Amazing food! Wow! I’ve waited all summer to try this place and wish I hadn’t! Love the staff, location, ambience and especially the food!!!!!
Beautiful view outside dining, salsa for chips very small, guacamole appetizer very bland. Steak in fajitas very good. Had confusion on order but maybe no ones fault. Asked for steak and chicken fajitas and received two orders one of steak and one of chicken so too much food and too much money - just wanted one order of chicken and steak. No pitchers of beer available - only small glass and wasn’t chilled glass or mug. Waiter very friendly and efficient,
Slow service was expected so the waitress was good. We ate upstairs for Happy Hour. Should have gotten the happy hour nachos instead of the entree, there is enough to share.
Fantastic food. Great drinks. Exceptional service. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed the outdoor seating overlooking Cherry Grove Marsh. Excellent server. Had the local catch tacos (cobia) delicious. House margarita with fresh squeezed lime, queso dip has chorizo and is a generous portion. Chips were tasty and just the right thickness for dipping.
It was excellent from start to finish. Food is fresh and homemade and you can tell. Our server was fantastic and everything was very timely. Love the setting and view and the upstairs looked great for a girls night out. Will be back for sure.
The food was amazing! The wait staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely go again!
The BEST Mexican food I've ever had!! Amazing drinks and the food was not your typical cheese slide Mexican. Unique and fresh ingredients in both the drinks and the food. Staff was super nice too!!
Food could have been warmer, seemed to have been under heat lamps perhaps and couple dinners were better than others. Plentiful portions. Very nice outside patio with a view. Would go back and try again next time in town.
Atmosphere, drinks. Appetizers and live music - all good.
Food and service poor.
Was very disappointed!!! Horrible time management with reservations.. the salsa was good and cheese dip…Our meals were cold and not very tasty
So here’s the thing. This restaurant is outstanding! When it first opened, definitely there were issues… Covid related issues! We locals are missing out if we don’t support this restaurant. The food is excellent, The location is perfect what a beautiful view of the marsh, the wait staff friendly and efficient. All of our restaurants have suffered with a lack of staffing. We need to show them grace and support them. It was five of us and we all were delighted with the food and the drinks!
This was our second time eating at this restaurant. The food is always good once they get the order correct. This time the flank steak was cooked well done when ordered medium. Well done flank steak is extremely tough. The flank steak is still tough with medium but at you can eat it. We made reservations for dinner. The restaurant was empty with only one party inside. The outside porch had 5 tables occupied. The hostess needs more experience in greeting customer manager upon arrival. We had to wait 10 minutes while the hostess said the table was being cleaned. We could see a table that the other hostess was cleaning. However when we were taken to the table, we didn’t sit at the one that was being cleaned. We were seated at one of the many empty tables. Why make us wait for a table to be cleaned when it was not even the table we were going to. Overall the restaurant is okay. The management needs to work on ensuring the kitchen gets the order correct and needs to work on the hostess receiving customers better when they walk in the door.
Great place for authentic Mexican. The fundido was excellent with homemade chorizo. We had enmodoladas and camarones al mezcal- both were delicious. The wait staff was very passionate about the menu which speaks well of the chef. I am local and will be back.
The food is amazing! The view is amazing! The service was excellent The first time, and fair The second time
First visit. Was not disappointed. Server Joshua was amazing. Very informative and attentive. Complimented his chef and co-workers. Great overall experience. Would recommend. Ask for Joshua!
Nice atmosphere.....generous portions.....the fresh fish tacos and the shrimp tacos were delicious.
What had a great meal overlooking the marsh. The food was delicious and our server Josh was excellent.
Food was good. Waitor was good. Management was rude and unprofessional. Overpriced.
Reservation was at 7:30. At 8:05 we left because no server ever came to our table. The food is great…if you can get it. Very disappointed. Left and went to a different restaurant.
First time and it was nice. Good food! Will be back!
Been to Roco Roja Cantina a few times food and service are awesome
Pleasantly surprised with the authentic cuisine. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The steaks were cooked perfectly! The entrée description should note that the rice and beans are mixed together and whether condiments, such as sour cream, are topped. That was the only negative comment among our party. Other than that, they were pleased with their meal.
The food was delicious, the drinks were great and our waiter Jacob was friendly and attentive!
Great food and service. Would definitely recommend
Had a great time!
