I booked Roberta’s months ago for a special occasion and received a confirmation of my booking the day before the lunch was due to take place. I arrived at the restaurant with my guest to find that it had closed down. The restaurant taking its place is advertising its arrival so the closure was not recent.

Unfortunately leaving such a negative review does not bode well with me given how hard the hospitality industry was hit with covid however my parties experience at a family meal was poor. I booked in advance for the set menu with a small glass of wine. This was not registered and the member of staff was unhappy at giving us the set menu. On selection of our food there was only 3 starter options available from 6 of which we only found out after ordering, reordering and reordering again. Any menu restrictions should have been advised at the start of ordering. During service the original staff member was off hand and unhelpful. Once another member of staff took over (young female) the service improved however by that time our experience had been tainted. The food was average and priced accordingly. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has the potential to offer a lovely dining experience but our party did not have such a positive time.

Service took an hour. When asking the server when the food would arrive, received a scowl and no apology. A pizza was ready 20 mins before the rest of the food but when it was finally served, it was under cooked. I asked the pizza cook to prepare another pizza and he did. It was delicious and the pizza cook apologised for the mix up. Meanwhile our sullen server stood in a huddle with other staff all staring at us. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone until the junior staff are either trained or replaced.

Great food and excellent value for money. Service a bit slow, 2 hours 30 and had to leave without a dessert or coffee.

Amazing food! We had pasta with garlic bread from the a la carte menu. Portions were very generous, so much so, we had no room for dessert. We both had the suggested cocktails from the dessert menu, but found them disappointing as they did not live up to their descriptions. I would definitely go back
