Celebrated NYU graduation at Robert and the experience was so memorable - beautiful views, lovely staff, and delicious food. Robert bent over backward to make it a special lunch for us.
We waited for a table by a window. The overhang made it much quieter.
Our waiter had great suggestions and the food was delicious. It was also presented beautifully.
Great for lunches and romantic dinners. This is my go to place for out of town guests.
Steak was over cooked and tough. Sent it back and second one was undercooked. Butter for bread was so salty I just didn’t even eat the bread. Service was slow. Waited long for check and to order.
Restaurant is nice inside but food and service is not worth the price.
Service was great – very friendly and attentive! Will be back again soon.
Loved the location, the decor, the service, the food......Definitely on my repeat list when I am in NYC again.
Robert is exceptional. As spectacular a view as any restaurant in NYC. The room itself is literally a work of contemporary art. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable and pleasant without hovering over us. A real pro. And, oh yeah, the food was great. Not Michelin Star exquisite, but great nonetheless. Unpretentious, properly priced and tasty. Neither heavy nor light. Nice. Good selection of wines by the glass and a dozen or so beers to choose from too. Try the tempura shishito peppers for a great appetizer.
Love this charming and elegant place with the most spectacular views.
love the place-love the people
the view is great BUT the food was just OK
the portions were silly they were so small
we had a great time but we were hungry when we left
for a special occasion a table with a view is amazing
Loved it and look forward to visiting again soon :)
Pretty great service
Food was very good - cooked as requested. Our server, Dmitri, was expert, helpful, efficient, and very pleasant! 4 of your staff members cleared our dinner dishes in about 10 seconds - impressive!
Overall the view is great The food is great and overall it is great...
Excellent service and views. Fish a bit dry. Delicious oysters and creative desserts
We were seated next to a huge tv screen promoting the museum which was extremely distracting for a restaurant at this price point. The food was fine nothing we’d return for. The chicken was very dry, the seafood ravioli was just ok and a similar review for the bronzino and the risotto. I’m sure the view is the attraction but to land one of those tables we were told we had to reserve months ahead.
Our server JoeF was Amazing he made sure that we got our food and drinks on time. He was very courteous and well mannered. This is my 3rd time and this is best server among the rest my experience with the previous were just ok but with JoeF it was really worth going back hope you will have more like him in hospitality business.
Food and Ambiance was greatly as expected.
First visit to Robert following recommendation and we weren’t disappointed. I can’t speak more highly of the staff, the food and the view. A must when visiting NYC.
Beautiful atmosphere, views and live piano music. To start, our server brought each of us a spoonful of salmon tartar. Our table ordered the lamb, the duck, the salmon and fish of the day. Each presentation was a work of art. Everyone felt that their dish was the best that they had ever had. Service was prompt and every need satisfied. We didn’t order dessert but our server brought individual fruit cups for each of us, so thoughtful.
One Word: Perfect
Robert is always a favorite spot for a special occasion. Beautiful setting, gorgeous views, exceptional food and excellent service. It's a great spot to impress out of town guests or simply enjoy the best of New York.
I've been wanting to try Robert for several years, mainly because I see it from the Appel Room every time I attend a performance at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
So, I finally got to try it and had high expectations. We were fortunate to have a window table which provides a fabulous view of Columbus Circle, Central Park, etc. The service was very attentive and pleasant. The space is wonderful and I felt like I was in a really cool restaurant in London for some reason.
The major disappointment was the food! Even the bread wasn't good.
We were 2 dining. Ordered 3 apps and 2 entrees. Tuna, octopus and kale salad apps. Chicken and duck entrees. For a restaurant of this level and pricing, the food should have been levels above what we experienced. Most of it was flat tasting, the salad one of the least impressive I've had in a fine dining establishment, tuna completely bland, octopus 1 tentacle with a weird tasting sauce on the plate.
Entrees duck nothing special, skin not crispy, not much flavor or texture; chicken 1 piece was good the other overcooked and tough.
I'd return to Robert since it's such a unique space with a wonderful view and service though I'd ensure to order completely different selections.
Always a treat to visit Robert. Iconic views of Manhattan and food to match. We all had the daily three course luncheon special. Everything was tasty.
My husband and I had a delightful lunch at Robert. The service, food, ambience were excellent. Will definitely return and recommend to friends.
Exceptional food, service and ambiance. The presentation and food quality was top shelf and the value was incredible.
Very nice, cozy and the perfect place to take your date. Outstanding views, great service and their Bloody Mary was really good. Totally recomended
It was a beautiful decor and with jazz playing in the background was a wonderful way to have brunch.
Service is good not rushed. The only surprising thing was about billing; surprised they charge you for each refill of hot or ice coffee otherwise the food was good.
Nice view from the windows.
Bathrooms were worse than any truck stop I have been - abysmal odor and only one bathroom operating. Grateful I went on way out rather than during meal - service was outstanding otherwise.
Beautiful view of Central Park. Excellent waiters. Food portion could be larger. $35 for 6 pieces of ravioli.
Great service. Loved the food. One of the best restaurant views in NYC. Go try it!
Robert is one of my favorite restaurants in the City. The food and drinks are consistently delicious. The views are wondrous no matter the weather outside. The service is friendly, professional, and unpretentious.
Location is great. Food is pretty mediocre - surprisingly so for the location.
Excellent view of Central Park, good food and great service.
We celebrated our 25th anniversary and the staff made every effort to make the evening a memorable one
Great place, with magnificient views to central park, good food and great service
Beautiful setting with gorgeous views. Impeccable polite service and wonderfully prepared and presented food. A perfect place for a romantic or celebratory dinner. We will be back.
Stunning view, lovely food and amazing service. Thank you!
Great food, drinks, and ambiance. Overall a great NYC experience.
Went here to celebrate my birthday and from the moment we arrived everyone was so friendly and attentive. Our food was outstanding as well. Definitely want to come back if we visit NY again.
