Menu options are limited and nothing fascinating. Quality is alright. View is exceptional if you get the window seating.
We were there for a special family birthday and the experience could not have been more perfect! The ambiance was intimate yet airy-feeling, the food was outstanding and the service was exceptional. Our birthday boy could not have been made to feel more special. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great food and service. Our second visit. Stunning view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. We will return.
Mom was visiting from California and we had a great time. Beautiful view and great service! Thank you Alexandria!
Rack of lamb good Salmon too
Pea soup fair
Is always a pleasure visit Robert. The staff is great, the food is UNBELIEVABLE GOOD and the prices at brush are great.
My wife and I were in NYC at a conference and wanted to go someplace special for lunch with my sister. As a native New Yorker she is very particular about restaurants. Our lunch at Robert more than met everyone's expectations. My sister was impressed and so were we!
Our first time at this gem in our neighborhood -- Brunch was excellent, the piano player was tops with all great musical selections and the view of Columbus Circle can't be beat!
Stunning views and a funky and fun decor. The food was all right--not bad or great.
Menu to appeal to all palettes. Good service. Somewhat pricey.
Typical touristy restaurant!
View saved the night. Good meal overall.
Server could have had a bit more personality.
It was a wonderful experience one which I will never forget. The view, the lighting and the music made for a beautiful ambiance. The food was amazing. I would definitely recommend it.
Great view competent service and standard food at a reasonable price for lunch.
Robert made me look good. A good friend's relative was in town from Argentina, and we met for the first time to share a meal at Robert. The restaurant was clean, the view was spectacular (we had a table next-to-the-window table yet still had a nice view of Central Park), the food was terrific. Entrees are a bit on the small side (ex: there were only 4 medium-ish scallops in the scallop dish, plus 2 huge shrimps), so it is reasonable to order appetizers.
We began at 6:30 pm on a Tuesday night. It was noisy, but not unbearable. Then around 7:30, the lights dimmed and the noise level abruptly increased so that we almost had to scream at each other to be heard. That is too noisy ... only slightly louder and I would have immediately left due to concerns about permanent hearing damage. :( However, around 8:30 the noise level decreased back to noisy but not unbearable, and we had a lovely and memorable conversation over coffee from 8:30 - 9:30.
Robert should have an adjustable silence cone over each table, so the diners can hear each other if they want. This could be done with acoustic foam on the inside of a pendant fixture, there is plenty of height in the room. Part of a good dining experience is conversation, but that did not work well from 7:30 -8:30 pm ... we were mostly eating then, not talking. Still.
This is a merely a good value, because it is on the pricy side, but you get an above-average experience although there is the noisiness, so you generally get what you pay for. If the noise was reduced, Robert would be my favorite restaurant because a Central Park view is so soothing, and it would be an excellent value.
Robert is an absolute delight! Great food and view, but the ambiance and friendly attentive staff is such a welcome treat! I highly recommend this gem! Beautiful experience!
Everything was excellent: ambiance, service, view, cusine. Food presentation was stellar. Flavors A+. Quality (classy) patrons. Great value. Just amazing.
Eight friends in New York for several days chose this as a new place to go. The service and food were wonderful...not a tourist trap but a lovely venue for our special night out. They were unable to accommodate us at a window table but all tables still afford a view of Columbus circle, a bit of Central Park and the vibrant streets around the area.
Excellent service and food! One of the best views in the city overlooking Columbus Circle. Definitely my go to place for special occasions. Would recommend asking for a window seat when making reservations for the great views.
Great experience, again ! Been here 5 times over the last 8months. Always delivers on food, service and of course the amazing view. Lunch menu is great value for money.
We went on Saturday for a silver wedding anniversary. We had been told about Robert by a friend. Everything from the lovely lady on reception to the waiter who gave us the bill was fantastic. Fine dining but not stuffy & very friendly staff. I would recommend anyone visiting New York from the uk visits Robert you will definitely not be disappointed. Thank you to everyone at Robert for making our special occasion an enjoyable one.
