Great food, service and views of the Central Park!!!
The view is incredible, as it has been for years, but I feel the restaurant has gone downhill. The food was very disappointing, which made it way too expensive. In addition, more our drinking glasses were dirty and it made me wary of other things being dirty, as well. It just didn't feel well taken care of anymore.
Beautiful view , good service, tasty food, and cocktails :)
Wonderful! Will definitely be back.
This is the second time when we requested a table by the window they didn't give us. The first time they told us (a year ago) that they didn't receive any request (which I did by calling them) and now yesterday again they told us they have received the note but still they gave us a two tables away from the window and said it was the best thing they could do. Very disappointed.. Wouldn't go back. Let's be honest part of the experience eating there is to have the view of Central Park.
The most amazing restaurant so far. The view is incredibly amazing and the server were very friendly.
It’s was better than I expected- the service and food was exceptional. And, much to my surprise, the prices were quite reasonable for a restaurant in the heart of Manhattan with wonderful views of the city and Central Park. I will be returning.
Food sounds and looks better than it tastes. The ambiance is great for a date or an anniversary. Service is friendly and attentive. Overall a good ecperience and reasonable value.
This was my second visit here for brunch. Robert really does have a great view/location, but the food was just average, and service quite slow and unresponsive. We had asked for more rolls while waiting for the meal, and this request seems to have been forgotten by the server--we would've been happy to pay extra, as the teens in our party were getting rather hungry, but he never got back to us. We had to ask several times for refill on water. Overall, somewhat a disappointing experience.
I arrived at this place at 7:12 for my 7:30 reservation for a party of 2. The hosts were friendly and told me my table wasn't ready yet, which is understandable on a Friday night.
I had requested a table near the window, but no one had explained to me that I'll be sitting in the lounge first area to wait for my table while my other guest was on the way to arrive.
I then asked what was going on and they said they were waiting for my guest to arrive and then I'll be seated. I had asked to be seated while I wait for my guest and they said they wanted to provide the best service encouraged me to wait at the lounge table.
ADVICE: IF A CUSTOMER WANTS TO WAIT FOR THEIR OTHER GUEST AT THE TABLE, LET THEM! DO NOT FORCE THEM TO WAIT IN THE LOUNGE IF THERE TABLE IS ALREADY BUSSED AND READY TO BE SAT.
P.S. Henry was a great server.
Without our table's view of Columbus Circle and Central Park Robert was not worth the 20 block trip. Our wonderful waiter was smart and attentive and properly apologetic when the poor murdered cod arrived and was sent back. I don't understand a place that has all the ingredients for greatness allows for poor lighting and overcooked food.
Robert you were amazing and my beautiful lady and I thank you for outstanding customer service ! The food was amazing and the ambiance was excellent as well. It was pricey but we enjoyed everything that came with it!
Valentines Day dinner
This was my first time visiting Robert and from the customer service to the taste of the food I was marveled. I’ll certainly be back again and again. Next time I’ll be there for Brunch.
Perfect dining. Would love a window seat next time.
Such an intimate setting. Quick service, yet you dont feel rushed. Music set the mood, what a wonderful setup!
The food was mediocre at best. I know it was Valentine’s Day and it was a fixed menu but it seemed as if the food was prepared ahead of time to save time. The staff was very courteous and the atmosphere nice. Given the price the food should have been perfect.
It was a fantastic experience!! We enjoyed ourselves.
Must-stop dining for any visit to NYC. Best if seated at window.
Everything was great but the service was very slow
We had a wonderful time at Robert restaurant for Valentine's Day this year. The food was tasty, the ambience of the restaurant and the view overlooking Columbus circle was perfect. The food came out on time and the waitstaff was friendly although a tad slow... but nothing that ruined the time. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone.
Perfect! We love it! Amazing view to Central Park!
Always enjoy Robert. Beautiful ambiance, very friendly & attentive service, delicious food. My first choice when celebrating a special occasion. Thank you for a lovely evening & seating is by the window.
Spent a memorable evening, liked everything about the Restaurant
Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food with numerous creative options, LOVED it all!
fantastic ambiance and view. perfect for my business lunch - would also come back for social events. beautiful space.
After opera dinner
The view is spectacular, but I failed to ask for a window table early enough.
Service and food are wonderful.
We had a splendid time-- would have been even better if waiter was a bit more attentive and we were seated by the window as requested
WE had a wonderful time and the food is outstanding!!
A beautiful view with a modern decor, the brunch was unhurried and the food was attractively served. There was a pianist with an upright bass player. I only wish they had started earlier. Overall, it was a wonderfully classic New York brunch experience. Classy, well presented and upscale.
My husband and I brought our friend to Robert to experience the view, music and fine food. We were highly pleased with every aspect of the restaurant. Kudos and job well done.
Extraordinary dining experience. Obviously a locals place, but when they love it, that says something.
Great food! The wait staff was friendly and hospitable
The view is terrific and the service is outstanding We were seated promptly and the wait staff gave us just the right amount of attention. The ambience is terrific and there is a good energy. The only drawback might be that it is a tad pricey given the portion but the presentation is excellent.
Your varied menus, unobtrusive, but observant service and ambiance (view of Central Park with high ceilings and plenty of space between tables) make a visit to Robert Restaurant a consistent pleasure. I rarely respond with assessments but I appreciate how your management seems to raise the bar for itself over time. Speaking of bars your cocktails are well made and I appreciate the piano player as well. The noise level (from diners) can get a tad high for normal conversation, but certainly not as disruptive as in restaurants where they embrace a loud roar.
Small plates menu great, especially the creme brulee❣️
It is always a lovely experience. I miss the moqueca
