Robin's Nest Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I am usually very happy with the experience I have at your establishment. My last visit on November, 18th was a very large exception to that rule. We were celebrating a birthday and two out of the four people at our table were not happy with their meals. One of these people got your filet mignon stew special. The presentation of the food has always been a plus for us at your restaurant. This stew dish came out looking very much like dog food. I was told it did not taste good either and had very little meat in it. The other dish that was passable but not up to your usual standard was the beef brisket, which was very dry around the edges. The other two people at our table had soup, salad, appetizers and steak which they stated was excellent. I feel I paid a premium price for a very very inferior meal.
Started at the bar for a drink, lovely bartender! Dinner was good, guys had the Strip Steak which is always good and gals had the Portabello & Eggplants Napoleon on pasta-nice combo and they where able to sub additional eggplant for mushroom as one of us is allergic to them.
The quality of food at Robin’s Nest is unmatched. Each meal is delicious. The service, on the other hand, is so poor that one has to wonder if anyone is managing this restaurant.
As it was a beautiful afternoon on Saturday, we elected to eat outside on their patio. Please keep in mind that when I was there, only five tables in their total outdoor area had guests. It took 30 minutes to place our order. One hour in, our soup came out at the same time as our meals. Another server dropped off our food, never asking if there was anything we needed. Ketchup and a refill on my coke would have been nice.... since our waitress was now non existent, I had to walk back into the restaurant and ask for a refill at the bar.
Dirty dishes were piled high outside at the bar area... who wants to eat amongst that? Interestingly enough, when you walk into the restaurant, there were 3 employees standing behind the dessert case chit chatting. It makes you wonder why none of them were helping the guests seated outside, or at least assisting in clearing the dirty dishes. You can easily see the staff does there own thing, and no one is taking a leadership role to ensure guests are having an exceptional experience.
The food at Robin’s Nest is exceptional, but the last two times I have visited the service has been beyond poor. Not a positive experience.
Disappointing. Not as good as I remember or was anticipating. Seating was crowded though restaurant was not full. Service was adequate, but nothing to rave about. After checking the menu online I was looking forward to the corned beef hash brunch entree. Two days later my teeth and gums were still sore from the workout! Rather than the familiar shredded corned beef, this dish featured large-diced corned beef chunks which were tough, salty and lacking in the corned beef flavor and texture I was craving. The equally large-diced potatoes and onions were far more flavorful and enjoyable. This chef's take on the traditional prep was not successful in my opinion.
More egregious -- my dining partner decided to indulge in cake for dessert. It was so dry -- perhaps from sitting out too long? -- that she was forced to send it back. The replacement peanut butter pie was much tastier and satisfying. But again, the dry cake was very disappointing at this venue known for its fresh baked goods.
I have enjoyed many meals and special events at the Robin's Nest in the past. I hope this experience was just an off day and not an indication of a decline.
Shopping at the Village Shops proved to be as good as even in the quaint town where I was born.
My 2 sisters and I went for a birthday celebration. Food was superb and service was excellent. The only glitch was that I had requested a small birthday cake which was overlooked. However, server made up for the oversight. Always a pleasure at the Robin's Nest!
We visited Robin's Nest for dinner before attending the Witches' Ball. We lucked out with a table in the front room, which afforded us an opportunity to people watch out the window and watch all the great costumes as people walked by. Our food was EXCELLENT! We all loved our choices. The only downside, and perhaps it was because we were near the host station, was that restaurant staff would have loud conversations with each other, sometimes calling out to each other from a distance, which I found to be disruptive to an otherwise perfect visit. I'll cut them some slack, though- it was a busy night with lots of traffic due to the special event outside. I have been to Robin's Nest many times and it's one of my favorite spots for lunch or dinner. The menu is really awesome, and unlike many other restaurant menus, I could pretty much order anything and be completely satisfied.
Gluten free options we selected were delicious and glass of wine very generous. We attended on the evening of the Witches Ball, so the vibe was fun and there was a lot to see! Staff was friendly and very accommodating. We sat outside and the view is relaxing and pretty. We were not rushed in any way and it was a busy night. Highly recommended!
The food was beyond amazing- I am still thinking about it. Unfortunately the service was less than desirable. My friend and I had empty drinks for over 10 minutes before anyone noticed, and it was a different server that noticed and helped. Our server's tone was unpleasant and we were made to feel less valued than other parties. The other employees were kind and hospitable; however, our server was none of those things.
My husband and have lived in the area for about 6 years. We have passed this restaurant multiple times and have always wanted to try it. Well, for my birthday I chose this spot. The night couldn't have been gone any better! We sat outside on the patio and it was quaint and beautiful. The setting was comfortable and romantic. We ordered two hand-crafted cocktails off of the menu and they were delicious! Next, we had a goat cheese salad, a filet mignon and lobster ravioli. The food was hot, fresh and melt-in-your-mouth delectable! I would highly recommend checking this location out! Even though we sat outside, the inside is very historical-looking and I know I would have enjoyed being inside as well. We will definitely be back! Thanks for an enjoyable birthday!
A pleasant, delightful dining experience........Robin's Nest is comfortable, relatively quiet, very good food, good service.....we will go back frequently...we used to go more often but moved a little bit further away, however, driving the extra time is well worth it.
Greeted by waiter telling us he was very busy. Took 1/2 hour just to get a drink. Salad had a 'wad' of craisens , spring mix and dressing which arrived 15 minutes after it was served. Portabella too salty to eat. I've enjoyed Robin's Nest for years but it has steadily declined. Won't go back!
Thoroughly enjoyed Sunday brunch at the Robin's Nest. The restaurant could not have been more gracious toward my 91 year old mother-in-law. They treated her like a queen, and she loved it. Our waitress, Kasey, certainly helped to make it a wonderful dining experience. The food and cocktails were very good. Definitely recommend saving room for dessert. We had not visited the Robin's Nest in more than a few years, but after yesterday's meal, we will definitely be back soon.
When we got there and I told the hostess we had a reservation she seemed to have an attitude about the use of open table. Made a comment that would leave us to believe that was a problem. We did get a table, but one had to be cleared. In the process, she dropped a glass and a table setting and made a mess so handed us off to another person. We ordered from the specials of the day. My dinner was so spicy hot I could no eat it. Also for the price, I would expect more than 4 shrimp and a piece of chicken smaller than one shrimp! My husband had a different special. His was overcooked and fish was dry. Best part of the meal was the soup and the rolls. The dessert was great though, but they are known for their fabulous desserts. Live music was great, however we were seated on the porch and that room was very loud with folks trying to talk over the music. Service was slow even though there were still open tables in the restaurant. I have had meals there before and never had a problem with the taste or portions. Need a new chef!
We sat outdoors since it was a nice evening. We enjoyed live music while we dined. The band was very good. The food came slowly but we were in no hurry. Highly recommend the roasted brussel sprouts appetizer, the truffle fries appetizer and the steak dinner. All outstanding choices. My old fashioned tasted more like a manhattan but all in all a great dining experience.