Great awesome food , understaff when we were there
Service was excellent. Basic Mexican food with a twist and nice presentation. The mole enchiladas and avocado ice cream were awesome. Got 2 meals out of the Mole.
Very under staffed. Slow
We visited Roca Roja on a Friday night. We were seated immediately on the back outside patio over looking the marsh. The place was moderately crowded but nobody was waiting. We were immediately met by our server who welcomed us and got our drink orders. The chips and salsa provided were excellent, along with the guacamole app, We had ordered tacos - Steak and Street Pork. Both were good. Overall experience was very good. Service was excellent. After eating multiple places during the week where staff and kitchens were short handed, this place was a pleasant change. Definitely would recommend for dinner or hanging out at bar.
Absolutely INCREDIBLE food and service. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and even gave us a free appetizer! The chef (Manny) came out to discuss my meal (I have a dairy allergy) and made the most delicious dairy free quesadilla I have ever had. 100000% recommend!!!!
Food was fantastic. Service was great. The three salsas brought with the chips were very different but very satisfying. Guacamole was well made and Nachos were great as an appetizer. There were six of us, order arrived for four of us after a short wait, two orders of fajitas came out very late accompanied by the general manager with an apology. They did right by us by subtracting those menu items from our bill. We did not have to ask. When management comes out to address an error by the staff, unasked, that is the mark of a great restaurant. The general manager got personally involved to correct our perception of the restaurant. This is something I admire, Will we return ? you bet. This is a great Mexican eatery with class.
Our waiter had problems related to whether or not we already ordered, forgot what drinks we ordered, but otherwise was very concerned about us enjoying our meals.
The food is so much better than standard Mexican restaurant fare. You can tell the difference right out of the gate with the three different salsas they bring out with tortilla chips. The chili rellenos was amazing. The Cadillac margarita was superb. Service was excellent.
Me, my wife, and two of my sons went here while on vacation in Myrtle beach. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice. It didn’t actually look like a restaurant from the outside, more like a a big house. We reserved outside seating but was told it wasn’t available when we got there so we just sat inside. Wanted outside and the view but didn’t feel like waiting so oh well. We were asked if we wanted tortilla chips with a few different types of salsa to start with our drinks. We said yes and the small samples of 4 different flavors was very good. We found out when we got our bill, this was quiet an expensive add on. We assumed the nachos and salsa were complimentary like other Mexican restaurants. We would of probably still got the chips and salsa but not if we knew you only got 4 little cups of salsa, not enough to finish half the chips and how expensive it was. I’m the only one who got alcohol. I got 2 top shelf margaritas that were very good. Each one was $15 and I was ok with that but they could of been a little stronger. I got some kind of chicken, beef, and vegetable dish covered in a cheese sauce that was really good. My one son got a steak. He ordered medium well. It came out medium rare/rare. I asked him if he wanted me to send it back but I guess he was hungry and to my surprise said no. It was a big steak, not a lot of fat either but too pink. He ate about half, cutting around the real pink areas. My wife got some kind of tacos, can’t remember the exact type but she ate them and said they were good. The biggest issue was my other son who got ribs. It was one big hunk on a bone. Less then half of it was meat, mostly fat. I helped him cut off as much meat as possible but he left still very hungry. I got him wendys on the way back to condo. It was our first night in Myrtle and I was tired but I regret not complaining about the ribs. Especially with the price of them. I takes a lot for me to complain but this was A LOT! Oh well, woulda coulda shoulda??
Excellent, flavorful authentic Mexican food. Great service.
Inside tables at the windows are quite tight to enter and exit. Very close to person behind you, tables are stationary, so no adjustment. Fish tacos were OK, not great, mostly cabbage. Rice and beans were what would have been available at any Mexican restaurant. Outdoor deck seating seemed nice overlooking the marsh, though it was too humid when we visited to sit out there for me. Restaurant and bar is nicely decorated. Liked that I was able to make a reservation! I prefer other local Mexican restaurants.
Authentic menu but not everything was available. Margaritas were very sweet. Great marsh views. Our waiter was very on point.
It was super good food and great service.
We loved everything about this place. The decor is cool, the view is beautiful, the service was amazing and the food came out very quickly. We loved all our meals (fish tacos, steak fajitas, cheese quesadilla for the kids).
We will def be back.
