Roc Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Roc is one of the best restaurants I've been too! The food is excellent, the wine choices are incredible, the staff and the owners make you feel like you're at their home. We have been more than a few times and now it never, ever disappoints! Worth every penny!!!😊
We felt that while the atmosphere was very nice and the location was good, that the food was overpriced for the quality. I did not see any option for wine by the glass, so the only choice was a half bottle or a full bottle which seemed to force you to get more than you wanted or nothing at all.
A very enjoyable evening on a crazy night leading up to Christmas. The restaurant was packed, the waiters were working double time but inspite of the seasonal craziness, the service was excellent and the food the same. I really enjoyed the evening and it had everything to do with how the waiters handled the busyness. Impressive. They were attentive and in good spirits. I would definitely recommemd this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food.
ROC is -simply stated- the BEST Italian restaurant in Tribeca! I'm vegetarian and ROC has many great vegetarian selections including their delicious homemade pastas. The vegetable lasagna is the best I have ever eaten. They have "something for everyone" and they will also happily make any dish you desire. Oh- and the bread sticks- the bread sticks! Don't miss them!
You will never taste better ones- they are addicting and made on the premises as well as their fabulous desserts.
Service is also top notch- the staff are all super nice and eager to please.
The "cherry on top" is the atmosphere which is just perfect- the seating is the opposite of the cramped seating that's unfortunately the norm these days in Manhattan- there isn't a bad table in the beautiful dining room. No elbows in your neighbour's food here!
And if the weather's nice there's plenty of comfortable seating outside too.
Whether you're a family or on a date (perfect lighting) don't miss ROC!
The food as always was perfectly prepared - any risotto fish is always delicious- one friend had the Tuna ala plancha special - delicious- feel that the serves when mentioning the specials should inform you of the price- don't leave it up to the customer to ask - the fried calamari zucchini app is light and flavorful - and the bolognese always delicious- nice varied wine list in choice and price point-
We were charmed by the native northern Italian server's accent and knowledge. The homemade pastas were a treat as well as the seseme crusted Salmon special served upon hummus! Everything was delicious and sitting outdoors facing the small park was a pleasure.
Food was delicious, best carbonara in my life and the brownies were really good. Service was not good. We waited for our server a long time every time when we were ready for appetizers, main dish, desert and even the check. We got the check, put the card and waiting 15 mins for them 5o come.
We had our first brunch at Roc and it was terrific. The lightest pancakes, the best maple syrup I ever tasted and Eggs Benedict, both with and without bacon (for our family vegetarian). We have always enjoyed dinner at Roc and now we have another reason to return soon.
This place used to be pretty good: good food, nice scene, uneven but well-meaning service. Now it's just awful. The food isn't good anymore; they're just phoning it in now. Plus the portion size has shrunk. So you're going to come out of there hungry. And the service has managed to get worse. They disappear when you want to order, then interrupt unnecessarily, and they now manage to be the only Italian restaurant on the planet not to bring olive oil with the bread. Even the Olive Garden gets that one right.
They've also cheaped out on what used to be the nicer atmosphere of their outdoor seating. Umbrellas and planters are gone. You're just out there on your own as pedestrians stare at you.
But they haven't gone down market. It's still pretty expensive. Wine is also overpriced.
Even if you need a low-key neighborhood place, Roc isn't worth it anymore. Go to Petrarca if you need something simple and good nearby. Or even better, go to Pepolino.
While the food was very good, the service was absolutely horrendous. So bad, that we likely won't be going back. We sat for 15 minutes before we finally had to ask for menus. We then had to ask again for water and then bread. Our appetizers took forever to come out. Not one person ever came over to our table without us having to ask. Its really unfortunate because we did enjoy the food. Bad service is always a deal breaker
Another outstanding meal and good time at Roc. The food is always superb and the staff is great (our waiter from northern Italy was a hoot, and super nice as well as helpful). I also have always liked the room and the general Tribeca vibe, being both intimate and comfortable. Will be back there again this Saturday, this time for dinner with friends.
The food and service were fine. A bit pricy but expected for the neighborhood. However we could not enjoy a mealtime conversation because of the loud club music. The music was not bad, but it was more suited for a club--not a restaurant. I would go back but not with anyone that I really wanted to have a conversation with.
The food was very good: wild boar, risotto, and octopus. The tiramisu was not that good. House wine was terrible --order a bottle instead. The background music was very loud and completely incongruous with the setting and vibe of the restaurant. Took away from the experience of the meal.