A lovely and leisurely dinner. Great food, excellent service and wonderful views even when not seated by a window. One of my favorite places to dine in NYC--I look for opportunities to do so.
Visited from the UK and was recommended to dine at Robert to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. Food, service and views were amazing. I reserved a table online, and called to get a window table and a bottle of champagne on arrival. Our server was attentive and all the team were very friendly.
We watched the world go by whilst enjoying the exquisite food.
Well worth a visit.
Dinner was a disappointment, the appetizers were so so; the lamb wasn’t cook enough. Waiter brought the wrong wine.
A wonderful meal! Octopus was outstanding. Lamb, though not medium rare, was tender and really flavorful! Very good service. Highly recommended.
Fabulous food, service and location! Big windows overlooking Central Park with cool furnishings. Will definitely be back!
wow what a wonderful place service was fabulous as was the food a grand place to go and talk over a meal thanks for making my birthday extra special will see you soon nancy weinstein
We went to Robert on a trip to NYC because we had been there before and liked it.
The food was very good, however it seemed as though our main course had been lost in the kitchen. It took about 45 minutes between our appetizer and the main dish coming (we didn’t order anything special that would take that long). When I asked our server if our dinner would be coming soon, he looked surprised and said he would check. Miraculously our dinner appeared in two minutes. No apologies were given, although we were given a desert wine on the house.
Don’t know if we will be back the next time in NYC. Too bad.
The Service could not have been better. And the new chef menu and food was delicious. Thursday night live music piano along with a smooth jazz singer. Very special atmosphere for a dining out .
Went to Robert last week with our adult children before a broadway show. We had the octopus and mussels to start, delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meal, service and venue. Food was beautifully presented, tasty and cooked to perfection. My husband loved the ink linguine with lobster. My son in law had the duck and loved it. My son and I loved the scallops. My daughter and daughter in law had the rigatoni and they enjoyed their dishes, too. Not our first time at Robert and will return soon.
Excellent- highly recommend ❤️
Waiter was a little slow to get our table service started.
Beautiful view, good food but mediocre service. The waiter was mostly absent.
Request table by the windows - great view over Columbus circle. 6 of us - excellent menu choices - scallops were some of best ever eaten. Had a problem w 1 entré - staff quickly rectified. Definitely recommend & will go again!
Wonderful meal and very good service. Also nice to be able to converse with friends in quiet surroundings unlike most restaurants today. Kudos to Robert!
What a great surprise! We expected a high class and great view of the park but everything was much better than expected
The food was verry good , the service was great. The view was Amazing.
The food was delicious and the wait staff is absolutely top notch, it’s a pleasure to be served by such professional and kind people
Service needs a lot of work. Disappointed. Food was actually good.
Had reservations for 5om, arrived at 4:40 and were offered seats in the lounge to wait for the restaurant opening. At 5 pm we informed our waiter that we had theater reservations for 7 pm and would like to be seated. He brought us the bar check but nothing else happened. At least 15 tables were seated as guests arrived, so we approached the hostess with the same request. At 5:20 spoke to her again, she rolled her eyes and said “it’s only been 15 min” and “you never told us you had theater reservations”. Finally got a table in the back of the restaurant by the kitchen door, although plenty of other tables still empty. Felt like punishment for annoying the hostess. The kitchen entrance was loud, but tolerable. The waiter was friendly and tried his best. We were concerned about the speed of service so decided to stick to a bunch of appetizers. Had to explain to the waiter not to bring all the dishes at the same time, as was his plan as he asked if we can unfold the table for more room. The wine glasses were hot, straight out of the dishwasher. Got wine spilled on one of our guests as we were leaving and the table was being cleared. We just made it for 7pm show.
Very good location, good disain of interior, very good american wine! Good food! Perfect! Good service. Thank you.
great Easter Brunch! we will be back. very festive atmosphere. beautiful view
