   Roberts is a lovely restaurant located in downtown Paso Robles and I love going there every time I come to wine festival because many of the other restaurants are very loud. The food here is good but the wine by the glass could be better considering you were in wine country. Also the lighting is very poor at night to read a menu. We also heard the staff arguing to each other in the back which was not appropriate. They also only took cash because they claimed the DSL was down for the weekend.... My store has a hard phone line for my credit card machine so I don't understand the DSL excuse

   The food was good, but not awesome. $175 for two people and for that price I expect Awesome good food. Also, if I knew the owners robbed a 99 year old relative and in jail for it I never would have visited the restaurant. Learned after our dinner from friends when we told them we went to Robert's. I won't ever go back to this restaurant because of very high prices and owners robbed a 99 year old.

   They definitely don't have their act together. The waiter handed us a menu with a bunch of red dots, and told us they were out of several things. Why not print up a new menu? Turns out they gave us an old menu with old prices, which we didn't know until we got the bill. We both ordered the filet steak, and the waiter came back to tell us there was only one left. (A Thursday night at 7, with only two other couples in the place) He said the special was a 12 oz. New York steak for $38, so my husband ordered that and I had the remaining 6 oz. Filet for $32. When we received the bill it was $42 for the New York and $38 for the Filet. We asked them to adjust the bill to what we were told. After much conversation and a phone call to the owner, they adjusted the New York to the quoted price, however they refused to adjust the 6 oz. Filet, telling us we had seen an old menu with the old price, instead of a new menu with the new price. Of course we saw the menu that they had handed to us. Although the food was good the whole business left a bad taste in our mouth. If this is how they treat patrons over a few dollars, they're not long for business.

   Good wine list, although 4+ choices were unavailable and interesting appetizers. Limited beer list and no cocktails. Uninspiring menu, although maybe I wasn't in the mood for creative American after all? It just took all 4 of our party a long look at the menu to decide what to eat. My double pork chop was dry. Our server was pleasant and unhurried. Noise level was high enough to have a private conversation and low enough to hear each other.

   Delicious dinner and good service. Very nice atmosphere. Only disappointed in the salad. I thought $14 was a lot for what we got. Salads are always too large so we shared that only. A $3.50 service charge for the split was added to the bill. Did not notice that on the menu and server did not advise us. Felt $17.50 was excessive for the Caesar salad. Nothing special about it, not even any anchovies. May or may not go here again. Too many other good choices in Paso!

   Great ambiance, we appreciate the acoustics so you don't have to shout to have dinner conversation. Food was not as good as we remember. I ordered the chicken piccata and it was extremely dry and over cooked. The dish was presented with only chicken and fettuccine. When I told the waitress it was supposed to come with broccoli she told me it was not. I said I thought it was listed as such on the menu and she assured me I was mistaken. Hmmm....
