I was surprised by how crowded it was on a Tuesday night. Our server was very attentive and the sommelier recommended a very nice bottle of wine. I had the brick chicken but asked to substitute the normal pairing for the seasonal corn risotto and it was delicious.
We needed to have a good meal after my husbands procedure required him to fast all day. Rocco’s did the trick!
This was our first time dining at Rocco's and chose it to stay local and celebrate my husband's birthday; also, was recommended by friends. It was DREADFUL! We were seated on the small porch and the noise was so loud I had to put in earplugs! First time EVER in a restaurant and have dined all over the world. The couple sitting next to us left because of the noise. The best part of the meal was the house salad and our waiter Zorian, who did his best to be timely. However, apparently "the bar and kitchen were backed up" and took too long for drinks and food. We had the veal tenderloin special with asparagus (a few shriveled up stalks) and a side.
Generally, it was a most unpleasant experience . We didn't stay for dessert-which is a first.
We won't be back.0
A place that likens itself to a steak house similar to one in NYC should have great steak first and foremost. Mine wasn't. This was the 2nd time we were here. The first time, shortly after the restaurant had opened, I didn't get steak and was generally pleased with the food quality, although found the value to be lacking. This time, I ordered the tomahawk ribeye and was disappointed in the steak itself. It was cooked and seasoned properly, but the meat itself was not of the high quality that you might expect for a $79 steak. In fairness, the best tomahawk I've had cost more per pound. So, maybe I'm asking for too much. But I was disappointed. The raw bar has been good both times. It's very noisy, not to the point of painful but you do need to raise your voice at the table. Several patrons were very drunk, one to the point of needing help to walk out. Service is probably what you should expect from a suburban restaurant in the summer...not great.
Have eaten at Rocco's several times and it is always unpredictable. Had requested a table on the porch area due to a hearing disability (requested both on Open Table and by phone call the day before), arrived at 7:00 for reservation, told there were not tables on the porch (Dining room is VERY noisy) and had to wait until 7:40 for a table. Got drinks quickly and ordered our meals, received salads quickly and then waited an hour for entrees. Pricey for such unequal service which has happened multiple times we have eaten here. Food is very good, but will find somewhere else for the price.
So it all began with showing up at 6:58, our reservation was at 7. We weren’t seated until 7:36 as there were no 4-top tables available. Then it went into the meal, we requested bread which never showed up. The meals were placed at the wrong seats so we had to trade plates and the food was mediocre at best. We have frequented Rocco’s since they opened, though never on a Saturday night. I’m very sad to say this was a pretty rough experience and unfortunately, it was our friends’ first time there. We were forced to explain the night away with it isn’t usually this bad, so on and so forth. We left with a $338 check, which doesn’t include the first round of drinks that was $60, while we waiting for an extremely late reservation, for an experience that I would have expected to have paid $150 for at most. Very unfortunate and I’m praying the next, if there will be one, experience will be better.
Great food and great service set inside a quaint historic inn and beautiful Newtown Pa.
Fabulous food great service and great bar
Great dinner and service was outstanding but much too loud where we were seated.
Went with another couple to celebrate our friends birthday. Everything was amazing. It was very busy but we had a res and were seated right away. We had oysters that were sooo good. The calamari was good, a little salty but my husband loved it. Our steaks were cooked perfectly . Louis our waiter was awesome. Can’t wait to go back!
Rocco’s is always a great dining experience. Delicious food and wonderful cocktails with the most attentive staff.
Two steaks up🤘
Here for the first time in several years with the new ownership, shocked and pleasantly surprised by the crowd on a Thursday night! New bar outside, which was full as were the tables on the outdoor patio, and inside was the same situation in the bar and restaurant. Food and service were excellent, as a testament to how full all the seats were ... highly recommended!
I would recommend Rocco's for lunch. You get the same special ambiance, spectacular food, impeccable service for less than half the price of dinner. Rocco's has a lunch menu where you have a choice of deliciously prepared foods.
Was a nice rebound. This was my third visit and they knock it out if the park. My second visit I was unsure. Dinner..service were excellent. Mussels fra divalo were the best I have had since being up in New England .. great job.
