First time here for dine out. Excellent food and service. Small and cozy. Will come back
First time I have been, and I will be back for sure. I’m happy my friend wanted to split each course because the ‘dine out’ salad, carpaccio and parpadele (dp?) were amazing. The lobster/shrimp ravioli was ok.
Yes, yes, yesssss... Robba de matii, I don’t eat past if I don’t make it my self being part Italian but I would drive far to come eat your food, that says a lot. The only reason I gave it a 4 Over all is bc we had reservation and we still waited about 40 min for our table :( hopefully that is not the case next time 🙏🏽
The appetizer was fantastic, and please try the beef tenderloin. And the waiter was super nice and stylish.
Waiter was awesome! And food was spectacular!
Even though i made a reservations i was given a table at the patio outside, while they have heathers it was still cold. Very limited space inside. Food was average nothing was a wow and my friend was sick for 24 hours after eating the sea food pasta.
The service was fast and friendly and the Dine out was great. Only complaint was it was quite cold. They have a patio that the door was open to so it was quite cold. To their credit, when I complained they were much better at handling the door, and were better about opening and closing it. Took a little while to heat up after leaving there.
Tables are too close to one another. Crowded. Tables are not leveled and unsturdy. The server had to repeatedly squeeze behind my seat every time to serve the table next to me. Totally annoying ruining ambiance
First time to Robba da Matti and it was a great find! Great antipasto spread and their specialty bruschetta was amazing! Service was also very good and recommendations were on point. Will definitely be back to enjoy more of this great food!
Everything food and service was great. We were sat on the covered patio under a heater but it was still quite cold. Our mains cooled down quite quickly but they were still delicious. If we hadn’t made the reservation the day of dining we’d have asked to move inside but we also understand sometimes you get what you can get. Our server was wonderful and very courteous to let us enjoy our time and order when we were comfortable. The staff across the board was very knowledgeable and hospitable start to finish. I will recommend the creme brule to everyone.
Just a cosy spot. Food was delicious and service was great. Prefect for date nights.
Came here for a birthday dinner date, great food and great service that went above and beyond. Staff were friendly and knowledgable, and it's one of my favourite Italian places in the city. Nice ambience as well.
I probably walked by this place a dozen times during visits to Vancouver, and it was always full. So I got smart and booked a table, glad I did. Small intimate room, compact menu, sunny patio. Pappardelle "red' and a glass of vino made the perfect lunch. The pasta was so perfectly balanced with beef rib, bits of chicken, rich sauce. I got hungrier as I ate it. Delicious. I'll be thinking about it for a long time. Till next time. My 2020 Resolution? Try everything on that menu.
Oh, great pro service too.
Best Italian restaurant around. Spaghetti alla scoglio and primavera are great.
Great meal. Our server was excellent! His knowledge of the menu and the wine list was very good.
It was good, food arrived fast but overall space was a bit tight.
The food was good but not great especially for the price.
Ended our dining experience on a really disappointing note. We were advise our table was required for the next seating only 10 minutes in advance. Would have been nice to know this earlier as we would not have ordered a second bottle of wine. We were then asked to take our half bottle away!
Not only that, we were taking longer at the table because our server never placed our entree order.
My husband and i have been wanting to eat here and i must say, it didn’t disappoint! We sat outdoors — it was noisy and slightly crammed but we still had a very enjoyable evening because of the attentive service and awesome food! We ordered parma ham and mozzarella, seafood risotto, crab/lobster ravioli, and tiramisu. Portions were perfectly sized and so we had a full course meal without feeling uncomfortably bloated. Will def be back!
Tried to go there on a Friday evening, around 6:40 pm. The gentleman who approached us at the door said there were no spots before 8 pm for guests without a reservation, so we left. After 5 minutes I was able to make a reservation for 7 pm, and headed back to the restaurant. Upon pointing us the table, his first words were “you have one hour and 15 minutes to eat”. It was not a good first impression at all. What overcame it was the great service of our young male server - didn’t get his name. Great product knowledge and customer service. Food was also very tasty.
Very loud fellow patron. Feel I’m all caught up on the gossip re: her personal life after the meal :)
An authentic tiny italian place; you will need a reso. Great food.
Our experience was great - perhaps the front door could move elsewhere as our position was impacted by the cold draft (in Winter). Otherwise, perfect..
Fantastic staff and delicious food. Very accommodating when I needed to make reservation changes. Loved it.
Small place and very busy so they had to wedge us in. Heated deck outside was an option but we chose the inside instead. Bruschetta was delicious, wine from Italy was great and the carbonara was the BEST EVER. We travelled in Italy this summer for three weeks and didn’t have carbonara any where near this good. Staff was fun. All in all a great place!!
The service was good and attentive. Gotta stop calling Canadians “folks” though. Food was generally good but relatively unremarkable. Prices were low but portions were small, particularly for an Italian restaurant where bread is not offered unless antipasti is offered. Would consider other location. Wine list was small but by the glass offerings were too few.
The service was lovely, but this was the worst Italian food I’ve ever eaten. My friend and I had a solid laugh about it. The gnocchi was basically set in a cream soup and the risotto was more like a stir fry. It was laughably bad. Normally I would send it back as I’m not shy, but the servers were so nice we didn’t have the heart. Ambiance is cozy, service top notch - but if you want delicious Italian food search elsewhere. Hopefully just a very very off night for them.
Such a sweet little tucked away Italian restaurant with the best food! So happy we found this gem and will be back 100%!
Great location. Nice street-level patio
The food is great and the staff are lovely... it was somewhat chilly though with the door to the restaurant opening and with the door to the outside seating opened for a bit too long in between closures.
WE WERE IN EARLY, WERE TREATED VERY WELL BY THE FRIENDLY STAFF, THE APPYS AND MAIN WERE AS EXPECTED, VERY TASTY. IT WAS GREAT BEFORE OUR DANCE SHOW AT THE ROUNDHOUSE
The servers were really nice but we had to ask where our entrees were twice. It took over 20 minutes between our appetizers and entrees. The drinks were delicious, but my entree was flavourless. Maybe we had an odd experience as I know many have had way better experiences than ours.
Love sitting outside but we were at a table on the outside corner and FROZE! We asked for a blanket but there were none. Three of us on the exposed corner couldn’t take our coats off, my dinner came hot but after the first forkful it got cold fast and was eating a very cold dinner and pasta looses its appeal when cold! Not cheap so wanted a nice experience. Suggestion.... if you’re going to sit people there ( and the wait staff do know which table this is ) you have to either supply blankets or have a cover to go over the four inch gap on the corner of the plastic wall. Sadly, definitely won’t recommend or be back until the weather warms up
Great food and service but the ambiance at the west of Denman location is better.
We ordered our dinner but after the appetizer we had to leave and asked for our dinner to go. The staff was so kind to make sure that we were pleased with our meal to that point and wanted to make sure they had taken good care of us. It would have been better to eat my dinner fresh but it was still delicious two hours later. I will return again.
Excellent food for a casual meal with friends. Upbeat, convivial staff even when insanely busy!
Delicious food and great atmosphere! The staff is fantastic and hospitable, love that they are speaking Italian to each other, feels very authentic!
Food was very good but service wasn’t good at all.
