CUT By Wolfgang Puck at FS Downtown New York
The wine list is one of the finest and most varied in New York. It has won praise from the Wine Spectator each year since ROC opened its doors. Special selections from around the world are stocked and offered daily.
Walk 2 blocks north on Hudson street and 1 block west (left) on Duane street.
ROC has annual scheduled events every year. The Halloween Party is fun for guests and staff alike. Creative costumes are encouraged. Fat Tuesday is celebrated Italian Carnavale style with a salute to New Orleans. Special menus and decorations are offered on New Years Eve, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mothers Day and other special occasions.
Sadly, the night we were there was the end of the line for this restaurant.
Always a wonderful dining experience.
Friendly service, great food and a wonderful owner.
Good luck Rocco.
We enjoyed the food. The music however was more for a club. And too. Pop. Not good dinner music. Service was good food good. Wine list ok not a lot of choices. That we recognized. But a good place for a meal
Am very enjoyable evening with attentive, no rush service. The food was outstanding.
One of the worst dining experiences in memory. A dour, uninformed waiter who grunted rather than spoke, an overpriced prix fixe menu with mediocre food, an inattentive wait staff -- overall, not the sort of romantic Valentine's Day we had hoped for.
A bit disappointed with our meal. Food was good, but not extraordinary. Wine list is ridiculously overpriced. Filled with families on a Friday evening at 7:30, which was not what we expected.
I love this restaurant, is fancy but friendly and cozy
Nice place in lower Manhattan. Stylish with descent portions, good service. Look to please the clientele .
Do not go there in the winter. You will freeze to death.
Love this restaurant, the choices, the fresh ingredients, the incredible wine options. Planning a return visit very soon.
Roc is one of the best restaurants I've been too! The food is excellent, the wine choices are incredible, the staff and the owners make you feel like you're at their home. We have been more than a few times and now it never, ever disappoints! Worth every penny!!!😊
We felt that while the atmosphere was very nice and the location was good, that the food was overpriced for the quality. I did not see any option for wine by the glass, so the only choice was a half bottle or a full bottle which seemed to force you to get more than you wanted or nothing at all.
Roc is consistently good . Wine outstanding as usual. Good vibe. Squid ink pasta with lobster awesome. Service was a little slow but we were not in a hurry. Great place to chill in TriBeCa.
A very enjoyable evening on a crazy night leading up to Christmas. The restaurant was packed, the waiters were working double time but inspite of the seasonal craziness, the service was excellent and the food the same. I really enjoyed the evening and it had everything to do with how the waiters handled the busyness. Impressive. They were attentive and in good spirits. I would definitely recommemd this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food.
Very, very noisy. Tables so close together that I had to ask someone to get up so I could pass to leave the restaurant. Hard to get waiters attention.
Fantastic dining experience. Rocco greets guests at the door. Food outstanding! Go!
A great authentic Italian place in my neighborhood that has gotten way too little attention from me—no longer, I love this place. Our dinner was out of this world good. I'll be back this week!
All fine. Food was very good, all the apps were excellent, entrees fine. service was prompt, polite, efficient, well-paced.
ROC is -simply stated- the BEST Italian restaurant in Tribeca! I'm vegetarian and ROC has many great vegetarian selections including their delicious homemade pastas. The vegetable lasagna is the best I have ever eaten. They have "something for everyone" and they will also happily make any dish you desire. Oh- and the bread sticks- the bread sticks! Don't miss them!
You will never taste better ones- they are addicting and made on the premises as well as their fabulous desserts.
Service is also top notch- the staff are all super nice and eager to please.
The "cherry on top" is the atmosphere which is just perfect- the seating is the opposite of the cramped seating that's unfortunately the norm these days in Manhattan- there isn't a bad table in the beautiful dining room. No elbows in your neighbour's food here!
And if the weather's nice there's plenty of comfortable seating outside too.
Whether you're a family or on a date (perfect lighting) don't miss ROC!
The food was good. The atmosphere was a little uncomfortable with a kids table next to us followed by a fighting couple.
Nice restaurant, nice neighborhood vibe. Love the view of the freedom tower at night! Very good food and service.
