Birthday - the served a nice plate with Happy Birthdya written in chocolate- very nice. Red believer cake was tasty.
atmosphere is lovely, great views. Bite size special appetizers and dessert brought to the table is a nice touch. Food is good, but not really over the top. Wait staff is attentive.
My wife and I had dinner at Robert before Jazz at Lincoln Center. It was amazing. My scallops were some of the best I’ve ever had. Our waiter was attentive, and friendly without being obtrusive. The decor is bright and colorful. Added bonus is the view. We had a window table but almost every table has an amazing view. We will certainly return on our next visit to NYC.
Food quality NOT the reason to come. Overpriced and blah. (I'm being kind). You're here for the view and they make you pay for it. But first the officious hostess needs to make sure you don't get the window seat you want because you didn't request it "months in advance."
The view is the reason to eat in this restaurant, yet we were seated against a wall with no view of the park.
Good food, good view, good live piano music which ended around 10 pm so the latter part of the evening was quieter.
Dining at the top of Columbus Circle is thrilling and the food at Robert is fantastic.
A very unique and special restaurant.
I had dinner with my mom here. The view is very beautiful, and the ambiance is nice as well, although I thought the seating arrangement to be a little strange. My octopus was very well cooked, and I enjoyed the Halibut I got for my main course. The serving sizes did seem small, but overall the food was delicious.
Superb service, fantastic view and great food! Went here for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint.
Very little more to say than excellent food, though we were a large party we didnt have the perfect nighttime view up central park, we did with our cocktails and were aware of it through the evening.
I've had lunch there a few times and it is perfect.
Just wonderful in every way! The food is every bit as spectacular as the view.
Came to Robert to celebrate a friend's birthday. Given the short time in planning, we were seated to a window view which was fine. Would had been better if we had the view of central park view. Anyways, the food and service were great. Definitely will come back for lunch, dinner and evening for more view of the Central Park. Highly recommended.
Delicious brunch. Phillipe was the perfect waiter. Beautiful views of Central Park and the Upoer West Side. Loved it!!
A buddy of mine recommended this restaurant so I made reservations on Tuesday for a Friday 5:45 dinner, we had a window seat and the view was amazing. Our waiter Ian was amazing and the food was spectacular. I had the halibut and my wife had the filet, I haven’t had halibut since I left Alaska and I would recommend it to everyone. Thank you for a wonderful time.
Perfect romantic evening, lovely ambience. Staff was attentive. Delicious food options even for the pickiest eater. Small and intimate except for the seating by the elevators.
Wonderful experience! Excellent staff! Welcoming!
Great food. Great service. Excellent view.
Planning an early reservation at Robert is the key to getting a fabulous view from Columbus Circle into Central Park.
The staff is attentive and helpful.
We enjoyed our entrees and special slice of birthday cake, accompanied with 2 glasses of champagne for toasting.
Always enjoy brunch here. Great space, good food, good service - and nice music duo.
It was a special birthday dinner. The staff was very accommodating and the atmosphere is just perfect.
Not too loud. Not too quiet. The food’s selection is perfectly chosen by the chef!
Beautiful setting and breathtaking views of Columbus Circle! Just make sure you reserve your table a month in advance for that spectacular view on a Saturday night :)
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable; Our waiter was attentive to our every need and truly made our dinner experience even more enjoyable.
We will definitely be back !
The food at the restaurant was excellent. The service was okay. My wife and I waited 6 minutes for our server to come to our table to offer us water. He seemed more interested in the table behind us. But once again, the food was excellent
We were visiting NYC with our daughter and her boyfriend during their early college spring break. Ate at Robert prior to our Broadway show. Loved it--great views of Columbus Cir and food was terrific!
Simply put the view can’t be beat and the general atmos -phere is relaxed and pleasant.
the day I was there there were lines to exit in the elevator which extends into the dining area and lines for the 2 individual rest rooms;
It's a shame that such a nice room with an incredible view has such mundane fare. Our grilled octopus appetizer was soggy and tasteless. And the rest of the meal, other than desert was uneventful.
No bar is also not understandable. With the incredible view of Columbus Circle & Central Park, it seems having a bar would be a no brainer. One comes here for the view, but it would be nice if they had decent food as well, and a bar to meet for pre or after theater.
we leave in the neighborhood and it was the second time we visited Robert and we were pleasantly impressed by the service, the quality of food ,the view and in general the atmosphere and pleasant ability to have a conversation. We will see you again and continue to
recommend you to our friends.
Been here a few times and everytime, excellent service and food
Great. One of our favorites in NYC.
We were lucky enough to get a great window seat. Tip: We ate early at 5:30. So it was nice and quiet. Service was fantastic! Have been here a number of times and always have been very happy with the food and the service. Wonderful place!
Our server, Felipe was very attentive to our needs. Food was excellent! We all had a super time.
A lovely spot with a magnificent view. Great service and a nice spot to go for drinks, lunch or dinner.
I love this restaurant. Been coming here for 3 years now and it’s always amazing service and great food and great views. I always bring my out of town visitors here and they fall in love with the city. It’s chic and not crowded.
BAD. Very tourist trappy. You know those restaurants in touristy areas with great views and terrible food and service? Ya. This is one of those. SKIP. It's NY. We have way better options. The food was truly bad. We had to beg for salt and pepper. I say beg because our waiter was an endangered species for most of our meal. It took a full 30 minutes (after asking, which was an olympic event in itself) to get the check. Nice view. Nice decor. Food is second rate. Service is terrible.
Robert has a spectacular view from most seats. Thrilling for special occasions. The food is fine.
We understand that not everyone can be seated by the windows, but with other better tables available, we were seated by a noisy large party. Was this an inexperienced host person? After our waiter went off duty we were forgotten.
Living in the neighborhood, we had hoped to add this to our list of regular places, but alas.
Fantastic view and delicious food! Perfect dinner before visiting the opera.
Perfect, service was exceptional, the overall environment was very pleasant and my client enjoy the visit, too.
We arrived on time for our reservation and were sat right away. The table was a corner window view - perfect for a date- private. Live piano music, fresh flowers on the table, friendly staff, prompt service. We had a prefixe menu that evening for valentines. Filet mignon and lobster was everything you would want- perfectly cooked - perfectly seasoned - perfectly paired with sides. My husband and I are pretty causal but we come here for most every special occasion. The dessert is beyond - almost life changing. It’s expensive and worth it. See you next time Robert.
It’s only worth it if you are next to the table. Turns out these fill up weeks in advanced. The food was not Hugh quality but tried to be fancy
