The food is excellent but not value for money as at least one side should be included. The wine prices are ridiculous and more selection in the lower prices should be included.
Visited as a group of six and had an amazing breakfast with great service. Scotch egg and spinach as part of the Full Veggie were super. Plan to come back already! Thank you
A suitable location for a special occasion. As always we were well looked after
How to ruin a Sunday lunch . Seat us on our own. Ignore us until we shout . Serve pre lunch drinks with the wine and then let us wait for a very average meal but very expensive experience.
When we complain to the manager he tells us that his kitchen and front of house need done training ...and to cap it all the reception staff had their coats on as we were leaving .
As I said how to ruin a Sunday lunch
If you want a roast dinner with a touch of class book this place 👌 10/10
Over - rated for the food, although the place has a good atmosphere. Food came out cold and is over priced for quality.
A wonderful meal with exceptional service, highly recommend 👍
Noise level was way to high.
Quality and taste of food was not as I would have expected for that price.
Clearly there is room for improvement.
Good wine menue.
Staff was friendly and polite.
Lovely food and variety of choice on the menu great service will defiantly be going back there
I love this restaurant and have eaten there countless times over the years. However, it’s beginning to look quite tired. On Saturdays they no longer serve breakfast with table cloths - revealing that each and everyone of their tables is chipped, damaged, and in need of replacement.
Visited for breakfast. My fellow diner chose lobster benedict. £21 for the large. Less than impressed with the miniscule amount of lobster that would barely fill a tablespoon. I chose avocado, orange and tomato. Disproportionately large amount of avo - 1.5 - to other ingredients. Bread basket a failure with slices of white bread. There’s a bulging market literally downstairs packed with artisan bakers. Two juices and two teas and we saw no change from £60+ Also found front of house and service a little surly. To finish on a positive, decor is fabulous and views are glorious.
Great place away from the hustle and bustle of Borough Market. Only marked it down because it can be a bit loud
Great lunch - the white onion and cider soup was superb! Great service and a wonderful view over Borough market.
A lovely way to have a really positive business meeting.
Great views and ambience. Glorious food, perfect champagne
We had a good meal and the service was Ok but not exceptional. It is an expensive meal if you go for the full three courses and wine.
Great restaurant in the heart of borough market. This was another return visit and we’ll definitely be going back again.
Portions too big! Waste of food, .
It was a nice experience, but the food was very overpriced for the quality.
I have submitted many reviews for Roast and am pleased to say that the food remains amazing!
Sadly the floor service let the restaurant down.
There seemed to been half the number of waiters as usual - and this showed in their less attentive, rushed and almost slightly unfriendly attitudes.
Interesting location, friendly and efficient service. The food was great - just the way a Sunday roast dinner should be. I'd recommend to anyone who appreciates a great roast dinner.
Really good food. Vegetables and wine are expensive. Nice place and good service
I visited the Roast with my family. The food and service were second to none. An excellent family lunch.
Attended for a special occasion and the restaurant kindly accommodated our request for a table with a view and for a special dessert. Most of our party had the special (beef wellington) which was a fantastic portion, cooked to perfection. Starters (Scotch egg, tortellini) were delicious. A perfect treat.
Although we were aware of the prices when booking, we expected the food to be of the highest quality. Unfortunately, this proved not to be the case. All four in our party found the food to be bland, particularly the main course of roast beef and the signature beef wellington, and lacking flavour. We didn't expect to have to pay extra for vegetables with our main.
The restaurant itself was very noisy and echoy because of the high ceilings and we found ourselves taling quite loudly to each other. Our first waitor was a little surly and not very helpful with the menu. The wine list was quite limited which surprised us.
Overall we were very disappointed with this restaurant and would not visit again or recommend to friends and family.
Sadly terrible service with rude waiters, overpriced most likely due to tourist trap of Borough Market. Very loud & little space.
Wont be going back. Disappointing..
I took my husband to celebrate his birthday, we had a wonderful evening. The service and food was perfect, it's a beautiful venue & I'd highly recommend it.
As always, the service and delicately and carefully arranged food was aesthetically delicious as it was on the palate.
A huge thank you to ALL the wonderful Roast family who continue to make each of our visits to our wonderfully memorable
Hamish and Jacqueline
Food was good but service not great (had to chase for items, ask to order, etc)
Lovely breakfast, so much so I couldn’t face buying any of the fabulous offerings from the market.
I love the food at Roast, but every time we go, the service is really ropey. Staff avoid eye contact. Even when asked if everything was OK and I asked for more gravy, I had to ask twice and I had almost finished my meal before it arrived.
It's a shame the acoustics are so bad (noisy).
The only other thing that lets this restaurant down are the awful toilets. The soap dispenser was broken and they've abolished paper towels which just adds to the water and (other liquid) on the floor in the men's loos.
Would have loved to write a better review. Go here for the food - it's wonderful. just keep your expectations of the rest pretty low and you'll hopefully be OK.
Very long wait for the food. Steaks were under seasoned. Presented a bill with drinks we didn’t order .
Quite simply one of the best restaurants in London, and one of my personal favourites whenever I am in town.....keep up the good work!!
Went on a Sunday afternoon, the food was really great, the service left a lot be desired - 15 min wait for our drinks, when we ordered a bottle we had to ask to be topped up, the staff overall didn’t seem well trained, it was a bit chaotic.
If I’m paying 46 pounds for 300g of meat I expect it ro be awesome. Not something I can cook better myself for a 5th of the money.
I’m not a big fan having my clothes smelling like I would hav been working in the kitchen myself.
A great birthday treat, the scotch egg was a definite highlight!
Don't normally bother to write reviews, but Roast was genuinely outstanding.
Generally unimpressed with the entire experience. Felt like a tourist trap with $40 entrees. Would not recommend
I have dined at Roast before and the experience was still exciting The food and service was excellent but I was a bit disapointed with the choice of cocktails.
Very disappointing. We had been to Roast for brekkie previously and had a 5* experience so were expecting similar. the visit started badly with a wobbly table, and order which was wrong, we were not offered condiments, the coffee was awful. No intention to visit again.
No choice of sparkling water. Only their own, which tastes dreadful.
Our waiter took a long time to take our order and by the time he did they had run out of the daily special.