The food as always was perfectly prepared - any risotto fish is always delicious- one friend had the Tuna ala plancha special - delicious- feel that the serves when mentioning the specials should inform you of the price- don't leave it up to the customer to ask - the fried calamari zucchini app is light and flavorful - and the bolognese always delicious- nice varied wine list in choice and price point-
The food was good as was the service. The noise level from a couple of tables was so loud, we left before we ordinarily would have.
always good....truffle season coming! Like Roc as it's kinda unheralded. good food good locatuion, attentive staff.
Service was intermittent. Food was excellent as always
Best deal in Tribeca!!!
Expensive and not that great. My husbands entree came out cold and their fix was to reheat it which made it soggy. The pasta as so al dente it was like rubber bands. The drinks were not great and the waiter was very snooty.
We were charmed by the native northern Italian server's accent and knowledge. The homemade pastas were a treat as well as the seseme crusted Salmon special served upon hummus! Everything was delicious and sitting outdoors facing the small park was a pleasure.
Food was delicious, best carbonara in my life and the brownies were really good. Service was not good. We waited for our server a long time every time when we were ready for appetizers, main dish, desert and even the check. We got the check, put the card and waiting 15 mins for them 5o come.
Had a special family lunch at Roc. Couldn't have been more enjoyable. Food and Service was excellent and the Restaurant itself is very inviting. Our waiter was superb, very attentive.
Can't wait to make another visit to this fine restaurant
Aside from the average service, the restaurant was good.
The service and food are consistently excellent. This is such a great fine.
The owner very personable.
Wonderful experience. Staff terrific, food delicious. We were the only table for lunch it was quite, staff very attentive. Love this place. Will go back.
We had our first brunch at Roc and it was terrific. The lightest pancakes, the best maple syrup I ever tasted and Eggs Benedict, both with and without bacon (for our family vegetarian). We have always enjoyed dinner at Roc and now we have another reason to return soon.
Food is great but be sure to ask the price of the specials. We ordered the soft shell crabs but were shocked when we got the bill: $40! Kind of ruined the evening.
This place used to be pretty good: good food, nice scene, uneven but well-meaning service. Now it's just awful. The food isn't good anymore; they're just phoning it in now. Plus the portion size has shrunk. So you're going to come out of there hungry. And the service has managed to get worse. They disappear when you want to order, then interrupt unnecessarily, and they now manage to be the only Italian restaurant on the planet not to bring olive oil with the bread. Even the Olive Garden gets that one right.
They've also cheaped out on what used to be the nicer atmosphere of their outdoor seating. Umbrellas and planters are gone. You're just out there on your own as pedestrians stare at you.
But they haven't gone down market. It's still pretty expensive. Wine is also overpriced.
Even if you need a low-key neighborhood place, Roc isn't worth it anymore. Go to Petrarca if you need something simple and good nearby. Or even better, go to Pepolino.
While the food was very good, the service was absolutely horrendous. So bad, that we likely won't be going back. We sat for 15 minutes before we finally had to ask for menus. We then had to ask again for water and then bread. Our appetizers took forever to come out. Not one person ever came over to our table without us having to ask. Its really unfortunate because we did enjoy the food. Bad service is always a deal breaker
Nice place, food was good.
I did not appreciate we were rushed to order our food. Our waiter was removing the plates before we finished. The wait staff was very disrespectful in that sense.
Another outstanding meal and good time at Roc. The food is always superb and the staff is great (our waiter from northern Italy was a hoot, and super nice as well as helpful). I also have always liked the room and the general Tribeca vibe, being both intimate and comfortable. Will be back there again this Saturday, this time for dinner with friends.
The menu is limited and prices too high for what they offer.
The food and service were fine. A bit pricy but expected for the neighborhood. However we could not enjoy a mealtime conversation because of the loud club music. The music was not bad, but it was more suited for a club--not a restaurant. I would go back but not with anyone that I really wanted to have a conversation with.
The food was very good: wild boar, risotto, and octopus. The tiramisu was not that good. House wine was terrible --order a bottle instead. The background music was very loud and completely incongruous with the setting and vibe of the restaurant. Took away from the experience of the meal.
