We had a great dinner here. The Mexican food was a little different feom chain restaurants. Nice waiters and it was lovely sitting outside with a scenic view.
Don’t waste your time or money going to this restaurant. Overpriced food of mediocre quality. Service was barely adequate. Queso was watery, quesadillas had chunks of pineapple in them which they failed to mention on the menu. We sent the queso dip back and they still left it on the bill. Definitely not going back.
Great food, great service. Definitely recommend to everyone
We had a such a great time here during our trip to NMB that we came twice during the week. Margaritas were fantastic (and huge), and the food was excellent. I had the beef rib which was massive, and perfectly tender, finished in their stone oven. My wife had the salmon on a salad, which was so good it gave me order envy. The fish tacos were light and refreshing, and all of the apps we tried were well executed. Our server Angela was a sweetheart, and spent some time putting a smile on my cranky daughters face! We will be back next time we come to NMB.
The margaritas were horrible. Has a weird taste and overall was not good. I think we took a few sips which was unfortunate. The queso dip tasted store bought. We ordered the al pastor tacos and chicken tacos. The al pastor was sub-par. Every thing was pretty bland. I wish there was more flavor and spice. The chicken tacos has absolutely no flavor. Plus they were super wet and made the taco shell soggy. Overall 2/10. Would not go back.
Food was excellent and great service we were visiting from Ohio and glad we went there for dinner
Really nice up-scale Mexican cuisine. The food was really good. Service was excellent. Thank you for a nice dinner!
The food was not good and the service definitely was lacking . So disappointing . Unfortunately unless things change, we will not be back. Such a shame because the views are amazing!
Love, love LOVE Roca Roja! This is our new go to place! Excellent food, fabulous service and everyone is always smiling. The chef has an amazing menu and the specials are always great but we totally love the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce! So yummy and a generous portion.
The servicer was good. The server suggested the most expensive items on the menu. The food was ok, nothing really exciting. There was very little flavor for mexican food. They are overpriced for the quality of food, $85.00 for lunch.
Lively and loud. Very good Mexican food and great margaritas. Pre-teens and adults alike enjoyed. Service was exceptional in spite of crowded evening. Kitchen was very good in getting the food out and hot.
Great flavors. An upscale version of Mexican food that goes beyond rice and beans and burritos. We were very pleased with our dinners. Great view on the deck. All in all a great dinner. We will definitely return when we are in town.
Visited Roca Roja for the first time. We were seated on the outdoor patio. The views were amazing. Our server Angela was great. The food was not your typical mainstream Mexican, which I loved. Everybody in our party of 6 enjoyed their meals. The salmon was amazing. The Enchiladas were so tasty and presentation was cool. Portions were large. I will be going back. They also have a great upstairs bar for a pre or post dinner drink.
Made reservation using Open Table and when arrived was seated as soon as we arrived. The food was excellent as well as the service. It is an upscale Mexican. Not your standard Mexican chain type. Suggest seating outside overlooking the marsh and Cherry Grove.
Better food than a standard mexican place! Back deck overlooks the marsh.
Austin is a horrible waiter. Seems like the place is in trouble. Watered down margaritas, 4 small pieces of ribeye for a while burrito….just bad all the way around.
Great service and food. Outside deck seating had a great view.
Overall, the experience was good. Our waiter was mediocre at best. Great food, good drinks and loved the ambiance.
The views from the back deck were awesome and the service was great. However, the food was subpar and the drinks weren’t very good either and I thought everything was overpriced and not worth it.
The drinks were excellent... but we were not a fan of the type of cheese used for the dip and the burrito. If you did not eat the cheese dip immediately, it would get extremely hard (almost like it was made with Velveeta Cheese). We would go back for the drinks... they were great!
Really slow service for waters, drinks, and most of all food. Food was okay but not great. Bar upstairs was the highlight. Wouldn’t go back.
The only disappointment was the avocado ice cream which wasn’t ice cream at all but some concoction of avocado mixed with a cream sauce: not even cold.
The food was excellent, the service was even better! Garrett was very attentive and helpful with menu selections. The steak fajitas and fish tacos were the best!
Food was wonderful
We enjoyed a Tuesday night out with friends for "Taco Tuesday". We had made a reservation and everything was ready for our group at the requested time. The decor is beautiful and definitely reminds us of Mexico. The bar is one of the most beautiful bars we have seen with lots of colorful metal tilework. Food was fabulous, especially the tacos! There are many unique and authentic dishes and beverages with a large selection of mezcals. We loved the 3 offerings of salsas that came with the tortilla chips. The elevator was a plus too as some of our friends like to avoid stairs. Will definitely return!
Very nice place service excellent. Food was amazing. Drinks wonderful
Our waiter must have been under the influence or did not understand the concept of a restaurant.
We sat outside on the terrace. Great view and atmosphere!
Service was excellent. Complimentary chips and salsas were good. We had fajitas and burrito, both good. Went upstairs to the cantina and caught Happy Hour. Good prices.
Staff and servers were very friendly and welcoming. Food was very good. Authentic Mexican dishes. Nice selection of different cocktails. Our dining table was on the open deck overlooking the marsh which was also very nice.
What a lovely restaurant with fresh, good food. The service was great too. Visiting from out of town but would go to this restaurant again.
The seafood was excellent as well as the nachos with the assortment of salsa.
Fantastic food! Elevated ingredients!
Service was on point!
Prices are high for mexican. My chicken was over cook. Wait staff very good and friendly outside dinning excellent
We have been there twice...once in April after they first opened and then again May. Drinks, salsa and quacamole...super yummy. Food in April was actually better than in May.
Had the "Flambe Prawns"...first time..nice and big..very good; second time smaller shrimp and the overall dish was a little greasy; "Beef Tampiquena"....first time very good; second time way over cooked and we sent it back, but it still came out over cooked just not as over cooked. Three of the table had the "Pork Street Taco"....all said average at best...the pork wasn't very flavorful.
I will go back and try one more time, but I'm thinking this might just be a good "snack place" versus a "dinner place".
Great new place! the service was a little off because our server was new and inexperienced, but given that all restaurants here are begging for employees it is understandable. The staff was friendly despite the confusion about having a reservation at the front desk.
The food was great and the view off of the back deck was beautiful!
Can't wait to go back!
Food and atmosphere was amazing.. Great cocktails.I would highly recommend if you want a great change from the norm.. Highly recommend the grilled octopus..
Very pleasant additive to the local restaurant scene. Very good food, fairly basic but fine decor, especially nice overlooking marsh. A little tight for staff I suspect, but didn’t impact service from Rosa who was excellent
It was one of the best true Mexican restaurants I have been to. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was great with Dalton our server. Will be back next visit!
We loved the food and Margaritas! My husband had the CALDO TLALPEÑO ("Tlalpeño" broth). It was amazing! He followed with the ENMOLADAS ("Mole" enchilada). Again, amazing! I had the fish tacos which were excellent. The chef’s tastebuds are reminiscent of Rick Bayless. We tried the Avocado ice cream with caramel sauce. It was scrumptious. Don’t miss it if you are searching for a memorable meal. Our server, April, was great!
